I'm now pretty much done with Wangan Midnight. Platinum'ed every series and unlocked everything but two tuning cards that require a certain level in online multiplayer, which is as dead as it can get. Had an absolute blast with this game and a decent substitute if you don't have an XBOX 360 and Import Tuner Challenge.

For now, I've put Initial D:Extreme Stage on hold as I'm waiting for my newest addition to my collection of japanese racing games.

Thanks to a hefty bonus from work, I (probably) spent an obscene amount of money on getting both Tokyo Extreme Racer 3 imported from the US as well a fully modified/region free PS2 from the UK. I couldn't care less though as I've been wanting to get my hands on this game since forever. I'm aware of the possibility of emulating but I just never had a good enough PC nor do I care about PC gaming enough to justify such purchase. Crossing my fingers that it all works and goes well or else you'd have to bring a salt mine to my front door :D

If the above works as intended, D1GP is next on my gaming bucket list.
Inbetween taking care of a newborn, getting the apartment ready for a move, work and trying to get some sleep, I’m (at last) playing Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 after all these years. I’m happy as can be, even more so after purchasing a component cable for my PS2 which made a significant difference in picture quality.

Currently rocking a FD RX7 after starting out with an FC. Slowly racking up mileage to unlock the option to do an engine swap. Only beaten 44% of the rivals in the game so far but I’m in no hurry to finish Quest Mode.

An absolute joy to play this game. Easily among my favourites, followed by Import Tuner Challenge (X360) and Wangan Midnight (PS3).

Aside from GT7 I have been trying to get ahead of children in Sonic Forces. I have also been playing the PS4 remake of the 1st Ratchet & Clank. DW9 and Avengers are also in the rotation right now

Congrats! My newborn is somehow almost 5 months old now but we're also packing to move (on Saturday), good luck with yours. Also you've just reminded me to add TXR3 to my list of games to try emulating when I get my Steam Deck.

What is Project cars and Dirt? I saw them on Amazon a month ago and was thinking about getting them, but are they good and fun or are they boring?

Congrats and good luck as well! :D

I had an eye on the Steam Deck too for pretty much emulation only (and a few upcoming games) but couldn’t wait till its estimated availability, Q3 of this year.

If you end up trying TXR3, don’t forget to bump up the steering sensitivity to somewhere between 10 to 15. Let’s just say Genki aren’t exactly known for their physics engine.

The first 2 Project Cars games are circuit racers primarily, a bit more simulation based than GT or Forza but not as sim as say Assetto Corsa. They are best played with a wheel as controller handling is trickier to get used to.

Project Cars 3 is more simcade than the first 2 but is better with a controller by all accounts which may be important.

Dirt comes in both Dirt Rally games format (which are pretty highly regarded generally) and Dirt games which are Arcade racers that tend to have several different modes thrown in (including gymkhana and circuit events and some rally too(

All of the above can be "fun" depending on what appeals to the individual. And apart from the latest Dirt (Dirt 5) most of their games are available at good prices these days.

Also both PC and Dirt have forums on here that you should browse through to get an idea.

What driving games have you played previously, as that will likely suggest which you might prefer.?

I played AI: Somnium Files on the Gamepass. Playing visual novel on the Xbox was certainly bit of an interesting experience, but murder mystery was fun, the characters grew on me, and I really liked the concept of exploring the dream world, even if the gameplay's bit on the shallower side. Apparently there's a sequel coming out this June, so I'm looking forward to trying that out. Maybe on my PC instead of Xbox though.

Haven't really played that much racing game with Elden Ring hogging all my free time since February. Not that there's anything on the racing game landscape that really interests me. I wish I had Gran Turismo 7 😔

One day I was bored of looking at my ever-growing list of games in my Steam library and decided to install some of them just to see if my laptop can run them.

Surprised to find out that I can run Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 at 60fps on 1080p, medium settings. Been playing an hour or two before bed every night, slowly ranking up and enjoying my nostalgia trip.

I'm running an i7-1165G7 bottlenecked by LG's stupid cooling solution and low power draw.

On top of those, I've been running:
  • 911 Operator
  • Papers, Please
  • Pathway
  • Project Hospital
  • Police Stories

I tried to run Rainbow Six Vegas 2, but it is really poorly optimized and I can barely get 30fps on it.

If you like police stories you might like Intravenous. It's pretty hardcore but satisfying.

Just wanted to start this off by saying I've recently started going through my unfinished back catalog of pc games.

Currently, I'm playing:

GP2
GP2: Modified version with fantasy season (16 of my favourite tracks and 2011 car mod)
GP3
Morrowind
Monkey Island 2.
Commando's 1 (and expansion pack)
Commando's 2
Commando's 3

I'm only playing for about two hours per day, but I'm trying to work my way through those games to kill time before F12011 and Skyrim are released. What games are you playing now?
GT7 and Grid Legend. Twice a week, more or less I play GT Sport daily races.

I have it on my wishlist!! I just didn't want to add to my backlog even more. I have like 174 games in my wishlist currently. I would say the more accurate number is around 140, sans DLC bundles.

I also have been playing Door Kickers 2, I forgot to mention that in my original post. It is brutal!!!

Looks like I’ll be picking this up on release.

Hopefully I’ll have completed my current games, now with Sackboys Big Adventure added.

Edit: Completed Tsushima and Lego Builders Journey.

The Lego game looks the biz with RT on.

Now that I've cleaned, repasted and replaced the fan in my PS4 Pro it's finally quiet enough that I can play Spider-Man Miles Morales at night without waking people up, so I've just started that. It's good so far, like the first game but a little different. I've also got Ghost of Tsushima, Jak & Daxter, Uncharted 3, 4 and Lost Legacy lined up and I might give TLOU another shake - I've bounced off it twice already.

I've left my GT7 save with about 150 credits in the bank so tomorrow I'll be doing however many races needed to buy the Cappuccino and maybe the 911 CS, but I'm kind of done with it for a bit. Once I can be bothered to read up on recommended cars and strategies for the races with tyre wear and fuel consumption I might give the late game stuff a shot but for now I feel there's too much pressure to make money for me to enjoy learning through trial and error.

Having fun with dishonored 2 and thief latest on ps4. Messing with ai and exploring/using level design, pretty fun.
I like the moody feel of thief, wish they made new ones.

Edit: i like in thief the notes you find aren't just lore but also gameplay hints.
Can be for a puzzle to a lock, or a level design, or gameplay feature.

Still mucking around with Slay the Spire. Managed to beat the game with three of the four characters so far. The fourth character tho. I might need to look up a guide for her, to figure a decent strategy.

And dusted off Mario Kart 8 Deluxe recently, just because I hadn't touched it months. Might end up getting the new DLC for it at some stage.

it's interesting, when I'm too busy during the week that I fail to find time for gaming I start feeling... too serious and taking everything close to heart. Gaming is kinda of psycho therapy from being "too adult and too serious" (those things always turn into the disability to create anything cool in this life)
And I failed to play video games this weekend, so I'm feeling pretty bad((( I must manage my time better...

GT7 mostly but have been putting good hours into eFootball 2022's meagre selection of content now that the gameplay has been vastly (if not completely) improved. It's quite good fun playing online and building a squad in the Dream Team mode (basically the only thing to do outside of some events) and I like that you can bring in decent players and then progress them to be the kind of players who fit your system and this can be done pretty quickly if you're putting time in.

Unfortunately it can get dull visually pretty fast as it's basically the same stadium, same time of day, no weather, and most players have the usual identikit teams with a PSG badge - match after match.

Hoping that they add more to see and do in the coming weeks.

Playing a free game Orcs must Die

I started jogging and ran a 5k just to experience it.

Ride 4 (so many of my favorite bikes gone.(

I liked it but there was a $37 entree fee. I will continue to jog in the park when I can but the organized races will only be once in a while.(I need to get rid of my spare tire)

Had fun with Metro Last Light last night, i was giggling messing with the ai, admittedly i was dead tired hehe.
But they are fun, the human enemies on levels with many of them, they react, animate, comment pretty well, lot of fun. Maybe I'm one third into the game's chapters.
Advanced a little with metro 2033 too, did the library and archive levels, immersive even though a little too scripted, linear for me.

I haven't had the energy to play anything on a big screen lately so have sort of parked Spider-Man Miles Morales and GT7 in favour of a quick normal difficulty run through of Metal Gear Solid on my Vita. I started at lunchtime, played a bit during breaks from work and have just put it down after the first round of Ocelot's "interrogation", and man is it hard to hammer that circle button on the Vita. Also even with all the touchscreen and rear touchpad hot corners set to L2 or R2 to summon the inventory, I'm having real trouble summoning it when I need it and not accidentally summoning it when I don't.

I'm not skipping cutscenes or codec chats because it's been a few years since my last full playthrough, but I'm not doing a no kills run (I killed all the guys during the prison escape, but haven't killed anyone optional since) nor am I doing a no alerts/continues run because I've set off a few alerts and have died twice, once trying to not kill anyone during the prison escape and once by falling into a trap door in the armoury because my thumb fell off the d-pad at the worst possible time.

All in all it's not the worst way to play MGS, but it's not the best either. The convenience is 100% what makes it worthwhile.

I've been on a bit of kick with rhythm based games lately. Went back and played Crypt of the Necrodancer and it's Zelda-branded offshoot Cadence of Hyrule, and recently discovered this:

I have to say, firing and reloading a gun in time with the game music is one of those "this is more satisfying than it should be" things. It also forces you makes you pay more attention to where you're shooting since you can't just click-spam in the general direction of an enemy... if you miss the beat, the gun just won't fire. The only real gripe I have is that a lot of characters are locked behind finishing the game and that's gonna take a while for me, but there is one that can be earned fairly early who gets a totally random loadout each run, so that may help.

And in the same genre, this is looking pretty rad too:

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider - meh addition to great series.
Mirror s Edge Catalyst - funny thing is I forget that I already beat it. Mediocre
Guardians of the Galaxy - great story, visuals, but meh gameplay.
Cyberpunk 2077 - has its own pros and cons, but as cinematic experience - superb. I think its main problem is openworld - game could be waaaaay better as linear story(closer to what Deus Ex HR and Witcher 2 did).
FarCry 6 - another great FarCry game.
We happy few - hidden gem. One of the best stories in video games. Great style. Interesting roleplay system. Mediocre combat.

Currently playing The Crew 2, CODBOCW Zombies, Fable 3, Outer Worlds, Wierd West.

Fifa 22. I'm not that into huge football/soccer but seeing as it's free on PS+ this month, I decided to give it a go. Haven't played a Fifa game since '17. The manager/career mode is basically the only thing I care about it. Enjoying this one so far, has a good amount of depth to it.
