easy gold first try with the R35 GTR TC on the Ring .. tried the same car for spa but i was off pace
finally got gold with Toyota GT ONE with mid range turbo on Spa

I also smashed the gold time on my very first lap. It actually got me into first in the world! ( and instead of saying 1st, they say First, that's nice of PD)

However, I did it as soon as the TT was out...

Hehe...

I'm sure that I'm further down the list by now.

However I think I have at least 8 seconds I can make up with a better lap.

Great run! I will be spending a lot of time on these two TT (perhaps at the expense of WRS )

If I can crack top 500, I'll be ecstatic! I'll definitely settle for top 1000.

I don't like either of those tracks and it will take about 3 years worth of attempts before you get a fast clean lap around the nordschleife.

GT5 was my first motorsport sim game in a very long time, and I never even looked at or knew really, what the Nurburgring even was. I was so ignorant, but I knew I was hooked on this game, and vowed to learn it. I knew the NFS series was dead in the water, so GT is all I had to look fwd to, and so glad I invested time in it. (hobby)

I didn't touch online until I forced myself (with good motivation coupled with adrenaline and stress) to get at least all silvers on the AMG academy special, in game.

As soon as I saw even the remote chance that I was actually getting golds in certain sections, I said to myself, all gold it will be.

Since about 10 months now, 2 hours a day on the Nur is all I do.

This will be my first TT where I can (hope) show my name in the top 1,000 , and I'll be thrilled with that.

Knowing the track, is 85 % of the battle, you can then take any of your 1,300 PD cars in your garage, and enjoy it, aid free. ABS is optional, but not all that necessary.

now which car to do... I'm so used to 500pp street, but I did learn the track in the F1 and FGT lol.

Just took couple shots with Vertigo and I suprised how easy it is drift 👍

I tried it with the RX-7 TC last night. I'm going to try some other cars tonight, I'm only getting 14K so far with the RX-7... seems a little wound up. My setup is probably wrong. I know the transmission is, but it's also very easy to control.

I don't think it can be gifted but I have a 2J up to borrow, it already has a decent setup as it was set up for another TT, its more lively than usual.

Thanks for the 2J setup Fobia, I haven't tried this one yet but I'll give it a go next weekend. Nice lap btw. Had another go at Spa, did 10 laps, best was a 1.55,3 but my R8 still handles like a pig. Where's Yinato with his magic setups

I must say Fobia, that's one hell of a tune found 8 second when I used, up to 23rd with a 6:13.474. Highest ranking ever

Had another session, not good... again lost a lap in the last corner (it would have been a 6'09 so I'm not mad about it) and clipped the sand at Pflanzgarten and ended up with 6'09.7, would've been a great lap for sure if I hadn't ruined it.

Fresh mindset is key for the Ring. That's why I don't do more than 4 laps per session.
In total I did only 9 laps, lots of restarts if I don't overtake my ghost in the first corner.
My first lap is usually the fastest one, since my mind is relaxed and fresh.

Sweet as a TT on the green hell AND spa!

Besides the 2J, what cars are we thinking of? I reckon one of the JGTC's, or a detuned nomad Diablo or Oreca Viper.

Just for the fun of it I ran "The Green Hell" with the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car and got a 6:35.568. I have the "troll car" on another account but won't use it until the last day or so. Hmmmmm, what to try next?

Ran Spa with Judd GV5 for first go at it. Not real familiar with track other than doing the other time trials on it. got a 2:00.048.

Ran a single lap at both... easy easy gold.

The Ring lap was funny as I just cleared a gold time by 40 seconds or so, but ran wide at turn one when I was about to quit. Didn't realise it was a red lap void thing. Maybe the gold time is reasonable then.

Spa is just a pale shadow of the past, Pouhon is nice though.

Using Fobia's ghost I have found some of my very weak sectors where he pulls over a second on me in each ... only took 2 sectors off him. Good to know where I need work.

I think the TT and DT need to be separated into 2 different posts. I know there aren't many who prefer the Drift Trials, but I do. With Time Trials, I just try to get a few seconds faster than the gold time and call it a day. I spend countless hours on the drifting though.

Does anyone else think this would be a good idea?

Yes that is great if your more than a few sec's off a fast lap, Just dont try to follow a ghost thats way to fast for you

I use top 10 ghosts but only for the sector times ... I can't follow ghosts, even my own, because I just end up pushing too hard and crashing all the time.

Got gold on the ring with the audi R8 LM racecar, a world away from 2J's in the leaderboard. Got the fastest vacuum cleaner on earth so I will give it a try later for the glory. Still can't get used to the 3 speed gearbox, I get the feeling I can't brake fast enough with only 3 downshifts, but its just me...

Here's an unusual issue that happened while I was trying different cars for Spa 700pp TT. I gave about 15 laps for each car, which is usually enough to see their potential and get a reasonable lap time.

I remember using the 2J some 5 in-game patches ago, on the Daytona Oval, and this car handled horribly , couldn't even hold the line for the simple left only turns. understeered, and I thought this car was so overrated, didn't touch it ever again since, but did notice and wonder at the countless 2J threads on GTplanet ever since.
