A-Spec 415PP Honda Civic Competition

Flipped over to British series cause I couldn't get down Autumn mini atm, will try it again sometime.

i'm really struggling with this.. I've never been savvy with driving ff cars, keep trying to drive as i would in a rwd and it's just spitting me off with understeer.

I hate to ask but can anyone give me some tips for managing ff cars? I feel pathetic xd

no worries mate, you want to brake a bit earlier than you would in a rear drive vehicle, brake early pitch the car into the turn and accelerate through and out

Nice that worked. But I'm getting 1:07 & 1:08 laps on the ss5 race. Just when you think you learn the car you get stuck again! Lol

This one is doing my head in. I used 'Motor City Hami's' tune and things started to make sense (thank you). I managed to put together my best, most consistent effort with five laps @ 1:05.xx and it still wasn't enough. My hat is off to anyone who has found this one easy.

Glad that helped. SS5 is the hardest IMO. If you haven't already done this add some ballast at the front and add some of the HP increasing bolt-on mods to keep the PP at max. I think the best place to make up time is in the fast sweeping S-bends. Try to carry as much speed as you can through the turns but concentrate on the exit of the second turn each time. There is always a tendency to take an S-bend as two separate bends whereas you should treat them as one entity and aim to hit the apex of the second one perfectly. If you lose a bit of pace on the first turn you'll more than make it up by being able to get the power down earlier coming onto the straight.

Struggling with Autumn Ring mini. 10 secs off pace :ouch: Beat Tsukuba with half a car length to spare. Thought this would be fairly easy, glad it's not.
Using RKM's VTiRoj tune on the 97 RM car with final gear all the way up to drop top speed.
Thanks for the tips giant yak I'll try adapting my style. 👍
All the best everyone.

Hi,

I need to finish this I guess before it ends. Your post made me turn the game on. I have gold in Tsukuba, Autumn Ring Mini and Trial Mountain but only 4th in SR5 and 3rd in the last one.

In SR5 I am 3secs behind 3rd place and 16secs behind the EP '04!!

Using the R '08 for this but as you know the EP '04 wins all the time and I don't see any place to get one (do you know?).

I'm going to try it in my fluorescent pink EK RM. I'll report back soon. :)

EDIT: I never want to use an FF car ever again.

Maybe I am in the minority, but dont use RM models against road cars, even if the regulations allow them. I found the 'heavy ballast, high hp' style tunes didnt work well at SSR5. Try a type -r 08 with weight reduction, sports filter and racing exhaust. Use the adj gearbox and all the max. drivetrain upgrades. The uphill exits of the slower turns and low grip level of SSR5 & CS tyres make the lighter, less powerful style of tune gets the best results here for me. Also, I believe the relatively long wheelbase of the 08' type-r (compared to the rest of the field) offers the benefit of stability and controllablity thru the winding, fast sections.

It's a little late, but here's a video of CSS 5 reverse done at 405pp with no aids and no ABS. With SRF on, ABS on and less patience with the AI, this could be done below 390pp I reckon.

If you use this tune and just up the power to make 415pp, and with SRF on, anyone struggling with this event may find this helpful. Try and watch the apex speeds in the video and how the tune tugs the car round a corner under acceleration.

Thank you so much for your post, it helped me finally win this race. I was running 1:08s with my '98 hatchback. Tried your setup and after about 20 tries I was running low 1:04s and finally won. The AI seemed to get faster as I got faster, weird. The only difference between our setups is I got the window weight reduction to lower center of gravity as someone here suggested, and then put a 10kg ballast at the front to get back to 1270kg. Thanks again, now I just have to finish mini and eiffel.

I too found CSR5 challenging, but finally cracked it with the '08 Civic.
Moving ballast all the way aft was the best tuning trick for me to make the breakthrough.

Respectfully,
Steve

Finally won it by 1.8 sec! I had to use the phone trick on the first corner though :-(.

Removed the diff mod, add ballast to the front as been written, and watched LH's smooth driving as my inspiration!

Now on to Autumn Ring...

I am struggling mighty with the special stage route 5. So far, 4th is my best finish:( Any suggestions? *add me on psn- my i.d. is spencer0812

Man I wish I could help you bud, Ive managed to squeak out a very close second but have gotten no closer. I'll add you on PSN and put the car I used up for you to borrow to see how you can do with it. Good luck man.

Thanks, dude!! as of yesterday, i managed to finish 3rd:)

I thought the first time through was going to be the toughest, but even having done it once and now cleaning it up with my other accounts it's still as tough as the first time through. This was a real ball scrambling finish, sitting third coming into the last right hander under the overpass.

So I finally aced the Brits so its back in the Civ for the Mini. Anything under 46sec is alluding me in my '08.

Thanks man, so true....and yep, now I just got to try and crack the 'Ring in the Lamborghini seasonal. I'm a pretty decent driver, but can't crack that walnut!!

I did this in a '97 Honda civic(EK), fully tuned and then engine restricted down to 400PP. Was much easier than I thought actually.

Do you have a tune? Been looking for one with this but everyone else seems to favor the type r 08.
