Which car was your 1st purchase? (Or will be your 1st, if you don't have GT4 yet...)

that viper isnt a bad idea. but i wanna muscle car because with 113000 credits any car i get will win with out me trying. and i want to hear V8s non stop.

does any 1 no of a list of the cars you can race in arcade mode when you first start?

i think i'll start out with either the Trueno, an older Skyline (if i can) or an S13 or S14 Silvia (once again, if i can)

needless to say, i'll be transfering however many credits i can in the North American Version from GT3

i first buy a 350Z or the genius Garaiya!
These are real driving pleasure cars!
Can't wait to lighten the Garaiya a little more^^

I also was thinking about transferring those GT3 credits but if you then could buy a Viper SRT-10 immediatly, there isn't any challenge left so if you start complaining,IF, about the AI once you have the game you might want to think about buying an other car other than a Viper, HHHOOOWWWEEEEVVVEERRRR it's one of the most beautifull cars I've seen yet so.........maye I'll buy it without racing it and then win a liscence car to keep the challenge :) :)

I bought a Trueno, equipped it with a sports muffler and a chip, went on passing all licences, drove some missions (m.hall) and realized that I had enough money to buy
a Evo, tune it to 350 hp, before even driving one single race with the Trueno...

That was by far too easy, and I think that one shouldn't be allowed to do missions hall before completing 10% or so, I always liked starting with a lowhorsepowercar and slowly tune it up.....I want the hp-system of GT2 back, who cares about a-spec points anyway?

For beginners they should 've added a easy mode instead, well looking foward to GT5 on PS3.... ;)

The Buick special isn't any great shakes at handling as you can imagine, but it's an amazing car for sheer muscle.

Is that a real car? It looks like something the lowriders would just love, and 650 some odd horses stock?

I think you will start with 10,000 credits like in GT1 and 2. I'm guessing that would be 1,000,000 credits in the japanese version so anything less than 1,000,000 credits in the GT4 car list. I'm thinking mabey a used Civic Type R 👍 .
But don't you get more Credits if you have a GT3 save on your card? Either way, I'm also going to look at a used Civic Type-R. If I get more credits because of my GT3 save, a new Type-R. ;)

Probably Trueno.
I heard that chaser_fan stared with an EVO. I better search for that.

Edit : I find it :D
Quote from Proud owner of Japanese GT4 thread :
I picked up a Mitsu Lancer VI TME (complete with steel wheels and black plastic door handles and mirrors) for 1,200,000Y and have since pushed it up to 360ps.
Note : Used cars - Mitsubishi Lancer VI TME.

I'm gonna go for a used car, probably a beat, and max it out after a few races, And probably use it until it blows up.

By then I should be able to get a 440/RT

Definately a civic type R '98 (EK9) because of it's light weight, power, and handling are just perfect.... for me :)

definitely NOT a Pt cruiser. Yes, laugh. I was not exactly the brightest in gt3, and it cost me having to do that freakin sunday cup about a million times to buy a real car. I'm not too excited about the temptation to transfer gt3 credits over, seems like getting quite a head-start...oh well
i dunno what car i'll get yet

I've always started my GT games with a line up of Honda cars, 91 Prelude VTEC, EG6, EK9, etc etc, so I think I'll mix it up a bit and get an R32 GTS-T, MK1 GTi, or 510. And I don't plan on using the money transfer either. The best part is the beginning where you're struggling to make funds!

Well, I agree... but in GT4 you are not forced to go step by step and that's sad. Ok, you don't have to import the money from GTP ( I also didn't do that ), but you still have the mission's hall and there you can easily make enough money to buy a used 4WD sports car a la EVO or STi or whatever.... I mean ok, you don't HAVE to make missions in the beginning, but they're easy (first ones) ...so I passed them and I think also a lot of other people did too...

You are NOT FORCED, and that sucks....the same with a spec points, I mean OK I can race with a little Fiat against Sti,GT-R & co to get 250 aspec points, but who cares?
A number in statistics.... I want the system of GT 2 back, PS classes and other strict regulations; there you have to drive good against competitive rivals to get the cup...
Nowadays everybody likes to play games, the pro as well as the beginner, ok why not, put in a "easy mode" and that's it...well I guess I'm getting too far away from this thread's subject right now, so ....

If memory serves me, my 1st car in GT3 was the Toyota Vitz (Yaris in Europe). The only reason I bought it was because I could make money running it in it's own series. It was a truly dreadful car to drive (I really don't like FF cars), so I think that was punishment enough for buying a car for the sole purpose of making money. :yuck:
Though if I had to do it all over again (and I will with GT4), I'll probably go with a FR car like the Trueno or a Lotus Carlton (if I can afford it).

hmmm that kinda sucks... so there's no real "structure"? I liked being forced to drive the slower cars. I know you mentioned you could race for A Spec points but yeah, who cares.

oh and do you use your own car for missions? or is it like a specialised license test.
