Before I started playing, I didn't know of (I was a toddler when I started playing GT3):

Alfa Romeo
Citroen
Daihatsu
Gillet
Lancia
Lister
Lotus
Opel
Pagani
Panoz
Renault
RUF
Tickford
Tommykaira
TVR

Then GT4:
Chaparral
Cizeta
Hommell

Thanks GT. 👍

My case:

Alfa Romeo - Gran Turismo 2
Citroen - seen several old ones on the streets in my home country, although they're pretty rare
Daihatsu - a lot are on the streets of my home country
Gillet - browsing the GT4 car list
Lancia - Sega Rally (Sega Saturn)
Lister - Gran Turismo 2
Lotus - Gran Turismo 2
Opel - seen some in my home country
Pagani - browsing NFS Carbon car list, but previously seen a Zonda C12 on a back cover without knowing its name
Panoz - Midtown Madness 2
Renault - Formula 1
RUF - Gran Turismo 2
Tickford - just read about it a few years ago in a Speedhunters article
Tommykaira - Gran Turismo 2
TVR - Test Drive 5
Chaparral - browsing the GT4 car list
Cizeta - browsing the GT4 car list
Hommell - browsing the GT4 car list

But, yeah, I did know a lot from GT. Knew Acura, Vector, and Venturi from GT too.

I knew about the car before GT6...because it was in Car Town. XD
As a matter of fact, it was on my GT6 wishlist.

I also already knew about the Renault R8 Gordhini before GT6.

As I even saw one in person. Shame I didn't participate in the forums much less I knew about DYSSGT thread.

A DAF car like this

Honda Integra SJ. SJ meaning "Sedan Joyful". Basically a Civic Ferio sold in Honda's Verno dealers. Similar to Mazda selling different cars through Eunos dealers. Nothing really special, uses the D15B engine.

Also sold in Thailand as the Isuzu Vertex.

I had no idea that Mazda re-badged Fiestas as 121's:

This beautiful looking Renault:

I knew of the Forester, but never knew they did an STi one:

Seeing one of those parked up on a Ford forecourt years ago was a little bemusing.

Not many were sold here since most people plumped for the Fiesta without knowing of the 121s existence, and it was pulled from the UK market when the facelift went on sale elsewhere in Europe. But they did only differ cosmetically, even though people who did buy 121s say they're more reliable than the equivalent Fiesta. Nothing to do with them being badged as Japanese models though.

Actually, Gran Turismo's Panoz was featured in Midtown Madness 1 to start with. Besides, MM's Panoz was better than GT's.

Umm...uhhh...ok?

I was only stating where I got to know some automotive brands, not saying what game did they first appear in, or something along the lines of that. I didn't say that Panoz's first video game appearance was in Midtown Madness 2.

Jameson Concorde, a 1765 hp street legal beast. It was owned by the Dutch Autotron museum in the 80s-90s, but I have no idea of its current whereabouts...

Oh yeah. Thanks. I understand.

Yeah I think there was only 10 built.

Or maybe I am thinking of the ASC McLaren Capri.

Either way the early Saleen Capris are rare, much rarer than the mid 80s ones which are still hard to find.
