Which car was your 1st purchase? (Or will be your 1st, if you don't have GT4 yet...)

In the first GT my first car was a Honda CRX, in GT2 it was the supercharged AW11 MR2, and in GT3 it was the AE86 Sprinter Trueno. For GT4, I've heard the AW11 MR2 is really fun and more challenging with the new physics model, so I might try that again. Or I've never tried starting with a Miata before but that seems like it would be another good well-rounded choice. Unless I find something a little more interesting, old, and rare, like the old Mitsubishi Galant VR4 or a late 80's Accord or maybe even the Volvo 240 wagon. I'm not sure how often those will appear in the used lots, but I know I'll be able to find some kind of Miata or Honda at the very least.

How much do you start out with?

EDIT: BTW, are there any videos of the ST170 or the Focus RS in action?
In the Japanese version you start off with 1,000,000 credits.

Sorry, haven't stumbled across any videos.

I am anxious to drive the RS.

im transferring my gt3 credits for sure :) but thats so i can have a car to mess around with on the side to tune but not race.

otherwise id probably start with a mid 80's toyota levin.

What about the cheapo way

You only need to pass the license test to get a car so im thinking of just getting a b license then grogressing to A to get a bunch of cars so i don't have to buy any

But thinking about it do u need a car to get to the license centre if u do damn my dream is ruined Or do u need a certain % to do a license if so damn again

In the European version you start of with 10.000 credits. Transferring 100.000 from GT3, is a no-go for me. I'll do it from scratch. I want to have gold in the first Licence tests, that gives me 3 cars, including a VW Lupo 1.4 16v It has 100 hp and spending the 10.000 I have on a muffler, an oil change, nice wheels, weight reduction stage one and a racing chip. Should be a good car by then, since it should have at around 115 hp then. Way more competitive than buying an old CRX or Civic with loads of power, compared to the Lupo.

i'll have the Skyline GTS - T please. 👍 I downloaded someone's car list. Forgot who's it was....

That's the car that I've had for both GT1 and GT2 as a starter...

Quick enough to win the early races unmodded and when modded up could win some of the next lot of races... Especially with stage 4 turbo and decent tyres & brakes...

Next car on the ladder was the standard Impreza... that beast once fully done up in GT1 & GT2 could win almost every single race...

I had to change to the Yaris for GT3 due to the no-used car garage!!

I wouldn't mind a Skyline RS Turbo depending on price but I guess that won't be an issue if I use my GT3 save. Oh or maybe a Toyota Levin or Trueno or any other car in that family, too many chooses lol

I don't planning to transfer my GT3 and GTP saves on GT4, so I'll buy a low cost-high speed car, like Honda Prelude SiR '96, Mazda Savanna RX-7 efini '90, Mazda Savanna RX-7 GT-X '90, or Nissan Silvia K's '91

yea thats a good point. now that i think of it more id kinda wanna start with a white 2.5gt soarer since this is one of the rare games i ever see my car in :( cept gt2, txrzero, and maybe a few i dont know about. but they never seemed to be modelled right to me.

i rekon the rx7 savanna or the skyline, i looked at the prices and its a shame that the old toyota supra 1991 i think is just over 1,000,000 credits or 10,000, as it does have 276 hp

Get a car or two from the liscense test, or some extra cash from mission hall... Both don't require a car to do...

I will get extra money from GT3 save, but not the licenses. And then I plan to get all licenses, before I start the game. If possible all gold. I'll just drive licenses, untill I get bored of repeating :D. That should get me a car or two with which I can start the game. Money will be there to use it, just in case. I don't plan to buy a brand new car with it right away ...

Started GT3 with a Trueno, for the first time, and second time did all gold licenses first so my first purchase was a bit later on ... I believe it was a TT ...

Started GT2 with nailing some licenses, but got bored soon. Did get that S2000 thou :D

Started GT1 with gold licenses too and got that Supra for first few races. I bought a Viper GTS later :).

Mine was an used 83 Sprinter Trueno. When I get the US version and import my GT3 save, then it will be the Amuse S2000.

I'm not exactly sure what I am actually going to PURCHASE first because i'm going to start out with some of the cars that I'll win in licenses. Maybe I'll get a used Supra, or a smaller lighter car like a focus, and tune it. Not sure though, I've rather just use the prize cars if they are as good as in the Japanese version.

Im not going to transfer my GT3 credits. Its more fun for me to take what you are givin, And work your way up. I hope to find a decent Amarican made car from the used car lot, And go from there. I just recently got a DFP wheel, So ill probably have to take a good bit of time to get used to it at first. Ive been practicing some with GT3. But someone said the wheel has a little bit different feel with GT4. Anyway, I just like to start out with a car that is just (ok.) And earning myself a lot of high powerd monsters.

Its been a long wait, Im ready for some GT4 action!

Hi there!
I will import the credits from my GT3 save, but the NISMO 270 from the license will go a long way as "first car."
As I recall GT2 it`s a pretty sweet ride(Nissan Silvia, with Skyline engine?)
The credits will come in handy, when I need specific cars for the manufactor races.
Also, there`s the 4 black LM`s on day 694 to consider, credit wise...

If you don't know already, you can view which cars are available to purchase with the initial 1,000,000 credits here. Most of the names are links to pictures of the various cars.

My first car will either be the Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 or the Toyota BITZ! Euro Sport Edition.

Then maybe upgrade to an Evo 6 RS TME or an S2000 Type V '01.

We'll see which Evo/WRX I choose later.
