I didn't race yesterday evening so I'm not one of your "impatient" elise 111R's hopefully but since you mention the 'rules' I thought I'd share my understanding of them because the amount of people who I accept are not punters but would rather cause a crash than have an elise come past them has been pretty poor for me recently. I'm not directing this post at anyone in particular though.

Person in the lead gets to choose their line fair enough but what is not OK is to choose a tight apex line and then suddenly choose a wide line mid corner when you see the elise coming around the outside. The last right hander of the esses comes to mind here. That's not defensive driving its just causing a crash in my view as the elise will already be committed to a fairly large speed difference into what was originally an empty bit of track.

In my opinion that's the very definition of defensive driving. It's got nothing to do with you driving an elise either, I'm sure whatever car you were in the guy infront would defend his position. Also, tight in wide out!? That's just good race craft.

I'm not talking about tight in wide out, more like going in tight and then going wide even before the middle of the corner and doing so while the elise is partially alongside.

Just in a race there minding my own business when an impatient lotus rams me off track (dunlop curve) So i get back on and catch him up and he rams another driver off. I think this was his plan so we couldn't pass him on straight !

There is some nice racing out there though : )

Ive been out in my f430 for the last our or so. Not the fastest, but i love the noise and twitchyness.

Edit: just seen you out on track rutter. I was in the White Ferrari. Did you see me get spun out at casino? I saw you towards the back of the pack a little later on, I guess the same happened to you no!? lol. Just after I got back on your bumper an elise punted me off too! Can't wait for private lobbies. Seriously!!

I think i remember that! Me and lotus ellises don't get on very well! Was it a green lotus that punted you?

I don't know how but iv found half a second in free air!

It doesn't matter what car you in Plume, I have raced you many many times to know you fast and clean. I would not worry at all if my mirrors were crowded with you behind me 👍

what sort of times are you boys running ,gtp5 is quite new to me ,just come over from forza 3 because microsofts wheel just dont cut it and the physics in forza are nowhere near as good as gtp5 with g27 and pro settings ,i have had a few bad experiences myself online with being knock off, some people have no line at all they go flying in to the corner like a kamacaze pilot the front always pushes out and you become the barrier,im not the fastest but i do like to race hard and clean, hope to see a few of u on track

Saw a couple of races i would of liked to be involved in. Yesterday i saw synrraith and a couple more GTP guys out in f40s. Also, el zissou was out on track with a whole grid of f430s. Are these just races between mates or have i missed a thread/chat somewhere?

F430s; that was tuneless tuesday "TuTu" over at PSN forums.

Some good races yesterday, with little or no ramming!

Though the Lotus 111's sometimes are impatient; they should check the 'rules' as the car in the lead gets to choose his/her line right!

I was in a Lotus the night in question & was driving very patiently indeed, off the throttle through the esses & 1 gear down in places behind slower cars. I like driving like that & had a few really close races with PM3GTR & PureGT_Kevin, gettijng close but making no contact is something I relish doing. That said the corners are really the only place an Elise can over take so if you make a mistake in your line I will be coming through, part of racing is knowing how to be overtaken & giving room after all, I had no problems with any GT Planet members, just the bloody minded public punters as per usual & some awful lag in a few races too!

The only other 111R's on track I remember was papnase (DE) in a green Lotus, he was ramming people left, right & centre all night long. The other was a spanish guy (GTro member I think) racing with out a tag, can't remember his name but it started with an L, I ended getting pushed off track by him, as he don't speak no English we couldn't sort it out so I just gave him the benifit of the doubt that it was just a racing incident.

Yes sir, some fine racing available every day of the week with the guys from PSN. Here was the event you were gridded with:

Thanks for waiting for me along with SDEF when I went off in Dunlop. I only did 2 free run laps before the event so I didn't have that turn quite figured out yet. You tried to avoid me when I came up behind you, but I was only going to give you a love tap to help you get going again to thank you for waiting :dopey:

Unfortunately, I only got one race in last night.

Thanks for that, I couldn't remember his 'handle'; he/she is the punter! 👎

Yes, I am one of those 'slower' cars :); it is still fun though 👍

Tried a Clio but too twitchy for me

Still looking for a lotus tune :sly:

Cheers CrazyT but if you're not worried then I need to go faster ;)

Heres a Lotus 111R tune I've been working on. The easiest one to drive I've tried so far but might not be the fastest. 58's are in my reach with it though. It gives more front end as you speed up and more rear end when you slow down, sweet. Rides the curbs in casio like they aren't there.

power +17
weight 115%
R1 R3
Aero 20 25
Ride -13 -13
Spring 4 6
Damp 4 4
Toe -0.10 0.00
Camber 2.4 1.8
Brake 7 5
Turn 50
TC off
ABS 1
1st 2.870
2nd 1.948
3rd 1.551
4th 1.216
5th 0.992
6th 0.811
Final 4.827

Use 2nd for hairpin only
3rd for turrn 1 (2nd apex), degner 2, casio.
4th for esses and spoon.
You could reduce 5 and 6 for hot lapping but this has room for slipstream in the race.

I think A lot of people don't get that point, that the tuned Elise MUST over take in the corners, it is the only place it can pass against most cars, even with the ridiculous draft. I actually stopped using it because it was too hard to pass even though it was the only car I can run 58's in consistently. The only real place I found to pass was to get to the left of someone as they setup for the final left out of the esses, but they would turn in as if I wasn't there and go off when they hit me, even though I'm riding the inside curb and they have plenty of room.

One thing this got me thinking about, if they make the draft more realistic in GT5, people will be forced to do more passing and go side by side in corners. It will change things quite a bit.

I was aiming my comments at the lotus 111r rammers and punters :); though they are probably never going to read posts in the GTP_ Forums!

Though I know the esses is where the GTr-07 is not as limber; and the lotus 111r's like to pounce; I still try and keep them behind me :)

i-PLUME. I've used one of your tune for the Amuse 800pp and imediately improve my time. Hopefully this will aswell. Thanks for sharing man.

sorry if i write this in the wrong section but could someone please tell me if prologue is mic compatable and if so how do i get it to work , cheers gents.

Yes I know they are, I organised an inter forum event between GT Drivers, GTHQ & GTro & we had some awesome races last month in the Clio on Suzi 550. That's why I gave him the benifit of the doubt.

iplume, you are super fast in that 111R of yours, I think I'll try your tune, thanks for sharing. My best is a 2'00.653 in clean air, I'm mostly in the high 2'00's to low 201's in a race, I drive it cos I enjoy it although I'm not as fast as some of you guys here.

Just a shame that there was lag in every race for me yesterday, I left after a few as I hate racing with it & always worry about my car lagging & punting someone off without me knowing!

GTP_BlacqueJack, I enjoyed our racing the other night & I hope for more of the same throughout this month mate.

Thanks to GT5_police, DorDude BTH guys for the great race:tup:
GT5_police is driving like:crazy: the evolution.something 58highs i thing:scared:
best time i've manage 1:58:990 with the cali, of course with slip:sly:

Wednesday nite raced a little; not always matching which is frustrating

Disapponting when you see a 6 car grid only to have 3-4 of them pull off at the start to go drifting :indiff:

To each their own but their smoke from drifting in turn 1 (in reverse direction) distracted me into forgetting to brake :ouch: So much for staying close to the leader!

Too bad the drifters tires wouldn't shred (simulated) and they would have to go and buy another set of tires off the track ! :sly:

Had a great race last night with a guy from Japan is his Evo IX/Tuned vs my Corvette Z06/Tuned, the cars had very different strengths and weaknesses so it was fun playing to those.:) Then TT-R had some races, but I only got 1 before I went to bed for work this morning. In that 1 race I had a great 3-way battle with Tizz and Toivo.
