Which car was your 1st purchase? (Or will be your 1st, if you don't have GT4 yet...)

I'm pretty sure that the evo 6 TME that Chaser_fan bought can be bought with your starting cash.
I really hope so 👍
And you can also sell your cars those that you recive after completing the licenses test. Just tune it up for those money and you've got a great car to begin with :D

Civicbus
hmmm that kinda sucks... so there's no real "structure"? I liked being forced to drive the slower cars. I know you mentioned you could race for A Spec points but yeah, who cares.

oh and do you use your own car for missions? or is it like a specialised license test.

Yes, there is no structure ! I think PD wanted to please everybody, and the whole thing went in the wrong direction....

The Missions are really cool, but you don't use your own car, which is important for the fun of these missions, but you can make enough money within 15 minutes to buy
a EVO, and that is not good...

Well I can clearly remember people complaining about the the horsepower entry system of GT 2, but that was most fun...

I hope it retourns in GT 5, because GT is a lot (great game with fine grafics etc) but
it's in no way challening - yes you have to learn the" ring " by heart for some licence tests, and 12 or so missions are hard but all the cups and factory races become a one man show in 75% ...

A 97 FTO GR, just because its better aesthetically than a Civic type r :D, no i wont be using any GT# import save advantage. But i will be using Nos :)

HRT427c
has any one driven the BUICK special? is it any good at handling?

Yes, that car is a real blast to drive. Leave it stock except for a limited slip, put some decent tires on it, and it is a real ringer in alot of races.Fun to watch on replays, too. Especially when you run it in arcade mode and the thing is one-wheel-peelin' all the way down the straight at Grand Valley in 6th gear

:) I think I'll go for a FR, (not any type of Skyline), can you buy the Triumph Spitfire straight away?
But get something along those lines and stick road/control tyres on it just to make it more of a challenge, tried it on Prologue with M5 concept with road tyres, tc off, manual on Citta di Aria :D , great fun, looking forwrd to March 9th

I don't get why you guys would transfer credits from GT3 to GT4. That takes away half the fun of the game, building up from nothing to a garage full with race monsters. I'll start off with some crappy car, definitely a used one. In GT1 I started with a very old prelude, it didn't even look like a sporty car yet in that version. That's how I love to play the game. I won't use the cars I win with licenses either to win races.

Maybe I'll get myself an ancient Toyota MR2 or something when I finally get GT4.

Here is how I view mission halls. No I don't have GT4 but I've read enough to get an idea of what it is...

I'm not going to use mission hall early on in the game. As a few people on the board said, the beginning is the most fun. Turning a garage with one crappy car into a garage with 30+ nicely tuned sports cars. I plan on leaving out the mission halls till much later on in the game, where money doesn't really mean too much. And I plan on using low powered cars to gain high A-spec points as well.

I do think that mission hall is a great idea though. Think about it guys, it sets you up in a controled environment. You have this one car, and you can't improve its performance no matter how much money you have. And with that one car, you have to go and do some set task (come back from last place with 2 laps to go). Its a good judge of skill.

I think that mission hall is a good idea, just wish you had to unlock them (like the first 2 or 3 are already there, but the 4th one doesn't come up until you have 5% complete. Then the 5th at 10%, and so on and so forth. Being able to do all of them from the start messes up the fun from starting small. But it doesn't matter because you don't have to do it. Just do what I plan on doing, wait till later on to attempt to do them :)

No not really, Not even close to half, once you see how many cars you'll have already just from the license test. Get all silvers and you could sell all those cars before you have to enter your first race. Well at least from what I've read of the jpn version.

Well, fine of course you can do that, but since you are not "FORCED" to make progress as you described (would be my favorite, too) it is only half the fun....
Believe me, aspec points etc sounds interesting in the beginning, and short time after you end up driving with the car you like most for every class, and then there is no competitive racing left.... don't get me wrong, I love GT 4 but the system of GT2 was by far better...I want a challenge, and not one generated by myself by driving a lowpower machine against super cars.... force me, and I'll do it and have my fun with it....but when I know I could also take a powerful car it is as I said half the fun....

GT1-93 MA70 Supra
GT2-92 Mirage Cyborg R
GT3-85 AE86 Trueno type II
GT4- Either the AE86 Trueno or 89 Galant VR4 seeing as im not "cheating" with importable credits

And plus to all of you complaining about lack of structure/ challenge or think a-spec points have no relevence or importance I think that thats where the challenge lies and I also think that you have to be creative and create challenges of your own.

I also see GT4 as a driving game not a racing game
I noticed this at the end of GT3 when i was driving a 190hp Alto fully tuned by SSR
and KY/PD have given us 600/700 cars to do what we want with!! so guys if it bothers you all that much then go create your own challenges!.

yah I'm probly way off topic now
I hope i didn't sound too harsh :)
am sorry if I did

In answer to an earlier question I remember reading in an American motoring magazine that it won a contest and was put in the game because of that

It is so much easier to make money in GT4 even if you don't bother to get the cash (maximum of 100,000 in PAL/US versions... 1,000,000 in the Japanese of course).

You can buy a used Lancer Evo after maybe one race in the license Lupo. Then you do Special Condition 2 and money is no longer a problem.

Skyline R-32
GT1 - Supra 2,5
GT2 - FTO
GT3 - Never played :)
GT4 - I think, a wagon Volvo..

Dude, head out to your local EB or Gamestop. You can buy GT3 used for about 3 or 6 bucks, no joke. It'll tide you over until gt4! :)

'85 SAVANNA RX-7 GT-Limited (FC)

nice car to start out with. only negative is its alot better than the cars you will be racing against in the first few cups so you wont get as many pts as you could. meh.. dont even care about pts anymore. its all about the $$ :dopey: 👍

Hello all, first post and all that! :)

When the UK-PAL version is released i'll most probably start out with a Silvia S14 and tune it and win every FR race that i can with it.

But that is after doing the licences and seeing what they bring. That will be on one memory card, playing the slow development route, just doing races once and moving on.

But on a second memory card, i'll start by transfering the credits and licences from GT3 and/or Prologue, and i'll then play this card to get as many credits and cars as fast as possible.

So this way i get twice as much fun out of it.

Black 300ZX!!!
Didn't have the money to by my 350Z right away. Raced one race and had enough to get the 300ZX which was loads faster than the cars I had won through the tests and such. (have the japanese version, prolly buy the US version when it comes out too...)

SHould add...
Asside from the cars I won through the tests already...
I have
Nissan Fairlady 240ZG (HS30) ('71)
Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX (Z31) ('83)
Nissan Fairlady Z Twin Turbo 2seater ('89)
Nissan Fairlady Z Ver. R Twin Turbo 2by2 ('98)
Nissan Fairlady Z Version ST (Opt. Wheel) ('02)

Still have to get one more Twin Turbo and the 280 and then all the other available Z's are just modified 350s. :) ZLovin It!

I'm after a VR4 or an early EVO I,II or III they are incredibly common in NZ and kind of cool. I have gt3 and probably won't resist the urge to import credits or licenses.

To all the people seeking an s14 why not get your license and start with the 270R admittedly if you are looking for the build your car up challenge you have a great head start but it is cost effective allowing you to diversify with an additional car as well as basically getting your Nissan Silvia/200sx

so what are the starting creds....

im hoppen to buy a S14 or RX7-FC

but for the challenge i might start with a AE86......and find out some drift settings

GT1-np
GT2-MX5-sucked
GT3-tureno........

I love RWD...and drifting.......cant wait till i get this game

Hey, can you buy a Focus ST170 with the amount of money that you start with?
On Maskriders site, the price for the ST170 is 3,275,000.

For my first car, I think I'll prolly pick a Cooper One or maybe a Celica GT-R(91)
