Not bad đź‘Ť

Will definitely be a nice change to the usual V8 sounds (though the BMW by far is to me the best sounding).

I just hope they can break the 200mph barrier in January

I think they will have a easier time then BUT who the heck knows. Not to beat a dead horse but they are comparing 2 types of cars from way different backgrounds, so Elliotts still is the one more impressive.

I think a P1 or even some of the P2 could produce a greater speed but speed isn't always the answer to being a great car or team.

LMP1 2009 spec could for sure. It probably could today too, but an lmp2 probably couldn't

...the DP was averaging 189 trap speed at Daytona and slightly faster at Kansas...

Weren't you the one that was saying they hit over 200mph at Daytona and never gave me the trap speeds you promised?

I've updated the car count for the USCC and it's looking like all races will be at maximum pitlane capacity. Can't wait for the November test and the Roar Before the 24. :D

Put the speedsource gtd entries in the P class. Gut feeling on this one. Probably a p2 Lola chassis.

Also, I've heard rumblings that the Einsteins in charge are going to cap the Rolex 24 to 60 entries...

I suspect Dyson or Picket might jump on this. Neither team has announced any plans for the USCC and both of their cars are now obsolete.

I believe its been said that Dyson was actually going to P2 with a Lola.

I really don't see that happening, and the entry list is based on what we know from reports and press releases, not pure speculation.

That would makes sense as Daytona only has 60 pit boxes. I believe they already ruled out pit box sharing for two car teams in the name of safety.

According to what I've read, Dyson is still undecided. They're torn between a WEC program, a P2 USCC program, and sitting out all together.

I believe Sylvain tremblay mentioned going to the P class on the grand am unleashed podcast that came out Tuesday.

Conti has shared pit boxes at Daytona for years now. Simply done: make a P class car share with a gtd and pc with gtlm. They pit on different laps during cautions. I assume all classes use the same fuel nozzle attachment, so the overhanging fuel rig shouldn't be an issue. I see it as manufacturer teams in gtlm not wanting to share pit boxes, but then again I'm heavily biased

Oh, I hadn't heard. Though the last time you mentioned a Grand Am Unleashed interview you claimed Compass 360 was going to race DPs in 2014, so I'll believe you when Speedsource announce this themselves (Or when I find the time to sift through a 76 minute interview for a single phrase that proves me wrong so that I may apologize to someone on the internet ).

Who's Conti?

 How would that work? How about this; if you're a two car team with two cars in the same class, you get one pit box.

We all know that isn't the American way of racing. 'Merica!

The problem is people own multiple cars in multiple classes. Therefore, you could be sure teams would use this to their advantage in order to block their competition or mess up their strategy.

Yeah true but I still think even if that wasn't the case they have multiple pit boxes for one team.

The Continental tire sports car challenge. The best road racing I've ever seen. Anything from a 3400 pound solid rear axle mustang to a Nissan 370z to the occasional dodge challenger with camaros, Porsches, Bmw M3s, and Subaru for next season. The other class has Mazda mx-5s, Honda civics, Bmw 328i's, Mazdaspeed 3s, Volkswagen jettas and golfs, and even 2 Nissan altimas. Awesome diverse racing with large grids generally 50 or more cars a race. Going to races, I've seen multiple car teams sharing spots with their own team along with a team from another class like at Barber where basically everyone has to share a spot.

Then you never watched BTCC or WTCC back during the 90s.

To each his own. No doubts it was great from the youtube I've watched, but I prefer conti. If I was old enough to remember it and had sufficient funds back then, I would have been going to those races and watching it on tv. If I had funds now, I would be going to btcc races as well as wec, dtm, and Aussie v8s. All of those are very interesting and fun to watch just from my point of view I like conti better

I wouldn't waste my time on BTCC now I think WTCC is better along with V8s which I've loved for years, but I haven't seen Conti do anything to special I guess. I just want to see racing from back in the day again especially 90s and early 2000s Sport car racing, which I hope USCR produces and then flows into WEC from this side of the world.

I'm hoping for more along the lines of the mid-80s prototype and grand touring action, but I don't see that happening again thanks to banning tobacco advertising. I believe the alms race at COTA outdrew the wec, so I'm not all that hot on making it the wecUSA. The late 90s was a great period as well. I see the DP as a continuation of what was raced in the late 90s especially since the gen 3 DP update. All in all, as long as they don't make the same mistakes which have been made time and time again, we'll see something special here. The Gt and Gt+ format is a good start imo and should be adopted worldwide. DP and P2 balancing is going to be ridiculous and everything will be criticized. I would have picked one or the other from the get go and gone with it if I called the shots. Regardless, I'll be in the stands for the Rolex 24 next January

Just read this from John Dagys twitter. Can't understand what's happening if true :odd:

IMO, it's a serious problem if we have teams, like @ConquestRacing and @AMR_Official committing to NAEC but not being confirmed due to space

Basically more teams have signed up than there are entries, so someone's going to have to get kicked out...

Basically, if Imsa says they don't want anymore cars on the track, then teams can't race. A popular strategy used by the 24 hours of Le mans
