Lister Storm LMP. A failure of a prototype (not quite up to GT-R LM or AMR-One failure levels) that raced sporadically in the early 00's.

Wasn't much of a failure considering it actually won a race..... By 5 laps....

I'm gonna guess it was against cars that weren't exactly challenging it in anyway considering how terribly off pace it was in most of its outings.

The field for that Vallelunga race the Lister won wasn't nothing to write home about.

Results.

No kidding...car was 5 years old in '04 (not actual team or year, photo from 1999 at Donington):

I remember that Lister being in this Le Mans video game for the original XBOX that had the Cadillac lmp1, Panoz lmp1, Audi R8 and a couple others. I think it was called Test Drive Le Mans?

EDIT: I think TD LM was for dreamcast, but I remember that car being on an xbox game!

EDIT 2: Found it-

Well, it was supposed to (along with the Corvette C5-R) but in the end, both weren't in the game despite the presence of file directories for both cars on the disc. It had:

PRO
-Audi R8
-Bentley EXP Speed 8
-BMW V12 LMR
-Panoz LMP 01-Evo
-Dome S101
-Lister Storm LMP (Yep, that was there and hilariously, was the fastest car in the game  )
-Pilbeam MP84 (An LMP675 car, which is actually more of a FIA SR2 category car)

GTS
-Vemac RD180
-Sintura S99 GT1
-Lister Storm
-Panoz Esperante GTR-1
-McLaren F1 GTR

GT
-Audi TT-R
-BMW M3 GTR
-Noble M12 GTO
-Quaife R4 GT1

Weirdly, it also had a "Rockingham Champ Car", which is basically a Reynard 02i in Rockingham Speedway livery.

I definitely remember that Lister being THE FASTEST thing on those straights. I could never catch him unless I used the same car. Even drafting I couldn't pass. Crazy I remember that from over a decade ago.

Worthy of mention, Lister came back to Vallelunga in 2005 to defend their title and lost to a Maserati MC12. By 15 laps.

Also worthy of mention in that same race; one team entered with an ex-BPR Ferrari F40, 9 years after said BPR championship went extinct and 18 years after the first F40 was produced, showing just how serious the competition actually was.

How the hell do you stop AF Corse from winning?

Seriously, for as long as I can remember they have always been the ones absolutely dominating in their Ferraris...

Ford are keeping their sandbags in the passenger seat until Le Mans. The WEC rounds are just test sessions for them.

Toyota and Ferrari much quicker than anyone in their class in sector 2 ( Les Combes to Stavelot).

Every GTE Pro is sandbagging. Calling BS on these cars not being faster than last year specs.

Toyota is running the high downforce aero so sector 2 would certainly favour them and not the low-drag Audi and Porsche.

Great to see my beloved Toyota topping a session again. It has been a while!

True, but their top speed is comparable to both Porsche and Audi's (http://fiawec.alkamelsystems.com/) even though they're running low drag. That shows Toyota has some POWER!
