What sucks about that decision is, the GT-R ran fwd on the straights. Not in corners. So, if the front stopped functioning, it would be similar to disconnecting the drive shaft.
I understand Audi modified the #7 by physically removing the drive shaft. Them's the rules. Shame they couldn't drive it as such.

How Does Kobayashi rank up soo far?

I haven't been watching much of the races, but ever since he has taken Wurz seat the 2nd Toyota has Dominated the 1st team.
He's fast, really fast. At Le Mans he made one mistake, but he was pushing and the car was damaged from a night stint contact with a GTE (I think Conway was behind the wheel). At Fuji it really showed, he has experience at the track from Super Formula. Nakajima showed well in this race as well.

I always wished him well in Formula 1 but he wasn't on the right teams. You could tell he loved to race and just being there was an honor. It's nice to see him and many other ex-F1 drivers find success in other forms of motorsport.

The battle for LMP2 was great. Bruno Senna and Will Stevens. Two F1 drivers that were stuck in bad teams. Watching them race side by side in LMP2 just makes me think they're thinking "I'm glad we finally get to do this!"

There's enough room in the wec for these ex-f1 guys to shine, if they really can. I'm betting Kovalainen gets in soon if he continues to do well in Super GT.

Remember Nissan's LMP1 program? It seems they'd like to forget.

Any more images or a link to a credible article?
Found it on Twitter yesterday, can't remember who tweeted it. It doesn't look 'shopped though. It's not exactly news worthy either, the program was cancelled ages ago so I can't see it being reported anywhere.

A reverse image search shows the pics been around since January. I'm guessing they were just in the process of moving stuff around and parked it there temporarily. Even racing failures can catch some money on the collectors circuit.

This^^ working or not its was still a good looking car and as far as I'm aware would be the only FWD LMP1 car, a small disastrous piece of history, still history nonetheless

It is such a pity that the GT-R LM Nismo was a disaster. On one hand fair play to Nissan for trying something different at the highest level, but on the other hand you have to wonder that surely if it was an approach with real merit and potential it would have been tried before.

If Nissan had have overcome it's issues with overheating and so on I think it would have been amazing to see what it could do down Mulsanne with it's super slippy aero after having being launched by 1500bhp.

I still think it is a very cool looking car though and I wish we would get to see it in games. However, I imagine Nissan want such a high profile failure to be forgotten about as quickly as possible.

The car was heading towards wide rear tires based on the last testing images, and the hybrid was supposed to be a brand new unit. That was the biggest failure of the car. With an actual working hybrid at the (wider) rear wheels, it would have been a monster deserving of the godzilla name.

Oh so in 2030 Le Mans and Dakar will be in one. So you have to start from Le Mans and get to Dakar and back to Le Mans in 24 hours....wow
That artist needs a slap in the face. :banghead: Actually they all do...this is what happens when non-racing people try and predict the future of its progression.
