What's eating at Lewis Hamilton?

I will restate my position that aggressiveness is not Hamilton's problem. He can be aggressive and have no issues. It's those little mistakes he makes when his brain goes God-knows-where that really bite.

Whats eating him? He thinks he's the best driver in the world and can't deal with fact that there are other drivers on the grid besides himself, also things such mechanical failure, the weather, things outside of his control.

He may be a gifted driver in terms of raw talent, but there more to racing than that. He's got a lot to learn about patience, pacing, overtaking and well, dealing with drivers other than himself.

If I were to sum it up in a word, I'd say immaturity.

I think this is one of the downsides of beginning your career in the fastest car. Having nearly won the title in his rookie year he probably came out of it thinking he would the greatest driver of all time, and for most of that season he simply kept himself out of trouble. His racecraft has been very scruffy since then, and he probably has the least experience fighting in the midfield or at the back of all of the drivers on the grid.

[rant] I personally Disagree with a majority of BS in that video. Yes, he can be a bit of a sloppy driver at times, doesnt always overtake the cleanest, can sometimes be a bit arrogant and think he is king of the world, but he doesnt purposly take out people, the "purposly taking ot webber" Webber oversteered/Hamilton Understeered and they connected. And the whole "blocked Kamui because he was faster" Lets go back to Monza when it was Schumi doing the "blocking" shall we? [/rant]

EDIT: The incident with Button was Hamilton's fault.

The video has Niki Lauda's name spelt wrong, therefore it was made by somebody who knows NOTHING of F1 and is therefore rubbish!
I'm not a fan of Lewis because he's so crazy at times but he's obviously quite talented and could get 2nd in championships if he calmed down a bit and stopped getting into crashes.

As a fan of both McLaren drivers that was hillarious, at first I thought it was somewhat serious, but the corner cutter had me in a ball of laughter and tears for how funny the whole video was. Bravo, the dramatic music went along just great, you should be the guy that promotes new movies you'd do a good job. This is too funny 👍

Also for the F1 fans that can't see the satire in the vid...I feel bad for you

The instruction to "destroy his race" does not automatically mean that Massa was at fault for that accident. In all likelihood, the order was intended to mean that Massa should be as difficult to pass as possible, not to cause and accident and give Hamilton a penalty. Remember in 2006 when Rubens Barrichello was given the order to "kill him!"? he didn't actually kill anybody. It was just his engineer firing him up, as we know Rob Smedley frequently does.

Far too many people have pounced on this as an example of Hamilton being innocent, and by proxy of that, denying that there is anything wrong with him. You're all reading far too much into it. Especially considering that Massa had the (defensive) racing line going into Turn 7 (officially known as "Memorial"), and Hamilton was in his blind spot. He couldn't hit Hamilton because he couldn't see Hamilton, so how would he know where to aim?

I was waiting for you to say something since you probably didn't get your fill over there on F1 Fanatic. I never said it automatically meant that at all, and if you can find where I did let me know. Also if you go back and read the last part of my post I have not let Hamilton off the hook. Now you say he couldn't hit Hamilton, and you're right, but he knew Hamilton was back there somewhere. He was slowing up Hamilton who was much faster than Massa anyways so an accident happening shouldn't be a surprise in F1 or any other form of racing. When you block a faster car accidents tend to happen, I also still see bias on the anti-hamilton side. I can agree that Hamilton has had issue, Monaco is the jewel in his screw up crown this year, but this time there is evidence though circumstantial gives a sense that there is more to it than an impatient Hamilton. I think since Monza the guy has been trying to keep his nose clean or he and Shumi would have collided.

The above video is one of the most ridiculous things i've ever seen. What's funny about it, is for someone to make such a video with such views the person must actually believe it themselves.

Which is even more ridiculous and funny.

If this guy had seen Senna and Schumacher in their hay days... well he would have a bloody field day!

So you're trying to bait me into commenting, huh? That's called trolling.

Sir I'm only saying that you were most likely going to comment either way since you're the only other person I know from F1 fanatic, something I point out in the comment you quoted from me. Let's not be neglectful, also you should try to be nicer to people who are only wanting to have conversation with you. Lastly I use to troll alot on chats ending about a year ago and Trolling is more so baiting people in with something completely asinine to get a angry reaction so a flame war can ensue. Like saying to a group of religous people "hahahaha god is imaginary" or telling jewish people the holocaust never happened. That's trolling, what I did was try to get some conversation going in a friendly manner, so if you could stop the turf war with me I'd be quite happy.

EDIT:
Which above vid Bigbazz? The satire on Lewis...cause that was funny
Zilla just for that vid I have a surprise to show you a few weeks from now. But I must ask is Alonso your favorite driver?

The video was obviously 100% satire. There wasn't an ounce of seriousness in that video.

[rant]the incident with button, Button knew Lewis was going for the overtake along the wall, Button went so far off the line he needed to be in order to prevent him from overtaking[/rant]

The racing line? The one that, at Montreal, goes from the right side of the track at the Wall of Champions, across to the left side of the track (where, coincidentally, the Pole Position start box is) and then back across to the right through the kink ready for the first left?

Yeah... He was SO far off that line...

Not to mention that Button almost certainly couldn't see where Hamilton was in that incident. Tiny F1 car mirrors + massive plumes of spray = not a lot of visibility. I'd be surprised even if Hamilton knew exactly where Jenson was in that incident.

Ahhh.... Yea... I see that now... I wasnt too sure of that line through there... Fixing that bit now...

Nothing new here... Jackie Stewart is basically saying what some of us have been saying here... Lewis has immense talent, but his mental state during a race is questionable.

‘Stupid’ was the way Michael Schumacher described Lewis Hamilton’s tactics at the end of qualifying in Japan on Saturday. With the McLaren driver lifting off before beginning his last flying lap, both the Mercedes and Mark Webber’s Red Bull were forced to dive around the 2008 title winner as they approached the Casio Triangle.

“Luckily nobody else went out again – well, I mean Kobayashi in particular - to set another lap because I would have been shy by probably a second,” Schumacher explained to reporters after qualifying seventh, with Kamui Kobayashi and both Renaults also not setting times.

“It was a bit stupid, at the last chicane everybody was driving so slow. I saw my time and knew I had to go quicker – but I didn’t make it by a second.

“I had Webber in front; he had to slow down because Hamilton slowed down, but I don’t know what he had to slow down for. He pushed me out onto the grass (run-off area). But we are getting the maximum out of the car, so I’m happy.”

The body language of today's top three qualifiers speaks volumes. As you can imagine Vettel is very happy, relaxed, chatting away. Jenson is much the same - he and Vettel are joking away like they were at a track day or karting weekend! But Lewis is constantly separated, stiff and unemotional. You have to say it was Lewis' fault not to get a final qualifying lap in, but you also have to think all this is linked in some way.

He needs a reset. I don't think the end of this season can come quick enough for him.
