2013 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix

At least Vettel won't lead by 3 seconds by the end of lap 2.

He got a good start and was screwed over by Vettel moving over on him.

A good start would have had him overlapping Vettel, not leaving Seb any space to block him off.

Go Perez. Give us something to watch!

Predictably, Lewis' Merc is struggling for grip.

Don't think Webber has enough straightline speed to capitalize on that, though.

So I'm up at 3:30 in the morning to watch *yawn* this.

Maldonado gets a black and orange flag. I declare SABOTAGE!

Grosjean is actually having a pretty good race, still in 2nd.

Hamilton is really holding up Mark now.

Not much action on track at the moment. Don't expect any until the first pits
cycle through.

Banzai, Buckaroo!

Fantastic run-up and overtake, mate!

Nifty move by Webber.

Camera angles for this race are making the cars look a bit slow but are showing their motion in the turns beautifully.

Well not sure how Lewis expected to win this at this point. I really would like to know what happened to the cars from Belgian forward, I mean Nico has brought the car home in podium spots the last two races, but before that it was a struggle for him too. This is obviously beyond a cracked chassis and just bring a new one to the GP, the engineering the car just ended up being horrid as the season closes.

F1 overtaking is a bit artificial for my taste nowadays... Build a slow entry, add a long straight and breeze past with a DRS-KERS section. It's the same everywhere from the US to India to some future antartica GP for the pinguin market.

Afterwards resume train formation for the rest of the lap...

Still getting used to the new board. Can't blame it on the local microbrew (appropriately, a Fat Tire) I'm drinking.

A pain when half the tags are hidden. Don't know what they'll do half the time if you enter them manually.

That was a nice dive-bomb from Nico.

Alonso boxed behind Perez... seems like a strategy muck-up from Ferrari. You should ideally pit before the slowpoke in front of you.
