I know we have Hungary and UAE, but I don't know about Monaco, that would be a stretch xD.

France would work though :D

I still think that Mercedes will have the upper hand with Rosberg winning and Hamilton second. Massa will be between 3rd and 5th.

it would be cool if people from each GP's country were the OPs of the race threads.

Count on me the day F1 returns to Anderstorp!

Regarding the race, Sunday is my birthday and I'm hoping for a nice present, courtesy of Fernando Alonso.

It's actually been years since I looked forward to a new season as much as I do this year.

Wanting Lewis and Hulkenberg to do well, but I erred on the side of caution with my choices until i see a pecking order.

I'm happy F1 is back, should be a very interesting first few practice sessions.

Also, for those in the U.S., here is the schedule for NBC.

I think that Lewis will win this one.
After that I think it will be a fight between Nico, McLaren and Williams. I would love Williams to do well again.

Further down the field I hope Kobayashi does well but I don't think he will as the Caterham looks like it may be a slow car.

I think the Mercedes cars will be significantly faster in qualifying but particularly in race trim, the sheer number of safety cars will mean that fuel saving won't be an issue for most of the teams and with Pirelli going more conservative on the tyres I expect Hamilton to put in some quick laps during the race which will be the difference between him and Rosberg.

My top 5 for the race:

1. Hamilton
2. Rosberg
3. Massa
4. Alonso
5. Bottas

Quite excited about this year with the rulechanges and for seeing those turbo's at work, just a bloody shame i'm gonna be looking at gentleman members the whole time...

You could enter them in the prediction competition thread...

The first chicane at Adelaide (second from the left on the first row of pictures) there looks so different to how it currently looks. Real interesting to see, considering I was sitting at the modern equivalent of that grandstand a few weeks ago!

I see Ricciardo has learned how to tell the media what they want to hear - he's been telling the Australian media that the RB10's pre-season testing problems are not really problems at all.

What are they in his word then? I bet he told the media Ron Dennis but a hex on the car, and Christian couldn't conjure a protection spell strong enough

His words amounted to "testing is all about learning what the car can do; racing is a whole different beast".

There's an obsession in the media here where if you're Australian, you're competitive. It doesn't matter what the sport is - there is the expectation that you will at least finish on the podium. Not because of talent or ability, but because you're Australian. A lot of the ads for the race have made a big deal of the way Ricciardo is with the World Champions, even going so far as to suggest that he can win. Ricciardo clearly knows that the media do this (Webber got it, too), so they'll tell the media that it's not as bad as it look, whilst being careful not to say that it is as good as the media wants it to be.

Makes sense, thanks.

I don't think you can have female members, so to speak. But hey, whatever, it's cool :)
You had to look it up now didn't you?
Who knows what dumb aero rules the FIA is gonna implement for 2015, maybe we will have a female touch then. F1's with tits or something.

You do realize though that F1 has always had these ugly touches, I mean it was a funny joke that has now clamored into animosity toward the cars.

Well seeing that this will be my 22nd F1 season i realize quite a lot already, and as far as i can tell the shlung noses are a first, and will keep making me think 'WTF' for the next couple of months for sure, before i might get used to them sadly.

I'm past it already, just like I was with the step nose, most of them look great from the side angle and top and especially rear and others, even the STR which is probably the ugliest car next to Caterham. This is my 20th but there has been cars before me and you that were just as ugly if not more and care the modern times just as bad. However, in the end they all seem to fit the mold of F1.

I call it for 'Merica.

Yes and you must make the title as such too, "2014 'Merica Grand Prix"
