pardon my ignorance,

I remember using the 2J some 5 in-game patches ago, on the Daytona Oval, and this car handled horribly , couldn't even hold the line for the simple left only turns. understeered, and I thought this car was so overrated, didn't touch it ever again since, but did notice and wonder at the countless 2J threads on GTplanet ever since.

you mean to say this car can do fastest laptimes on the 73 unique undulating curves at the Nurburgring??

somebody please prove this wrong, or am i missing something?

Look at the leaderboards, the numbers don't lie.

It does understeer but that's easy enough to tune out. It also sticks like glue as long as you keep the fan over the tarmac and stay off the kerbs ... break suction and it flies into walls. I've rolled it three times today already, LOL.

If I remember right, one of the patches specifically addressed the 2J ... not sure what it did since I don't use the car much.

I'm not participating in any of these TTs this time. These are my worst 2 tracks and I'm not gonna try and do well this time.

Down to P8 now, looks like tomorrow I'll have to get back at it.
I'd love to break into 7s but that's so hard... I never had a flawless lap, on my current as I've said I horribly messed up Adenauer Forst.
With a flawless lap I'd get 8s, with an amazing lap I'd break 7s but I don't see 6s and 5s at all and that's the problem.
I watched Amo's replay and his car slides into the corners whereas mine doesn't, might try some different ARB setups, we'll see...

Does anyone know where i could find the number of participants for any given time trial? It seems as much info as the game captures, it would be a no brainer. I just went to the US GT official site. would love to know for previous TT's to see how I did overall... what percentile act. and track improvement over time.

Hey. I saw your question about this in the TT33 thread and was able to give the info for the London TT event in my response in that thread:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=6988553#post6988553

Hope that helps!

Thanks to Fobia's fantastic tune, I did a lot better than even I imagined. After about three hours of trying (not getting a single clean lap), finally managed my first clean lap with a 6'22.507, which got me to 235 (for now). This is my highest ever rank in any TT. I'm very happy that I did better than my goal of top 500.

I'm getting a good feel for the setup now and will try to break in to 6'20's.

This was done in my other account (mardi8) and not the GTP account.

Just did about an hour stint at Spa in the Audi R8 RC '05 (Audi Playstation Team Oreca) Best time was 1:57.670, good for 354th at the moment. Not a very good time so far but here is my tune if anyone is interested.

Aero 60/85

EXT 8/3

I have a spare 2J I can put it online if you want, it has a decent 600pp setup from the suzuka TT on it for ya.

Sweet TTs, did one lap at Spa, 56.4, awful lap though. :(

If you dont mind i will accept your offer :)
I will run may be tomorow or saturday.

Currently 108th with the Mazda Furai '08 with 6:18.245, just did 2 laps with a decent tune, i can get it sub 100th with a 6:17.8xx i think but its pointless since the 2J is just in a class of its own..

you can send me a friend request when you are ready (if you still want to share it) i will accept as soon i log in psn.

:)

I think the biggest issue with this challenge is not the track or 2J, it's the tyre restrictions.

We're only allowed race hards? WTF racing softs are specially made for qualifying and time attacks like these seasonal events. Why can't we use them?

Racing hards SUCK, they have little to no grip compared to even the racing mid and don't even last that long considering they are supposedly a 'hard' compound tyre.

Maybe the sports softs are better? i know they technically shouldn't be but at this stage i'll try any better alternative.

Loving the 2J @ Nurb  up to 3rd with a 6'06.7xx and my lap has a very nervous end section that cost me some time... will run some more tomorrow as it's addictive as hell and I think I can maybe menace the front runners with some more effort

This car is wicked on the RH tyres and would be just too easy on RS, best feeling right on the edge and pulling it off :sly:

GL chaps 👍

Ofcourse, no problem - I'll add you and put up the 2J as well so you can get rockin on the ring asap. Just for reference - I did a 6.17 yesterday in the 2J after clipping 3 (!) sandtraps. You'll like this car :-)

I figured the 905 would be very fast at spa and looks like I was right. All the top guys are using it. Apparently I'm not tuning mine right though because I am WAY off their times.

Used the R33 TC from dlc and ran a 7:11 on the ring...good enough for me

Not at home just now cant wait to try the ring. Can anyone tell me what the next fastest car is after the 2J.

The Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring car is a very good option for this TT, mainly because of the 4wd. I managed a 6:27 with it, which put me in 173rd place yesterday. The cars ahead of me were almost all 2Js although I did see a couple of Takata Dome NSX '03s too but my guess is the NSX would be trickier to drive than the FTO. The FTO has loads of grip (not as much as the 2J obviously) and its pretty quick on the straights too. I was getting 188mph at the end of the big straight, which is only around 10-15mph less than the 2J

10th overall on the Ring, 06.09.556
And thanks for the tune Fobia 👍

Nice lap MrP! :)
I tried the FTO for one lap, but it doesnt have as much turn-in than an NSX, it does have a lot of grip though, i did 6:24 with it, 6:21 with the stealth nsx, only one complete lap though.

I think i can get in front of the Dome NSXs with the Furai though. :)
410hp and about 800kg.

edit: well done Manuel!👍

gonna try it out

Have you tried the 2J yet? You can probably go sub 6'10 easy

Very nice, Im gonna try Twitchy's tune. I have been running 200kg at the back.

Did you use my tune or twitchy's for the 2J time?
I think mine is slow, others are running much less ballast.

FR sent and 2J is online, hope you can do well with this car! This one has rigidity improvement, I use the one without, if you want to use that one let me know - I'll put that online as well.

Thanks for posting the tune Fobia/Twitchy it really helped with the handling of the car :)

I must have re-started about 15 times to get a clean lap in but I kept making silly mistakes and sliding off and getting red laps-so frustrating.

My final time(6.12) was my only complete lap and I was well relieved.

I think I must have left a second or 2 in the last 1.5mins of the lap being super careful and trying to complete the lap :)

My 2J is down on power by about 8 bhp compared to optimum and changing my driving style,to suit the 2J and not ride the kerbs so much, took a little while to get used to.

For some reason I dont do well on Spa with high PP regs-oh well.

Anyway, best of luck to all those prepared to put the time and effort in to post the great laps.

I'm down to 1:58 in the Peugeot 905, but my setup sucks. It is understeering in the highspeed stuff and twitchy under braking. I had a quick go in the 908 but it's just too slow in a straight line. Matched my time in the BMW V12 LMR though, so I might work on it a bit, though it doesn't put it's power down as well as the 905.

Just ran 8laps at SPA in the speed8.

Currently 41st with a 1.55.192. Still lots of time to be had

What setup have you gone for with the Speed 8? It seems to be my preferred car of choice on Spa. I had a quick go with a few others, but none of them were as quick as the Bentley, or suited the way I drive. I don't think the Speed 8 is good enough to win the TT outright, but I don't have the Pug or the Toyota which seem to be ruling the roost.

Think i'm going to stick with the Speed 8 and try and get my time down. I was sat on a 1.56 somthing yesterday which was good for a top 150 spot, but that has no doubt changed now.

Be interested to know what tune you've gone for - I think the car has a 1:54 in it, definitely!

Thanks Pr1vate. Still tweaking on it a little. I don't have a good setup for the 905, which the top guys are using, so I'm going to stick with this car for awhile to see how far it takes me. I may hop on the 905 bandwagon later tho, lol.

Grrrrr, lost so many great laps... I guess I lost two potential 6'06 laps, one in Pflanzgarten I and one after Karussel.

Made some modifications to my tune:
Fobia
Ballast: 79/+5080/+50

Power: 490hp492hp

Gearbox: stock ratios 330km/h (I hit the limiter)

1st:1.229
2nd: 0.900
3rd: 0.708
Final: 4.100
Max speed: 340km/h

Suspension:

Ride height: -9/-1010/0
Spring rates: 17.6/20.0
Dampers (extension): 9/7
Dampers (compression): 4/2
ARB: 6/63/6
Camber: 2.8/1.93.0/1.9
Toe: 0.10/-0.60

LSD: 10/20/5

Brake balance: 6/9

I reckon my tune itself is good enough for 6'05 at most.

Chapeau for your times! :D

I has tried the 2J but with DS3 and my skills (or the lack of them) can't do anything decent. Finally has grabbed again my R35TC and the clock stops in 7:01 ... I think that can improve a little more but, not too much.

Back in top 10, currently P9 with 6'08 using PJ's tune, cheers mate. 👍
:cool:Cool, now I know it's my driving that's slowing me :banghead:

Hey KB,
Your set is very good, I did about 5 laps and ended up ~350
Thanks man 👍

I may hop on the 905 wagon too, if I can find one
