It's good to see that they have thought about all the positions with the electronic display and seperating the GT classes with the windshield banners.
I think the banners would be enough.
Teams can paint splitters, side effects and I believe the wing itself to help differentiate their cars.

This electronic ID system works for me as long as it works all the time.
Don't implement an electronic system that won't be used.
I don't remember the last time I saw it used at Lime Rock.

Hopefully we will see teams use more lights to ID their own cars.
Like these.

I see Tudor Championship TV is available on the series website by going to 'Multimedia'. How long after each race do you guys think the racing will be available to watch in full?

Also what exactly is the main speed and performance difference between the LM and Daytona Prototypes and GT's?

If it's anything like Grand Am TV was, the full race should be available about 24-48 hours after the live airing.

I look forward to getting into it a bit more. I was all set to start taking an active interest in the ALMS and the Rolex Series but when I realised they were going to end by merging I let it cool down.

Seems to me that the majority of the teams are established Rolex teams like Sahlen, Extreme Speed and Spirit of Daytona. Be interesting to see how the teams with Le Mans cars perform against those with DP cars. At a technical level I would imagine the LM cars like the HPD-ARX cars of Extreme Speed will be quite different to the DP cars. Even if the performance levels are similar.

To be honest, most fans think DPs and P2 cars should have been separate classes. As some have stated before, balancing the performance of a DP and P2 is like trying to balance the performance of an F1 car and an Indycar. It's just not going to work in my opinion. However, come 2017, we will have a unified prototype car.

Considering what I just read in Dagy's Silly Season update, we might be seeing the Lizard Livery on Audi's, which would explain this image somewhat.

That it would. It also explains the statement made by Audi chief engineer Brad Kettler when he stated that the Audi customer program is set to expand from its two car effort with Fall Line and up to a possible six car effort with multiple teams.

Is AJR still going to have their Audi?

I believe GMG racing bought the Audi R8 that AJR technically leased through the Audi Customer Racing Program and will be racing it full season next year. AJR is focusing on their new 911 America for 2014.

Ecoboost FTW! ("New" paint scheme also)

You must have bumped your head, sure they would be if they had the same amount of money going to them as Perez or Esteban Guttierrez
I don't know, given their past in Grand-Am and their relationship with NASCAR, not to mention they were clearly the top funded DP team, I wouldn't bet against them just yet.

Does this answer the questions over Dyson for 2014?

Well, no. Not really. Dyson have had Mazda power for years, Mazda were supposed to demonstrate a new engine at La Sarthe in 2013? Also the 24 Heures Du Mans sticker says 2013 on it.

Unless i'm missing your point.

I just saw the picture in a SEMA gallery. I saw a Lola P2 with a Mazda engine and Continental tyres and assumed it might be something for next year.

I've actually seen that very car in person at the Sahlen Six Hours at the Glen. However, it's worth noting that when the car was at Watkins Glen, it had Michelin Tires on it if I remember correctly. I believe Speedsource has been rumored to be entering P2 with Mazda power.

Yup, nothing but a show car... Was at the Mazda spot at Sebring this year too on the same livery and Skyactive decals.

Wouldn't it be easier for everyone involved to just scrap the DPs and buy into the DTM/SuperGT chassis as the new generation of DP?
A DTM/SuperGT chasis would easily be balanced with the P2 cars and still retain the shape of a production car which is what GA wanted with the DP anyways...

Oh yea sure, let's make 3/4 the p class field spend millions of dollars buying a bramd new car while the other 1/4 gets to not change anything...

See snaepers post above for reason why
