For the moment, GT500 cars for Div 1 is Full.

There are four spots available for GT300. Please see post 1.

What is your location? Wheel/Pad user?

PA, USA
i switch between pad and wheel but for racing i use the DFP:GT
i'll see if i can find a GT300 in used cars

These cars are the only ones available for the GT300 class at the moment.

Subaru Cusco Dunlop Impreza '08
Autobacs Arta Garaiya '08
RE Amemiya Asparadrink RX7 '06

Masi is your lounge still open for practice? I might pop in for some practice lap later on

I'm in.

dantedani36 - Helsinki Finland - G25 - Subaru Cusco Dunlop Impreza '08

question: are we using racing tires?

It was a few minutes ago but i lost my connection from time warner. Should be back on again in a few minutes.

@ dante - tires are unrestricted.

If you need to fill out the GT300 grid, I suppose I could have a go. I'm racing GT500 in *that other series*, so it'd be a nice change.

PSN: Neomone

Wheel: DFGT
Region: Japan, using US copy of GT5.

I guess I would like to sign up for division 2 if I can.

PSN: jujubean14
Car: Takata NSX
Wheel: Driving Force EX
Region: US Northeast

It seems like there is a lot of interest in this, so maybe we should even break it up region-wise?

Actually I just realized I bought the old Takata NSX ('03) so I guess I will have to sit this out :(

If it comes down to it I'd suggest just dividing GT300 and GT500 classes. I think the realism associated with having both classes run simultaneously is outweighed by having more racers of the same class in a lounge. It's potentially safer as well since you don't have to worry about traffic.

I will update the first post once i get on to my PC.
Seems like theres a bit of a confusion on who needs to go where.

@CoconutComa - I think ill let it stay as it is right now. Having the lower class mixed in adds more fun and a different racing dimension compared to the ussual IMHO. Agree? I think the added the danger makes it more exciting.

Hopefully, more people will turn out for practice tomorrow. I will open the room early to accomodate drivers from across the pond or wherever.

Hence the "if it comes down to it" part. I agree, but there's also the fine line between exciting and frustrating! There are many ways to go about this but we'll figure that out when the time comes.

I actually think it's more interesting having the two classes mixed as well. 8 players of your own class is more than enough for some battles, and having to deal with different paced cars adds strategy to it. I think it's often difficult for people in that they're not used to backing off behind a slower car and waiting for a safe opportunity to pass. Likewise, the slower cars have to be constantly vigilant that they're not about to be taken out from behind by a faster overtaker. It's a whole level of awareness that's really good for people to develop.

The only problem I see is a lack of love for the GT500 NSXs. :) Come on people!

This is only pre-season. I'm deciding between the Xanavi Z and the Takata NSX. Whichever one I think gives me the better lap times will be the car I'm using. Over the 3 week preseason I'll be giving them both runs on multiple tracks. 👍

I wish i can have a better reply but im editing the first post at the moment.

Anyway, I find that the Lexus has a tad bit of more understeer compared to the GTR so i might have to switch to the Yellowhat YMS. I'll test out the NSX tomorrow.

p.s. i cant' find an option to up a poll (to decide raceday/racetime)... where can i find this?

Specwise the Z is the faster car. You saw how much faster it was around the track in the race on Sunday, had it not been involved in several incidents it would have destroyed us. On a straight there was absolutely no way I could keep up with it in the ARTA NSX.

It's a shame there isn't a ballast system in GT5. We could have implemented the winner's ballast system that Super GT has. That would have made it very interesting week to week.

It's on the top right corner of the thread in thread tools. A drop down menu will come out with a poll option.

Interestingly enough Sail IC told me he tested his NSX and his Z on Fuji and found no difference in lap times. Assuming he spoke the truth, a possible explanation is that the initial torque of the Z really helps on Suzuka where the straights are relatively short compared to fuji.

I'll tell you what Imari. If we find you a Takata NSX we should team up to bring the NSX to victory! If not we can join team Rayburg.

I liked the Z because it's the ONLY Z there. The NSX is a truly fantastic looking car. I'm just not used to the MR platform which is why I opted for the Z.

That's quite interesting. There also the likely explanation that he's just a much, much better driver than I am. Which is probably the most likely. :D

I agree, the Z is cool because it's unique. The NSX is great, but it is a tough drive too so I understand why people don't like it. It's a shame there's not that much variety in the field of cars provided, it would be cool to have a couple of privateer Ferrari/Lamborghini/Astons in there. Hopefully PD puts some more in later on. Fingers crossed for the HSV-010.

Yeah, let's not just put it all on the car. He is fast. His fastest was 1:55 which, for one reason or another, I was literally spewing out two days before. I wish my A-game was there that day!

I was wondering if someone would use the supra for the races. It's unique as well but it's also the least appealing because it's down in terms of specs.

Please See Post 1 for important update!

Poll will come up soon.

Qualifying will also be revised.

I'll express my thoughts about the rule you just posted.

1. What if a person cannot choose a leftover car because the only cars they have access to were already taken?

2. Would it be interesting to have an inverse relationship between car choice and grid position? For example a person qualifying fastest may be last in their class on the grid but chooses their preferable car? Or vice versa. There are problems associated with this, so I'm just throwing out ideas.

3. In general I like the idea.

4. Will we qualify each and every race for car choice or is it a one time deal? If it's a one time deal please disregard number 2. lol
