A-Spec 415PP Honda Civic Competition

Do you have a tune? Been looking for one with this but everyone else seems to favor the type r 08.

I dont really tune any of my cars that much to be honest. I adjust the top speed according to the track. Then lower the front suspension 5 notches and the back suspension 6 notches. I then set the toe in angle to 0.3 back and 0.5 front. With this setup I leave my final down shift till just as I turn in initiallly which gets the rear to step out, which helps with understeer in the FF cars, and then catch it on the throttle. Was especially fun in the Lambo seasonal with a Gallardo. Drifting round the outside of a Murcialogo at Bergwerk:dopey: I use a DS3 if you were wondering so works best as theres not much throttle control, pretty much full or no throttle really.
Try it out, good luck.

I finally won Clubman Stage Route 5 reverse with a Honda CIVIC TYPE R ’08 with maximum ballast moved fully rearward and as much power as it took to get me to 415pp. All the none pp related upgrades and, after a lot of tweaking of the suspension, differential and gearing, I eventually did it. The thing caught other cars on the straights and drifted round most corners with a boot full of throttle. Very hairy :scared: and the 'successful' tune made second place by 0.1s, 1.1s, 0.05s and third at 1.2s behind the leader (I got punted in the last but one corner by the car I'd just passed for second place! :banghead:) before winning by 0.8s, taking the lead in the same last but one corner in the tunnel.

Great fun and I'm not going to be driving a Civic for a good while now! :gtpflag:

Just for a challenge I revisited Route 5 in a bone stock 08 Type R. After a few tries got a win! Added my weight in ballast and moved it to the rear about 20 I think. No ABS and BB of 2/1. 415pp. Not the cleanest of laps but no wall smashing in turn 1, heh.

Hey all, my first post. Just joined a few days ago.

So for you button mashers' out there, I'm one, haven't committed to a wheel yet (getting the Thrustmaster t500rs as soon as the mancave and racing simulator are set up). DS3 users here's my set up and tune for the Honda Civic seasonal.

Granted I do have a slight OCD and the seasonal's is where I like to take a new premium car and get it broken in properly and do my tuning tweeks while making some serious dough.

Honda Civic Type R '08 (Vivid Blue Pearl) tune: from 0.0 - 196.4 miles in this seasonal.

Good Luck all, Also I have a BMW Concept Series 1 tii '07 ticket for any takers, I got one good and dialed in already. My PSN name is my username on this board "RizingPhoenix," I was one of the first 2000 PSN user's back in 2005 I was a pre-release PS3 tester in a previous life.👍

I rarely ever post on this forum, I usually just soak up all of the experience of the other members. I had to tank RizingPhoenix for this tune. I was having trouble finishing in 3rd when I started the Special Stage and with this tune I finished ahead by 5 seconds! It was an awesome feeling to finally get the win after trying the race what seemed like a million times.

Will have to try this then.

I'm still stuck on Special Route Reverse :dunce:

Actually this is the tune I already have used.

So still fourth and +13 seconds off.

The problem is I set the ratios but then when doing top speed it says 240, I change tis and the ratios all change upwards again.

I could try it again leaving top speed at 199 I suppose and see if that makes any difference.

EDIT: Carved four seconds off but still fouth set at 193.

EDIT: Fourth but now only 3.30 secs off just by changing top speed and ratios from knowledge I have learned.

Okay so this is the reason it does not work. Tuned the car exactly as per instructions but with the gear ratios as instructed the mph is 193 where it should be 240 though that says kph and so I do not understand it, either way I would like to know how to win by 5 seconds as I am still 4 seconds off the lead.

You are not setting the gearbox correctly and if you have it set to 193mph then that's part of the reason you are so far off the pace. The maximum speed you need for that track is 125-130mph.

To set the gearbox correctly follow these instructions exactly!

1) Reset to default
2) Set Max Speed to minimum (112mph)
3) Set Final gear to highest value (6.000)
4) Set the individual gears

THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!

5) Adjust your maximum speed using the final gear NOT the max speed.

On my car the final gear is set to 4.340 which gives me a maximum speed of 127

Hope the above helps 👍

Hey Argon, thanks, this does make sense but when you say adjust the MAX SPEED this is where I do not know how to do it.

Ah, wait, you are saying to adjust it by using the final gear, okay I will try that.

I have learned about all this as I have gone along but knew I must have been doing something wrong with the tunes.

Thanks again. I was thinking, oh everyone else will have finished this by now so no-one might answer!

2nd 2.369
3rd 1.901
4th 1.570
5th 1.332
6th 1.164

And to you Dynamix 👍 (I'd rather live where you are now :) )

If you want to send me a friend request [Argon56] I'll put my car on share for you.

That would be nice.

That would make three friends so far. :)

Got your FR and duly accepted but if you want to borrow my car you will need to send me a friend request from your PS3 :)

Okay, with everything set (I hope) properly I am still fourth and + 5.25

First time when you said put final gear to 6.000 max I did that, then the car was not turning over from 5th and sticking on 88mph.

Then I noticed your final at 4.340 so with this I get the result and I already got to just over 3 secs before so actually this was slightly worse.

Any further advice? I will try a few more times.

Getting better, 3rd now and 1.9 secs off the lead but had to decrease the MPH further still.

If the PP increases I have to change the power though can always buy another model and start with that from the latest and most succesful settings... I smell a gold in the air! :)

Dinamix
Well done basswerks. 👍

Is there an emoticon for jealousy?

Have you tried the tuning forum? I know that Clueless tunes and Motor City Tunes have cars made for this seasonal (maybe others but I'm not sure ). The tuners over there are very thorough in getting the best out of certain cars. Good luck 👍

Yes, sorry, if you read upstream in this thread you will see I am using one tune at the moment, I have a bronze now on Special Route and golds in the other four achieved without tuning so I guess I am not too bad at this. It is important for me to learn from others to improve.

If you have the gearbox set correctly then you should be pulling about 127ish before it hits the limiter which I normally do after drafting a car but as it's just before the brake zone I haven't increased the maximum speed on mine.

My car is on share so take it for a run and see if it helps. The set-up on mine is quite a bit different from the one posted earlier :)

EDIT: The PP rating will creep up as your car gets run in and this is quite normal. You shouldn't need to buy another car just reduce the engine output to bring it back to the PP limit

Okay, yes I was reducing the limiter to get the PP down. Though the nearest I have come is 1.9 secs behind and third. I will switch on the machine shortly, see if I can share your car. Apparently there is a new seasonal challenge loaded too.

Logged into the network and found your message but have no idea what to do in finding your car to share so will wait for instructions. :dunce:

When you are in your home page in GT5 you will see "Profile" up on the left side, click on that and a list will pop up with all your on-line friends. Find me in the list and click on my avatar this will then bring up my game details and any shared cars and drivers. Go to the Type R (blue) and click on it you will then be given an option to borrow the car.

You can do whatever you want with it, any changes you make to the set-up will not be saved so feel free to tweak it but try it as it is first. :)

Ah that's where it is, okay, will try it out later, thanks.

Thanks man.. Hang in there buddy I'm sure you'll crack this nut ! Add me if you want the Honda I used!

Oh I see, add you to PS network, okay but I have been trying out Argon's car and can only get about +6 secs whereas in my own which is 415bhp I have got it down to +1.9 still fourth but just behind third.

It may be that my driving is just not quite good enough of course but then if I am only 2 seconds off gold I really ought to be able to crack it.

If I can't then maybe another car, the EP ' 04 always wins the race but I can't see that to buy on the database.

I am really really starting to lose heart now and usually this is the one game apart from football where I won't have a meltdown. The best thing is to switch it off. I have got that new seasonal thing to try out yet though.

Don't give up my friend, you can do it. Take a break as you suggest and go back to it with a fresh start. Try Basswerks car if mine is not working for you :)

I really wouldn't go for the 04 though. I tried that one when the seasonal first came out and whilst it was good for a couple of the races but it was a mile off the pace for the Route 5 race. At least that was the case for me.
