Soooo is anyone else excited for this series? I am.

Yeah pretty sure we all are pretty excited to get it underway! Hopefully can order my Rolex tickets in the next couple weeks, then it will be there and I can rock my Rum Bum shirt.

Didn't know if anyone saw this.

‘Twas the night before Daytona, and all through the tech line
Not a rulebook was brewing, not even a guideline.
The crewmen prepared with diligence and care,
in hopes that some clarity may soon be there.

The drivers would wine all over Facebook and Twitter,
but silence and pushback just made everyone bitter.
The accountants would Email, and speculation from engineers,
for no one predicted a missing rule book, it’s been over a year.

When in everyone’s Email there arose such a chime!
Alas, just another Twitter post, Andy Lally clearly has too much time.
Glued to their Emails, Team Owners kept a keen eye
But in spite of constant requests, they all read one simple reply:

“Ask Taylor, ask Stallings, ask Ganassi or Baron,
Maybe try Risi, try Rahal, try Turner or Neiman.
They can’t all be in the dark, someone must know something,
But apparently not, if it wasn’t funny it would be insulting.”

With teams springing to action for a historic new debut,
Anxiety is high, especially with new rules in lieu.
Regardless of this, we wish the best to our fans and their family,
We especially hope this release doesn’t get us a penalty.

Happy Holidays,
Magnus Racing

Soooo is anyone else excited for this series? I am.
I'll be at the Daytona 24hr and 12hr of Sebring. Can't come soon enough. Excited seeing the C7.R debut as well as a brand new racing series :) Going to be interesting seeing some of the cars from ALMS & Rolex on the same track. I really want to see USCR succeed.

I'll be at the Rolex 24 at least. I'm hoping that Sebring, VIR, and PLM are on my schedule as well. Not sure though

If you have to pick one, Sebring is a must!!! Nothing in North America comes close to the Sebring experience!

Lada's Rob Huff will drive for Starworks Motorsport in selected rounds of the 2014 USCC season in their Oreca FLM09.

Excellent news. That is (iirc) 13 British drivers over the different classes over the season. Andy Meyrick, Katherine Legge, Ryan Dalziel, Justin Wilson, Richard Westbrook, Tom Kimber-Smith, Sam Bird, Rob Huff, Andy Priaulx, Olivier Gavin, Nick Tandy, Robin Liddell and Ian James. It is 14 if you count Darren Turner.

Also it will be interesting to see how the teams with drivers from the same country fare against those who have a team from across the globe. For example in the Prototype Class both Marsh Racing, Wayne Taylor Racing, the #2 Extreme Sports Motorsports, Muscle Milk and DeltaWing Racing Cars will have pairs of drivers from the same nation. But the others in Action Express Racing, Chip Ganassi, Michael Shank, OAK Racing and Spirit of Daytona will not. SpeedSource are yet to confirm a partner for Tristan Nunez and Sylvian Tremblay.

Do you think it is going to make a difference? Personally, I think you put fast drivers in fast cars they are going to go fast no matter where they are from. Guess we will see.

Just thinking that maybe they will have a better understanding of each other if they are from the same place.

If Audi's success at Le Mans is anything to go by, that hardly has been a problem.

When was the second test suppose to be scheduled?

Im really worried. If all the DPs have to withdraw from the 24 hours it will really hurt the series

http://sportscar365.com/imsa/tusc/imsa-increases-grid-capacity-for-naec-rounds/

Looks like they'll open up the grids a bit more for the NAEC... This will force some teams to double up on single pit stalls. Really shouldn't be a big deal, at the Nurburgring 4 cars share one stall for the 24

Also, the use of "0" in car numbers is getting silly. Made sense when the ILMC would run a
longside the ALMS, and was clever when Aston Martin used the "007", but just randomly adding numbers is stupid. 551? No. Try 51. It'll confuse the heck out of the "casual" fan that they claim they need to attract.
"Wait i thought the 7 was a Proto-thing???"
"Oh no, that's the 07."

In the past, the Level 5 cars have been listed as the 551 and 552, along with other cars with 3 digit plates. Nothing new there.
PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports is using the 52 in the same PC class .
Level 5 also has the 555 Ferrari in GTD.

As for the adding 0's, the 7 is going to Starworks in the PC class.
In the same (PC) class there will also be an 8 and 08, that could be confusing but with the same car (oreca) and # plate color we know it's in the same class.
And yes the 007 is quite appropriate. Even more so back when it was in British Racing Green.
No James Bond but Lord Drayson will do/did.

On another note, it's great to see Krohn listed in GTLM.
It'll be good to see a previous CTSCC ST Champion (Jonsson) here in the USA in a Ferrari instead of a Kia.
