2014 Belgian Grand Prix

It's raining, should I take a chance on the Red Bulls? :D

Award winning BBC coverage right now!

I missed the first 15 mins, what happened?

Hate the way the BBC keeps skirting the whole Verstappen elephant in the room (saying he is talented, mature for his age etc etc) when the simple fact is that daddy got him the job and he is a pay driver with a marketable surname.

Paydriver?

His surname with net the team lot's in additional exposure potential sponsorship money and advertising deals. Plus his age is a headline generator.

I agree with you regarding the age thing, but the kid got some serious driving skills.

Paydriver????????

Spy.

So have many others yet who is in the driving seat?

It's irritating that times are hard in F1 so this trend is going to become more and more prevalent as the next bunch of former F1 offspring come of age.

God I miss single-seat racing. Perceived shenanigans within the FIA that usually end up in a much covered court case, the dominance of Mercedes, the apparent lack of passing, the quieter engines have all helped with a veering away from it. Have I been over egging the pudding or is it as bad as I think it is?

I just loved seeing the young talent in the graduation championships like FR 3.5, GP2 and FIA and British F3 climb the ladder. But I got to develop a feeling that the summit is not worth the ascent because of what Formula One in 2014 has become. That is why I am not such a fan of sportscars and GT racing.

No way of knowing that.

F1 offspring just annoy me.

I don't see that anything's changed in the 36 years I've been a fan. Intrigue in the sporting bodies, legal wrangles, team dominance, complaints about overtaking (although recently that's got so much better imo), and from an technically pure point of view I'd like them to be 100% efficient and silent.

I love eggy pudding but for this particular meal you're eating alone :D

I am open-minded enough to welcome it back to my arms.

I just got back home from being late inquiring an issue with my pay, was watching the start of Q1 when I heard something very very interesting....

Andre Lotterer driving for Caterham at the Belgian Grand Prix....

I just moistened my boxer shorts very, very much.

Explain Vettel...

A great win in Monza (a combination of luck and genuine skill) in the STR that belied an otherwise ambient 2008. He managed to complete 2/3 of the races he entered and on average finished only 8th with the engine that won the constructor's championship.

Without the win he finished 10th on average across his STR Ferrari career before moving to Red Bull and winning the championship.

Then he got into a much better car and we saw some much better performances.

Back on-topic. Damn I love watching Spa in the wet... :D :D
