Why does the PS store display at 0.0004 frames per second? Ever since they changed it from the old "blue" one it's been laggy.

Here's my take on the wheel questions:

Fanatec gt3rs: The force feedback is a lot more manageable now, it no longer feels like its trying to rip your shoulders off.
The clutch system is noticeably better than gt5 I managed to do a whole race without miss shifting once, and I was actually trying to!
The new physics: one word, Uhmazing. Throwing the 370 z around autumn ring was probably the most fun I've had driving that car, it's very predictable and forgiving to the limit, but once you cross the line, you can recover quite easily without having to fight the wheel like in gt5. The braking is noticeably better too, you can take the car deep into the apex with little brake input, you can also rotate the vehicles easier with some throttle inputs, the leaf is ridiculously fun to drive, wish it was part of the academy section.

As of right now I was sitting in the top 200 for all of the trials, and top 50 for my region... If I do this the navy is gonna have to give me some leave hahahaha.

Really looks good, but at the same a bit exagerated body roll for a sports car... Race cars no way in hell should have that ammount of body roll.

Its not a race car, its a lightly modified road car and the body roll is not exaggerated.

The penalties are a little harsh! (We can blame all of the grass trimmers in previous competitions for that though 👎)

Stay off the grass! Sorry, that remains a running joke for anyone who's served in the Army. Couldn't resist. I'm glad they added penalties though. The fast guys will always be fast. 👍

Anyone find it weird that the GT Academy cars have selected Nissan colors instead of the normal selection for the cars.

Midnight Purple Leaf

I do agree, but have a lap made invalid when you've had one wheel clip some grass/curb (which slows you down anyway) does seem excessive.

I've beaten the 2 cups, god that was fun lol. The handling is so weird, compared to GT5.

BTW, some of you guys must have bad luck with AI, I just did a race, and the 3 cars behind me were battling for 2nd place lol.

The visuals really impressed me when you start at your Silverstone practice lap. For a moment I thought I had started up a game on my PC. They're just so clean and there's barely any jaggies to speak of in the vicinity of the car. The interiors are also extremely crisp and you can easily see every single detail. It feels like a very big improvement over GT5. I wonder what kind of AA they're using this time around, so glad they dropped QAA.

The lighting on Autumn ring is also great, it's like I'm driving on the track for the first time.

Personally I noticed a lot of aliasing, mainly in the track with things like building edges, barriers etc. Didn't look too smooth to me. There was also some flickering on the buildings just before the bridge on the hanger straight, on the right.

Alright, got it and drove it! Only done the 4 "race" Events so far. Suspension and tires have been refined greatly and that's the best aspect. It makes both cars extremely easy to drive. I can see how a complete noob could jump in and feel like it was a better approximation of real life.

However the steering felt overly boosted even with power steering OFF and plenty of FFB. Cockpit cam is ruined by frame rate problems but bumper is beautiful. Hope PD can get cockpit cam straightened out. Can't say I'm that anxious to drive in my preferred view much in the Demo.

I can't stand driving the Leaf but the Z felt more "real". I drove with no aids but left ABS on 1. Looks like the same BB issue with ABS 0, rear lockup without adjusting. Getting out of shape was easy to pull back from. All in all a more life like driving experience. I have to admit, I'd gotten pretty hyped and was hoping for more content.

Guys, one question. I saw this tweet from @gtplanetnews:

"If you’ve already downloaded the GT6 demo from the EU PS Store, you don’t have to download it from the US Store again. Just change accounts."

What is that means? I didn't understand. My main account is from US and I've downloaded the UK version. So, I really want to get the bonus content, and my games normally are from US, what should i do? Download the US version of the demo? If I install it, it will overwrite the UK version or i would have 2 demos from each region? My times would remain?

Thanks!

Not sure about tire model yet, but suspension model and car balance and reaction to weight transfer is indeed new and greatly improved.

Pleased to report the demo is downloading now, I think I just needed version 1.06 of the PSN :D - So it is available in Australia

My review of the demo:

Good:

-Increased roll makes the suspension look and feel way more realistic. I wondered if the new suspension model would be similar to the one in LA Noire, and even though it's not an exact match it's better than the unresponsive suspensions on most cars in GT5.
-I can't explain exactly why, but the overall feeling of driving is absolutely much better and more natural than in GT5. It's so much more satisfying that I may just buy one car when the game comes out and cruise around for a couple days.
-Accelerating, decelerating, and braking are incredibly smooth and easy compared to GT5.
-The cars look much better on the track. I can really tell the difference between them and the GT5 cars, they look much more realistic in my opinion.
-The trees look better since they've used much lighter shades for the leaves and they appear to be blurred only around the edges so they blend together but don't look like an amorphous blob of leaf-like colors (as GT5 trees do).
-The actual asphalt of the track looks much more realistic, which is great.
-Loading of everything is WAY faster. It took like a second to go from the main menu to the start of a race.
-Menus and other graphics are really well done.
-Everything from the loading screen waving flag to race results screen is much brighter and more engaging, as opposed to the very utilitarian, dull, and tedious animations in GT5.
-The dealership and garage both look great.
-You can really see the interior of your car well from the 3rd person view. It's really nice.

Bad:

-The suspension system has too much delay. It takes like a full second after you start turning before the car begins to roll at all. When you're coming out of even a slight turn the car stays rolled on one side well after you've been going straight.
-The blades of grass sticking up along the walls of the track looks extremely fake and stupid.
-The flying birds that everyone has commented on are really poor. They're basically animated versions of the little curved V's that children use to represent birds in drawings.
-Going over 80 mph the game looked very choppy. That really kills the realism if it isn't somehow fixed for the actual game release.
-I have no idea what the technical term for this is, but there is a lot of "flickering" as some people have said (which happens when a solid white or black line is looked at from an angle). As you're driving you'll see 5 or 6 objects in the background flickering at any given time, which is annoying. It's not smooth at all.
-The replay heavily blurs objects that are too close or too far away, giving the same effect as the photomode miniature filter.
-The rock textures are not good at all compared to the rock textures in GT5. The fakeness of the rocks is really strange to see in the background of such great looking cars.

Overall it's definitely different enough from GT5 to warrant buying and giving it a go, even if you end up returning it in a few days. You can tell they've had to sacrifice some aspects of the game in order to improve others (e.g. seemlessness of loading the different sections of the game is greatly improved at the expense of graphics smoothness).

Had the demo for a while now so here are my quick first impressions... only played up to first 370z silverstone test.

Good:
- General driving and physics are great and feels more "fun" than GT5
- Autumn ring looks beautiful along with Silverstone
- The lighting reminds me of the sun effect from GT3 again beautiful
- UI is drastically improved which was one of my main issues with GT5

Bad:
- Game doesn't run as smoothly as i thought it would do, certainly an improvement on GT5 but expected better
- Sounds still way off the standard of today's games
- AI looks identical to GT5

I know there's still time until the game comes out and i hope my bad points can be improved slightly... still day one buy for me :)
