Think this has been the best year for retro round so far. The grid is looking fantastic. Shame that T8 and three of the Tickford cars didn't play.

Triple 8 would be stingy enough to not join in.

Encouraged that both WAU cars were in the top ten across all three sessions today.
The ECB SuperUtes fleet will race with an upgraded rear end this weekend as well as wheel teethers on all corners of the cars.

Glad to hear that. 👍

The Walkinshaw cars look absolutely incredible this weekend. I always thought the the 2008 HRT car was underrated and sort of forgotten. It’s not super ‘retro’ but it just looks magnificent.

Mostert’s car looks better on track than it did when it was first announced, but doesn’t look as good as the purple based retro cars from the last couple of years.

In terms of cars that fit the ‘retro’ bill the best, the Preston Hire car looks fantastic but it’s Blanchard’s B&H car that takes the cake. It’s absolutely brilliant.

I did like looking at Blanchard's car on TV. Just needs white wheels.

Melbourne weather: 4 seasons in the same hour. Gotta love it.

Edit: That XD in TCM, looks cool. Goes fast too.

The wet weather is going to make the co-drivers race, rather interesting. Dumbrell will probably run away with it but they could be some action around the midfield.

Ye. Whincup gets an 8th Championship. Called it.
Only hope is for WAU to steal points from RBHRT.

Chaz and Andre did real good. Still, I think Rullo is going to do well.

Rullo gone.

Jacobson better not be called in. Whincup had the same damage at Sydney.

Oh jeez. The 18.

Just started with a small amount of hail at my place. I live about 25 min away from Sandown. It’ll be interesting if the same weather makes its to Sandown. Definitely looks like it is getting darker there.

Edit: yep there it is.

Very impressed they got through turn 1

Would never have thought I’d see Aaren Russell leading a race.

One hell of a job by the Preston Crew to get the #18 repaired in time for the race. Didn't think we'd see that car until tomorrow.

So I’m thinking there’s no love lost between Craig Lowndes & Shane Van Gisbergen at the moment.

Judging the post-race interviews they both did with Greg Murphy, their mouths may have said one thing, the body language & expressions on their faces told us otherwise.

Murph was on to it too.

Yeah a bit of beef there, probably means that next season that Lowndes and Whincup will be reunited again

I’d say that’s just about a done deal.

Craig & Jamie like a car set up in a very similar way, can live with the happy medium and the results from when they last drove together speak for themselves.

The loser in all this is Paul Dumbrell.
He’s still driving as well as ever & ably demonstrated on Friday that he’s still got the speed.

Finally. Forget Skaife and Ingall's race suits, Jessica Yates is wearing something decent.

Clever brake change by NISMO.

The #99 running low rider hydraulics in the front. Very retro. :sly:
