2012 Malaysian Grand Prix

For such a terrible car, that's a special win for Ferrari, even though it should have been Sauber.

Apparently it's not such a terrible car as people make it out to be.

Massa 14 places behind his teammate. 14.

So this race taught me a few things. Alonso in any Ferrari (official) can do no wrong. I guess I needed to see him drive a worse car than the F150th to see that.

Number two. Narin's HRT is the new wall of champions

Number three. Vettel is not an alien and neither is Button.

Number four (wait for it) Lewis will be Happy since he beat his team mate, just you watch.

Points awarded to:

1. Alonso
2. Perez
3. Hamilton
4. Webber
5. Raikkonen
6. Senna
7. Di Resta
8. Vergne
9. Hulkenberg
10. Schumacher
-------
Vettel - 11
Rosberg - 13
Button - 14
Massa - 15

I literally have no idea what to think of this race. It was so busy and complex, there was so much emotion flowing through the race that it ate itself all up and there's hardly any left. There's just a state of confusion here.

Funny thing is, this race showed Ferrari who Perez and Massa really are

EDIT: Perez can obviously go toe to toe with Alonso, Massa can't. Perez has amazing skills, the way he pushed the inters was inspiring.

It pains me to say this as I genuinely like the guy, but Massa has to go.

That incident did more to his confidence and skill that I thought.

I think Hamilton possibly had the quietest race . Not often you can say that :P

Congrats to Fernando and Sergio, simply awesome.

That was the greatest race I've ever seen. Feel sorry for Perez, the race was his, assuming he could get past Alonso.

A most amazing race. Red flagged for the longest time. Alonso gifted the win in the pits, but he drove brilliantly in holding that lead. He was the fastest in the wet conditions, the hallmarks of a master driver. Hear that grandstand go wild!

The man of the race has got to be Sergio Perez. Second fastest in the middle of the race, and undeniably quickest at the front near the end. Second place will be very sweet, but the Sauber team nearly won its very first race today. Shame.

Hamilton's pout during the podium press conference will be something to see, but as Vettel, Rosberg and Button will finish out of the points, and Schumacher is in 10th, it's not an absolute disaster for him.

Webber did a great job bringing in that Red Bull in 4th. Just four seconds off of Hamilton. Great pit-work from Red Bull there.

Kimi once again showed masterful driving, coming in fifth from a tenth place grid start and even slipping down to 12th at one point. Fantastic driving.

Senna? Sixth? Senna who?

Di Resta, Vergne and Nico Hulkenberg get gifted points due to the misfortunes of the top teams. Schumacher lucky to reclaim tenth.

No one else matters. Rare mistakes from Button and Vettel... While Button tried to make a go of making a comeback, there simply wasn't enough time to get back up into the points.

Fernando Alonso now leads the championship. Who would have thought? Sauber now falls to fourth in the Constructor's Championship due to Kobayashi's own misfortunes, but they're still in fighting form.

Will Perez be going to Ferrari this year? No way in hell will he want to give up a car that's faster than Alonso's. Maybe next year, Ferrari, maybe next year. :D

"Sergio, Fernando is faster than you, can you confirm you understood this message?"

Extremely pleased for Senna though, hopefully it is the boost in confidence he needed.

EDIT: I don't think people should underestimate Fernando's achievement though, that Ferrari should have a collar on it.

Now he's gonna be quiet at the press conference also with those 2 next to him haha

Apparently it's not such a terrible car as people make it out to be.

There is not one other driver on the grid who could have won in that car today. The car is very clearly not good. I would say it's maybe the fourth or fifth on the grid behind RB, McLaren, Lotus and possibly one of Sauber, Mercedes or Williams.

Massa shows the true pace of the car.

On the subject of this...

...I can see absolutely no set order at the top this side of McLaren and probably Red Bull.

I'd argue McLaren is far out in front, Red Bull have better tire usage, but are maybe a tenth or two slower over several laps. Lotus Renault and Mercedes equal third, except the Mercs still have horrid tire issues. Sauber and Ferrari are equal fifth.

Massa shows the true pace of the car.

This. It's very hard to blame Massa for not being able to transcend a horrid car. Sergio was very quick, but the Sauber is arguably quicker than the Ferrari at the moment.

"Sergio, Fernando is faster than you, can you confirm you understood this message?"

The message was simply not to try too hard on a track that was still very wet offline while on slicks... which is why Sergio went off on that corner. If those wet patches weren't there, Sergio might have actually been able to win.

One can't help but wonder...

EDIT: And would SOMEBODY PLEASE PUT A BLOODY SPONSOR'S LOGO ON THE SAUBER!!! It's obviously a good car, it's such a shame it doesn't have a proper livery.

If we would have had a dry race Alonso wouldn't have even had a chance for the podium, Ferrari won just because of the rain and the strategy.

Felipe. Sergio has just been offered your seat if you can hand in your pass to security on the way out.
