@Wilbur
You do realize it isn't going to end because you want it to Wilbur. You may not care but others do and they only do so due to the snobbish attitudes some have toward P2 or DP. My issue as far as DP goes is that they have the money to make the changes for the motor racing world that isn't vastly expensive. The other issue I have is that people are shutting down DP overall because they are old hat but they are being updated so give them a chance to be beat on the track then beat them up.

If it were up to me I'd rather just see all GT racing here, because overall American groups aren't putting out the technology the Europeans and Japanese are and have planned for Le Mans in general. I wish certain groups would quit playing it safe in P2 which is a former shell of itself and build challengers to take on the world in P1, but when car groups here can creates easy brand awareness with NASCAR or Indy, or even the more recognizable GT cars you don't need to build a P1 space ship.

Props. Being man enough to say you're a fan of a team that hasn't done very well the past 2 years? That's good stuff.

I was a Dyson fan long before MM Pickett came along and started winning. You can therefore imagine how hard it was for me to watch the last couple of ALMS seasons, but you can't just root for someone else (No really, you can't. There were literally only two cars in P1).

Could've easily jumped on the Rebellion bandwagon haha.

You mean the team that sent one of their cars to the US so they could win overall and feel better about themselves because they constantly keep losing to Audi and Toyota? Yeah, no thanks. Rebellion Racing is like the child that got bullied by the big kids and so he therefore took his anger out on someone he knew he could beat down.

In fairness, MM weren't an easy win. Only reason they won Petit two years running is because mechanical trouble struck MM otherwise they would have gotten right back on them and fought till the end.

Surprise, surprise, the top comment is an ALMS snob expressing joy at a team withdrawing.

Stay classy, whoever you are.

I am not entirely sure how someone withdrawing can bring someone such joy.

Yep, that would apparently make you one of them

I'm gonna go off on a limb and say no one's really arguing for the DP as a machine, rather, they love the teams that use them. Everyone knows a P2 car is waaay cooler looking :sly:

Oh my gosh. Everyone shut the (blank) up.

Some people prefer P2 cars- awesome.
Some people like DP's. Dank.

Both have pros and cons. But there's no reason to bag on one or the other. Seriously, just stop. If someone likes the other car, there's no reason to call them out.

For real. Let's end this.

I was just being sarcastic. They're both racing machines, and they're both essential to the new sires, but when you put two totally different cars in one class, strong opinion do arise.

Sarcasm or not, I like the DP because it put on some of the best racing I've seen. Now that Montoya's gone, I have no reason to not openly hate Ganassi, and the only teams I gave half a care about were Gainsco and Wayne Taylor. But every time I watched a race, I was entertained. That's why the ALMS snobs never fail to get on my nerves when they spew their bs.

With the increase in downforce needed, I just hope it doesn't negatively affect the racing.

Seems to work fine for other racing groups, not sure why aero is a bad thing all of a sudden.

Not that Montoya being there seemed to stop you anyway if your posts in the Indycar thread are anything to go by

Seen a Nascar race lately? How about an F1 race before DRS? The chances of it getting that bad are unlikely, but it's enough to make me nervous.

Dixie and Dario were getting on my nerves even before he decided to axe Montoya. That was just the icing on the cake.

Scott Pruett's cool and all, but meh. I don't like him enough.

I'm pretty sure you know the answer to all these questions since you see me as one of the top contributors to all those threads so...

Also the FIA and FOM are to blame for the way F1 is, also the FIA highly limits aero. It's also been shown that even if you took aero away from Nascar you'd still have issues (e.g. Truck series). It goes both ways, the only way things will work are if they people in charge actually make rules that work, and not a gimmick.

Oh btw, more IMSAlogic. They've put in a Nov. 22 full season entry deadline...

And Holy Lizard that'll take some getting used to.

Wow, that's gonna be tough to get used to. I didn't watch much Grand-Am this season, but wasn't the Audi not very good? (Other than Daytona where they were basically a factory team) Or was the team running it just bad?

Having said that, I have no doubts the Lizards will make it a competitive package.

Brad Kettler implied that the lack of a rear diffuser hurt the Am drivers. Of course, sans splitter and being thrashed around by Audi's best meant they were very quick at Daytona. It's understood that they have been allowed to put the diffuser back on.

It was kinda the combination of the car being still relatively new (hasn't had a full season under it like the Ferrari does) and the team being new to the series. Hopefully with Flying Lizard being the first team to run it a full season, the car can actually be properly developed.
