Ugh, that Ford DP is hideous! :yuck: Ugly car, and ugly livery. (Not helped by the mandatory red endplates/mirrors either.) Where as the Patron HPD looks excellent as always despite the red.

C7 'Vette looks sexy, can't wait to see it in race paint

DP's are starting to look better and better! Such a huge contrast to the old brick gen 1 DP's we had.

Sorry if it has already been mentioned but Flying Lizards Motorsport have completed their line-up. Seith Neiman will be partnered by Dion von Moltke in #35 and Nelson Canache and Spencer Pumpelly will be in the #45.

Four more British drivers in the GTD Class with James Walker and Olivier Jarvis as additional drivers in the #46 Fall-Line Motorsport. And Matt Bell who is from my neck of the woods will be an additional driver to Paul Miller Racing. And Allesandro Latif will be an additional driver in the #35 Flying Lizards Motorsport Audi R8.

In the Prototype Class Alex Brundle and Tom Dyer are the additional drivers in the Muscle Milk Oreca-Nissan and unless I have mentioned if before Bradley Smith will join Max Papis in the Marsh Racing Corvette DP.

Looks surprisingly competitive - GTD and GTLM are essentially same pace, and P, PC are similar paced... PC is like 5 seconds off of P class, and a DP is fastest in P.

I give up - too many classes and they aren't even very far apart in performance.

Is it to early to start making predictions about who will win each class? Are they continuing live streaming like they had last year for ALMS races...?

class champions:
P: Ganassi
PC: Starworks
GTLM: CORE
GTD: Flying Lizard

Dagys posted this yesterday. ***It’s understood the TBA GT Daytona entry, believed to have been the Nissan GT-R GT3 that tested in IMSA specification last month, has been withdrawn, making way for the third Scuderia Corsa Ferrari to take the Rolex 24 start.

I'm guessing this was to be Bryan and Steve's possible ride with Pickett??

Steve posted on his facebook last week about not racing at Daytona, so probably.

Apologies if already stated or in another area. Is anyone setting up their own Tudor Cars, such as Corvettes, F458s, and any other car that is currently running in it? I setup a 458 and I am just about dead on to the times placed on yesterdays P2 Roar before the 24.

In case this hasn't been posted yet, Tully's is the official coffee of IMSA now, and Daytona, Sebring, WGI, and the PLM are now part of the Patron Tequila North American Endurance Championship. Also, Patron has sponsored the Long Beach race. They're doubling the purse to $300,000

Thanks to Michael Booth on the iRacing forums, here is the aggregate times of the Roar before the 24 so far. P class can pretty much be ignored as they're all probably sandbagging, but the other classes all looks to be incredibly close as expected.

C7 Corvettes and the new Porsches look strong on debut in GTLM. The Mazda prototypes on the other hand have had a baptism by fire, failing to complete 20+ laps in any one session. They sit mired at the bottom of the times, slower even than mostGTD cars.

The Ford turbo engines are having reliability issues

If enough DPs break down due to the stress of all that extra speed put on them then just maybe a P2 car has a chance. But those things are fragile

Maybe a GTLM car wins overall? Who knows

That's what most people are forgetting, a DP goes faster for one lap and people write off the entire series, the LMPs have a shot because I think if they all stay out of trouble, they should all go the distance. The HPD and Nissan engine are proven endurance winners. As said above, the new Ford DP engine is having problems already and who knows if they can last 24 hours, the Corvette DP is a good bet to win if they can go the distance. Wayne Taylor is arguably the best team campaigning one and their experience with one should make them solid contenders, I don't think I can say the same about Ganassi, they're using a brand new, unproven engine so who knows.. As far as LMPs go, ESM has a very strong lineup as does Muscle Milk.. It's all very interesting.. As far as the other classes go, it's a complete crap shoot for the most part. LMPC is loaded with potential class winners and pretty much every car has a shot at winning. GTLM is the same, but I'd put my money on Corvette or Porsche. GTD is even more wide open; Alex Job, The Lizards, Turner, they all have a shot at winning. I don't know about you guys, but I'm super excited.

Mandatory drool buckets should accompany the Shank Ford imo

Number plates are the only bad part to me

I love the new look of them, actually even Ganassi's cars look great. What car really looks good to me even though there is no change is the SOD DP! I love the little bit of red it has.

You can't judge a series by one race only, either. The DP's might be at an advantage speed-wise at Daytona, but it might (should) be a different story on the slower, twistier tracks.

Here I am cheering on the Deltawing!
Go little car go!

Oh dear... Surely this is how the majority of viewers watch motorsport series' like this one?

For UKers, Motors TV have confirmed they'll be showing all the USC live including Daytona so at least that's an option if not other streams.

I have some doubts for Porsche and Corvette in GTLM- new cars usually have bugs. I'd be more apt to choose the Ferrari for the class win. BMW has a strong lineup as well. Wouldn't count out Aston Martin either, they had an awesome season...

GTD is wide open for the most part... I know GMG shook down their R8 at Thunderhill, they had alternator problems all the time. Other than that, I'm thinking it's going to be a "fewest problems wins" type class.

PC is pretty wide too.

P, well, it sounds like the Fords may run into trouble, and I have little faith in the Mazda being reliable in time. Delta-Action-ADR-Express would be my DP pick, and the P2 winner will be Muscle Milk or Oak, since I don't really rate ESM at this point in time...
