I hate the TKR livery. It's black with white logos.... Their 2003 livery was much better. Best livery in my mind was the 2005 Supercheap cars livery

Same here and that brings me to what I wanted to talk about. I noticed some of the cars for this season have gone to putting their numbers on the windows only and not on the car door where it can be easily seen by some viewers. Anyone have a idea why that is?

I didn't get to see the Bahrain round on TV last season, but I had a double-take when I first saw this image. I imagine the same thing happened when the Ford and Holden drivers saw a 'Chevy' on the track.

As far as I know they are still required to put the numbers on the doors. I think some of them just blend in to the artwork a bit more.

The technology in these cars today, means they're nowhere near "taxi's" as they have been dubbed. They are proper race cars and I think a 2:06:xxx is very possible..... I'd like to say Murph will be the one to do it. Or even, someone else beat it then he beats it again lol, but chances of that are slim

Given the right conditions, I'm sure we could see a break in the lap record. The cars have changed a bit since 2004, the biggest being the sequential gear box. Let's hope for an interesting Saturday.

Judging by the splits I thought Skaife was going to do it last year, then he locked up going into The Chase. Oooh, can't wait much longer for this. GO HOLDEN!!!!

Yeah if anyone expects to beat that lap record then they will need great conditions to help make it possible, good track temperature, good tyres, Car's working well etc. Also if it were to be pulled in race the best time would probably be about 2/3rd's the way through...plenty of rubber on the track surface.
However Murphy pulled the great lap in qualify so I think it would only be equal if it were to be beaten in qualify.👍

Yeah if anyone expects to beat that lap record then they will need great conditions to help make it possible, good track temperature, good tyres, Car's working well etc. Also if it were to be pulled in race the best time would probably be about 2/3rd's the way through...plenty of rubber on the track surface.

Highly doubt we'd see the lap record broken during the race, it would be a great risk. If we don't get interrupted by too many safety cars or interesting weather conditions, we could quite possibly see a race-lap record. But it's the mountain and who knows what could happen!

You could still see some rain, as It can appear out of nowhere. One of the best rain dances I remeber seeing, was pimply Faced kid called Glen going flat out in a nissan bluebird with one of the first in car camera shots, across the top of skyline. That was superb driving.

Bathurst '87 was the first ever motor race I watched. My brother asked me who I was going for and I saw Seton sliding up and down the hill in the rain. I said, "He'll do", and to this day I've been a die-hard Glenn Seton fan.

Not that I enjoy wishing on people but I'd love to see lowndes car stuck under the tyres like 2001 when he was leading. Then again Whincup ALWAYS manages to make silly mistakes at Bathurst

My friend is working for one of the V8 utes in the brute ute series, he landed in Sydney today and is currently on the way to bathurst as we speak (probably there by now)

If you are watching the ute series the team he is working for is Sage Automation (VE Commodore) driven by Gary baxter.
