No idea if it has been mentioned but Bill Auberlen will partner Andy P in the #55 Team RLL Z4 and in the #56 is Dirk Muller and John Edwards.

Also Joey Hand has been confirmed as the Additional Driver for the #3 Corvette Racing Chevy Corvette C7.R car.

Joey Hand? You sure? I can't see the BMW factory liking that at all..

Man I love multy class racing, but that post right there can be extremely confusing for new comers and the casual fan.
I wish there was only 2 classes, yes I know everyone has their own reasons and favorites. But it should be just 2 classes, one GT class and one Protototype class.
I totally agree

So the new continental tire was a smashing success. Ganassi did a 1.38 ESM did a 1.41. That Ford bodywork is slowly growing on me too

I have kinda been out of the loop since I first heard about the merger because I kinda upset but now I'm over that and I am actually kind of excited about the upcoming season.

@RACECAR I just went and searched the actual specs for the cars, but couldn't find power outputs for a couple like the Camaro from Riley Technologies. The cars are supposedly homologated by the FIA because GS is suppose to fall under GT4 standards. And since we know the cars in GT4 aren't too highly modified from their regular road going versions...

Sorry I have been busy and haven't followed much lately. I will be at the 24hrs of Daytona and 12hrs of Sebring. Will all of the TV broadcasts be on Fox Sports 2? If that's the case I'm pretty pissed. I shouldn't have to subscribe to another package to see the races. I only get FS1 and hate it by the way. Will FS1 at least replay broadcast the race the next day so people that don't have FS2 can see the race?

I believe IMSA.com or its youtube channel will upload all races in full with no commercial breaks roughly 24 - 48 hours after the event like GA.com used to.

Yes, an American racing series streamed all their races live to everyone...except us Americans. We had to wait a day and get the cut-up version full of commercials on the tele :banghead:
Unless your provider did ESPN 3 or whatever they called it at the end.

I and others had many issues with it, so that wasn't something some of us found useful. If anything I rather see all motorsports go to Fox or NBC and stay off of ESPN since they don't care but they can manage to show every oddball sports or amateur event. Really don't get their ideas anymore.

For two years I had flag-to-flag coverage on my living room TV without paying an extra penny for access or putting forth any extra effort. That's my first priority.

I don't know how that means they don't care. Oddball sports on other channels is far preferable to interrupting my race for other mainstream sports on my current channel.

But we've been around this subject. None of the broadcasters got it 100% right. We're probably a decade from the technology getting so that fiscal realities and fan preferences can meet.

I just had an idea: Race coverage via drone cameras.

My point is they don't really care about auto sports, that was all. Considering what was on my television at times when ESPN3 was showing one of the many endurance races or what was on ABC...I'd say racing could have easily taken priority that is all.

and as I said some of us didn't have as much luck as you with coverage, while others did.

Advertising takes priority. That's the problem. In a world where Duck Dynasty is on everything, the exciting world of bass fishing and strong men will gain priority.

Their intent was good. Implementation and/or technical limitations did not go perfectly. I'd be in a different boat this year, as my provider dropped ESPN online support after a contractual dispute.
Just in time for the app channel to hit Roku too.

I do believe Chromecast and the like will bring changes. HBO, ESPN, and other content suppliers may find that they can make more offering online subscriptions direct to consumers. Many sports leagues have done it themselves. If not, they'll tie their fate to that of service providers. I now personally know of six households that have cut cable. More if we count people I know online.

What we need is a sports version of Hulu Plus. $10-$20 a month to watch ad-supported sports, likely delayed, but with a premium live option or one-time live event (PPV model) stream charge.
