C'mon guys. It doesn't matter if you get hit from behind which forces you into the car in front; if that front car goes off, you both have to concede that position, not just the guy who started the chain reaction 👎

There was me (MG), a Delorean, an Integra, a Lancia and I believe one other car in the pileup. I broke to avoid a sideways Delorean, then the Lancia pushed me up into either the integra which hit the delorean or into the delorean itself. (not accusing the Lancia. There was nowhere for him or I to go to at that point.) The integra moved to let someone through, but I came out ahead of delorean and went around. Once the delorean was behind me later that lap or early the next, I let it through. I made the other cars get around me.

I'm not sure if I was involved enough to encourage the post :nervous: but I did want to put out there another driver's view. I'm not sure at all how the delorean became in trouble to begin with. Crowded track, position jockeying and cars with vastly different brake points can lead to 🤬 situation.

That was after though, Diabolic. From what I can tell by the replay, it started with the Integra getting into the Opel who got into the DeLorean. Integra lets both back past, Opel just carried on without bothering to give back the position to the DeLorean.

I just wanted to let you know that I did give back that position. (Although I know it's not me you're explicitly referring to) BTW: Should anyone ever feel I've wronged them out there, let me know. I got into the back of Chatva a couple times, but I will never take a position that wasn't earned. Oftentimes I self penalize myself when I just think I did something out of line. Christian motoring...it keeps me guilt free, but also out of first.

I was sidelined with a gearbox (shoulder button) issue, but i don't understand why a person who is pinballed into someone has to give back the position. They're just as much a victim as the guy who gets shoved off.

You can't be suggesting that it's perfectly fine to gain position on the car in front if you hit them due to a chain reaction behind you.

This is a good point. I can see both sides. How do the rest of you feel about this?

Not exactly. You can't take getting a tap from behind as an excuse to drive straight through a guy. If you can maintain control of your car well enough to avoid escalating the incident then you should. But if someone hits you hard enough to cause a massive chain reaction, you're also a victim. If I get pinballed into a pack of cars by someone elses divebomb, you can bet I'm not gonna wait for every one of them to get back on track before carrying on if the incident was not my fault. Taking advantage of other drivers misfortune is just part of racing, the only time it becomes dirty is when you cause the misfortune yourself (or escalate it through your own actions)

With March drawing to a close I want to shake things up a bit.

The first thing is let's revisit the tracks. I want to give each person who has raced the option to vote on which tracks we will use for the April-June season. I am suggesting that we open it up to any track in the game. Each person will get 10 points to assign and you can vote for up to 4 tracks. You can choose to put all your points towards one tack or divide them as you like between up to four tracks. We will then use the 12 tracks with the most votes. The 12 tracks will then be divided up into sets of three based on average speed.

You have until March 31st to place your votes. Please do not post in the thread instead please send me a PM. Also please be specific with the track name.

The second thing I would like to do is allow the weekly PP change to be a bit more broad. I suggest that we allow the change to go to +/- 50 instead of 25. I also want to allow the winner to move it from 0-50 in increments of 5. So one week it could go +35 and the next week -20. I am happy for people to weigh in on this idea so let me know what you think.

Finally this goes out to anyone who has thought about racing but have not taken the plunge. I would love to know what is holding you back? Is it a lack of time to choose cars or not having enough cars to choose from? Or is it the night and time of the racing? The main reason I ask is what if there was a recommended four car lineup for the event would that make participating easier? If there were 4 cars listed that you could buy from the NCD or the current OCD that you could buy and come race would that make you more likely to give the Performance Cap racing a try?

One last thing. Thanks for everyone that has come out and given this a try. The fact that we are averaging 9-10 people a night twice a week is awesome. I would love to see us get up to 12-14 as I do think it makes it even more of a challenge. So please feel free to promote the idea to people you know. I just hope I can get back to racing soon so I can join in on all the fun.

This is what I do; if I started the whole thing, I'm letting every affected car by me. If I was merely caught up in it, I'm only waiting for the car I hit...if that means letting everyone else past in the process, so be it.

Not really a suggestion, but just throwing it out there.. Going from unlimited down to only four cars seems like quite a drastic change. What about maybe selecting forty cars that are elidgible for a given night? Then again, I'm probably just infatuated with the idea of a snake-style "fantasy car draft" where everyone posts their draft picks on the thread and can't draft another car that's already been picked. It's admittedly a bit complicated, but I can always dream.. :P

I think he is just saying that for every evening there will be a basic "suggested lineup" for people who don't have time to choose their own. You would probably do better to pick your own but if you don't have time then the suggested list will get you on the track and within the nights specs.

Yea that is what I meant to say;)

I think that's a great idea. Some don't have time to pick a line-up in time, and others of us, procrastinate, and then find ourselves scrambling.  (I'm thinking of myself.lol) So to have a standard line-up for people who find they could race at the last moment & don't have something put together, sounds like a great idea.
I'm disappointed to have missed the last 2 nights raced unavoidably.:(

What do you think of a color code asign with the drivetrain type in the column E on the spreadsheet?...Example MR in orange, FR in blue... 14E would be orange 17E would be blue...

For me chosing from any car in the game that fits the pp and drivetrain requirements is what makes this series so fun, so I don't want the pickts to be restricted. Just my opinion, but I'm sure many agree. I do like the idea of having a default lineup that people can use though, makes it more beginner friendly. Speaking of beginners, I'm off to teach myself how to play guitar!

1. I like the idea for track selection, there will for sure be a track bias (spa) but I like the idea because I think it will get other tracks out and used more often, though, maybe instead of making it a selection of 3 tracks, the top 3 tracks get used and last weeks winner chooses the first track we run.
2 my lack of participation is due to no wheel and a stupid boss always messing with my schedule, that is fixed after this week, so expect to see me next monday (and sunday!)
3. The open car choice is also a big draw for me. I love the format, though I would like to see the maximum pp lvl of choosable cars raised to around 500.

This.

Picking the cars and making them meet the restrictions is what keeps me busy during the week. Then I just race the day of the event and try not to get last place.

Would it help if I put a column with the drivetrain? Also would it be easier if the cars were grouped by drivetrain?

Yes.A color code chart on top (1-2-3F/1-2-3G)
MR = Orange
FR = Blue
etc
Then you just fill the squares in the E column with the proper color. The square in 11E would be Orange (NSX).

Also would it be easier if the cars were grouped by drivetrain?
I would say keep the current order.

Oh okay, sorry I misunderstood. When I re-read it, it make much more sense. Sort of a like a standard-issue lineup for those who haven't had a chance to put together their own. Very good idea! 👍

I like the idea of having drive train in the known pp database. 👍
Would be very helpful to me, as I don't off-hand know this about many cars.

Here are additions for the Known PP database
(all premiums)

Ford Focus ST '06
422pp
(221 miles)

Bmw 135i
463pp
(210 miles)

Audi TTS
451pp
(222 miles)

The higher the average pp goes, the better odds the quicker drivers have to win. A D1 driver in a 450 car should cling to a D4-5 driver with 20+ more pp. If you keep the overall pp lower the choices of cars is narrowed, but the importance of strategy, the pairing of cars and track, is enhanced.

I like idea of putting *pairs of tracks on a rotation. Like Sunday, perhaps first had choice of choosing a pair to sub in, choosing the pp change or deciding where we qualify.

I think a few of us misunderstood that. I know I sure did. It is a good idea though.

Does anyone know the broken in PP for either of these premiums?
Nissan SILVIA K's Dia Selection (S13) '90
Mazda Roadster RS (NC) '07
Alfa Romeo 147 TI 2.0 TWIN SPARK '06

Depending on the actual PP I think this could be a standard 1600PP line up:

Alfa Romeo 147 TI 2.0 TWIN SPARK '06 (assuming about 370)
Lancia DELTA HF Integrale Evoluzione '91 (408)
Lotus Elise '96 (417)
Nissan SILVIA K's Dia Selection (S13) '90 or Mazda Roadster RS (NC) '07 (assuming around 405)

Not a lot of choice for 4wd/MR for the 1600 PP selection from the NCD but it is at least a starting point for people to use. Any thoughts?

Congrats to Nic for another win for Mondays races. Kendawg was a close second and the difference was just the 2 points for qualifying:crazy:

There was a three way tie for third between Joe, Star and Diabolic. Joe gets the nod thanks to his 2nd and 3rd place finishes. Well done.

Nic you can adjust the PP +/-25 from the current 1650 or keep it as is.

Kendawg you can pick the qualifying track.

One thing to note is since I do not have access to the full results I can not verify the cars used and thus can not check the PP or look for any bonus points. If someone is willing to gather that information it would be really appreciated. Consider this a job posting for Data collector:idea:

The Overall results for the 3/25/13 1650 PP Performance Cap Race

The track order was
1. Laguna Seca
2. Tsukuba
3. Spa
4. Daytona Road Course

1. Nic-KL - 55
2. Kendawg - 53
3. JoeW/Ice-Warden - 50
4. Starvsnr - 50
5. Diabolicwyvern - 50
6. Chatva - 46
7. Schmiggz - 44
8. Tezgm99 - 43
9. koszak27 - 43

*It looks like know one suffered Discos:tup:

The higher the average pp goes, the better odds the quicker drivers have to win.

True that!
At least this seems to be the usual case in my experience.
The lower the power, the lesser the tires, the closer the racing among varying drivers.
The higher the power, the better the tires, the more predictable the race results.

And is it true there are more cars to pick from in the 450-550pp range than in the 350-450pp range?
Always seemed to me that the differences between the duds & the aces seems to grow wider & wider the higher the PP (stock) you go.
