2014 Belgian Grand Prix

Lotterer beats Ericsson on his debut, also the first time he's driven an F1 car in these conditions.

This must be his third race at Spa for three different teams in three different series/disciplines. For Audi Joest in the WEC for sportscars, then for WRT in the Total 24hrs of Spa in GT's and not Caterham in F1 within single-seat racing.

I wasn't that surprised really, he's an ace driver, definitely one of my favourites. He did take a little while to make the impact, but then again, the car and tyres are different to what he's used to. I think he's used to the low-end torque, what with the LMPs being quite grunty at low revs.

His name?

"Verstappen" doesn't exactly conjure up the same lofty heights as a Schumacher or a Villeneuve or a Senna ...

His first name doesn't even rhyme with "boss", which to my mind shows a distinct lack of effort on his part.

McLaren warning their drivers that times are likely to drop in this session.... conditions worsening... :)

Good job Nico. Lewis always seems to fade in Q3 for whatever reason, that lap wasn't the cleanest but Rosberg got the job done.

Good job by Nico, I think we'll see that some top-ten drivers have gambled on tomorrow's setup and taken the hit today. Possibly Hamilton too but I'm inclined to think that today he simply made his own destiny in Turn 1. Twice.

Someone explain me how in the world Charlie did not invalidate Ricciardo lap time.
Alonso did the same at Eau Rouge, looks like they are not enforcing the rule here.
On his best lap? Post the video.

Are you sure it was on his best lap? I did not see it on tv, I just saw Riccardo goin wide, 5 meters out of white line.

I'm a biased fanboy because I'm calling out his idiotic mistakes, how intellectual of you. If I said his attitude was perfectly great and not sympathetic at all, because he's the greatest thing since sliced bread you calling me a fanboy would make more sense. You seem to respond defensively because I'm pressing you like another user on how exactly this is an issue as others bring it up each GP.

Well it's quite different and an absurd analogy, unless your in control of the six selected number like he is of his car and the decisions he makes will driving it...then sure it's completely the same. Since you're not in control, it hardly has any relevance. Why does he have to crack a smile, because you personally take fault if he doesn't? And yes if you wish not to continue that's fine, I just don't see why him wanting the best is a bad thing. The only biased thing you could say about this that I have, is due to believing the same thing in myself in everything I do as well and disliking just good.

Also not sure how a 3 year old PSN user name that I picked on a whim thinking that would be his year to get a WDC has any relevance and hasn't been used in two years.

EDIT: Also what am I upset about? I don't get how you convey that I'm simply asking you why his attitude for one is so important and why you want it to change. He's his own person, and just like people find Vettel childish and take fault in him why does it matter.

Ha. Your clearly defending him, that's why I called you a fanboy. Literally 30 seconds after I replied, you had replied to that comment. That's why I'm not going to bother debate it any more. One quote from you was "He's a playboy off the track and a perfectionist on it". You sure your not in love with the guy?, It's the impression I got anyway. All that aside, I've put down my opinions, you've questioned my opinions to which I don't think need answering. Nico took pole cleanly. He's looking like a major threat to Lewis's title hopes. The last thing Hamilton needs is to be hard on himself over one little mistake, he needs to focus on the bigger picture. Let's just see how this all unfolds.

Defending someone in a debate isn't a fanboyism, one might in fact argue that the propensity for the kind of eccentric opinion that represents "fanboyism" is actually by the accuser, it's the shot-of-last-resort.

On-topic: Hamilton struggling with brakes, he says. Could we see yet another pre-race brake change?

That's good to know, I still stand by what I said.

Not possible to post video because getting a recording is going to have to wait a few hours, but brundle even mentioned it in the sky coverage, not to mention Rosberg did the same thing in Q2 and got a personal best, difference in ricciardos case is he was the only one of the 3 to lose time, FIA tend to enforce the rule mostly on advantagious corners allthough imo it should be every corner for consistency.

I'm amazed how close Lewis got to Nico on that lap, I would guess he dropped probably around couple seconds in two of the corners so I would imagine Nico must have made some mistakes too or was a lot less committed in the corners. The margin to the other teams would have been even more massive if they got a good lap together.
