You know what's really pathetic about this current format? Hypothetically, a driver could win all of the first 35 races but finish second at Homestead and lose the championship.

True. To be honest, Joey Logano should have won the championship, but because of this stupid format, ended up eliminated before Homestead.

And the same may happen to William Byron, who has won 6 races, but if doesn't win, and has a bad points day at Texas or Phoenix, he will lose the championship.

in 2012, where he was well on his way to beating Keselowski and dominating the race before an unscheduled pit stop turned into an equipment failure

Huh? In 2012 Kyle Busch led something like 200 laps and was dominated the race until a late pit stop. Jimmy ran ok but, only led when him and Kyle where pitting at different times, Keselowski raced just hard enough to keep Jimmy close and not get into any trouble.

I remember well as I was there that day.

The Chase was designed to make NASCAR "exciting" again. Now the Chase has evolved into this monster and yet fans still don't go to races compared to pre Chase. I understand all major motorsports have been down but the Chase isn't putting butts in the seats. It's give drivers a shot at a title that don't deserve it.

The Xfinity and Trucks should be running on more Non Cup tracks. So many great short tracks and venues could be used for either of the two series.

The Chase cheapens the regular season to the point where it's an afterthought. NASCAR should have known this in 2005 but doubled-down on the stupid.

YUP!!! I have been going to Watkins Glen for 18 years now. The new Chase only makes the race exciting (Chase wise) if AJ can win or not.

I just did the quiz, entered my info, selected the Tony Stewart diecast, accepted the terms and conditions and it said that my order will be shipped. Does that mean I won? Is this some sort of giveaway? Not some sweepstakes?

Just wondering if anyone has received their diecast yet? Going on 3 months now and nothing.

I have the email they sent and it directs to afpco.com which is some sort of fulfillment company. It was dated 8/26. I'm wondering if they didn't expect that link to get posted all over the internet and got bombarded because I know of at least 10 people not including GTP who all supposedly have a diecast coming. I believe @Jahgee posted that link here from Reddit originally.

Im just going to leave this here....

I saw a Trump/Pence Top Alcohol Funny Car watching drag racing the other day. No biggie. Place your sponsor here. I think Hillary needs to sponsor a Cup car more than Trump does but this ain't the politics thread.

"Rolling billboards" sums it up. I was always a fan of the embarrassing penis pill sponsors like Viagra for Mark Martin and Extenze for Robby Gordon. Pay the sponsorship and I'd run whatever they wanted.
