I want one that hauls ass and gets at least 35mpg.
The 2.5 will be pretty quick. The new 6 is the quickest of all the NA 4 cylinder sedans, doing 60 in 7.5. The 3 could take that into the sixes while also getting better mileage.

The 2.5L has about 185hp and torque. Needs about 100 more.

Come on, turbo'd 2.0L Skyactiv...

I'm looking forward to the normal model showing up around here, so I can take a test drive. Slightly smaller than the old one, and 200lbs lighter? In that slick-looking package? I foresee it doing well - at least as well as the current 3, which is one of the best-selling cars in the country here.

My only question is how much interior space there will be, because while the car itself is shorter, that nose looks substantially longer.

Today I saw, what I thought was the rear of a Hyundai, turned out to be a Mazda 6 when I went around the front to have a look.

Still not feeling Mazda's new design, the front looks beautiful though.

Wheelbase is longer, I assume that would help interior space.

Sorry for DP.

Speed3 anyone? (fan rendering, NOT official)

185hp should be quite fun in this car, especially with that equally fat torque figure considering the weight is down. Should be great for zipping around cities.

I think a GT model with ~200hp and a 6-Speed manual / dual clutch auto could be a good seller and an in-between model for those that don't want or need the Speed's power levels.

People forget that the last 3s had a 2.3 with a whopping 160 horses. This car has 25 more than the last car.

For a short time, there was the 2.5 with 170hp.

Honestly though, I just hope they'll let us have a 3s Sport and not force us into a Touring or GT to get the 2.5. They will though.

You want how many lines and angles?

It's a godawful mess from start to finish.

That's a great looking interior. I do love that center tablet-looking screen mounted on the dash, like what Mercedes has been doing.

LOVE it.

Really hope this new design language gives Mazda the recognition they deserve. They've always made great cars.

It looks like a Mazda's take on Italian styling to me. Beautiful lines. By far the most visually desirable compact in North America for me. 👍
