Round 1 of the 1995 World Rally Championship is complete, Mont-Carlo took no prisoners in a rally that took on the best and won.
46 entered, 14 finished, massive well done to the 14 who made it to the end.
@GOTMAXPOWER held his nerve in the Mistubishi to take victory by just 2.7 seconds over
@Speedster502 and his Escort Cosworth in an immense battle for the win.
@Hasnain282 made the podium in his Toyota Celica only a further 8 tenths of a second back. The top 3 separated by just 3.6 seconds 🤯, with 3 different cars represented.
A difficult event for Subaru with a number of top drivers falling by the wayside. Leaving
@FrankieStail to collect a good handful of points for the Japanese marque who were hoping to build on the strong finish to their 1994 campaign. Ford will be delighted with a very strong showing once again at Monte-Carlo after Francois Delecours win last season, and 4 cars inside the top 10 this time around, with 3 of those qualifying for points. Mitsubishi will be the happiest team though, taking a strong top spot, also with 3 of the 4 finishers scoring points. Toyota will be happy with the debut of the ST205 in terms of pace, but after losing one of the expected top runners in the first stage, there's work to do ahead of Sweden to get the full contingent of cars back up and running.

The real 1995 Monte-Carlo rally took place over 547 competitive kilometers across 21 stages and saw Carlos Sainz take the opening victory for Subaru, beating Delecour and his Escort by nearly 2 and a half minutes, with Juha Kankkunen taking 3rd for Toyota (mimicking 2nd and 3rd in our series). Tommi Makinen placed 4th for Mitsubishi almost 5 minutes off the pace.
Similar to our event, it was a tough one to finish, 199 crews began the rally, just 82 made it to the finish.
