I am amazed how fast some of the SUV's are this game. The R8 is nice, the first time I used it and probably would have been more fun with the downforce all the way down. The HSC is such a good car, 212 mph on the long straight. SFR off, abs 1 only.

Those SUV and their ridiculous superiority is one of the worst thing in GT...There`s nothing new about it though...It was the same in GT5 also...One of my friends found it out, and won tonnes of online races with some of those...Pontiac Vibe also one of.. Insane...Some PD computers were fed with a little too few, or little too false parameters, or both...Guess no human brains were involved in grading the GT cars...Good achievement by the way whoosier, no doubt.

This is so true drive slow people! It just worked for me and I won by 2.5 seconds over the Aston Martin One-77, I passed him after the corner immediately after the longest straight away and I white knuckled the remaining track. Used the GT-R 2012 black edition, great car, dumb race, it took me a stupid number of tries and the only reason I won is because I drove slow. It doesn't make much sense to me either but it works so give it a try if you too are having troubles!

Penalised for being too quick - whodathunkit! Glad someone did - I'll be doing the slow start tonight. The best I've managed so far is 5th.

uhmmm i think it worked because by going slow you can make less mistakes and less crashes? im not sure though. i think the nurberging is a track that rewards you for being consistent and not fast

Crazy SUV times from @WhoosierGirl 👍

EDIT; That HSC race time would equate to a low 6'43 lap time :crazy::crazy:

On a side note, I am curious to see what times the super-fast people here (@Stotty and @WhoosierGirl, to name two) can get with this tune:

I'd love to see how insane it was, if you guys were interested. (Unless you already posted times with the GT-R and I just missed it.)

Just ran a 6'46.929 lap time in the GT-R Black Edition (7'45.300 elapsed time)... no SRF, ABS1. A few bits of minor contact when the AI turned in on me, but otherwise pretty clean race.

Tune (another quick and dirty!) for anyone that would like to try it...

NISSAN GT-R Black Edition '12 (new car from dealers, no oil change, no chassis strengthening)
Ride height 130 80
Spring 13.00 6.00
Bound 1 3
Rebound 1 3
ARB 5 5
Camber 0 0
Toe 0.00 0.00
Brakes (racing) 5 5
Gears (set final to 4.000, then set max speed to minimum, then set gears as below)
1st 3.285
2nd 2.435
3rd 1.925
4th 1.606
5th 1.366
6th 1.186
Final 2.500
Diff F 5 30 5
Diff R 5 35 5
Torque 30 70
Weight reduction stage 3
Power limited to 84.1%

Should be 478bhp, 1,401kg, 550ppts

It's quite edgy compared to the stock car with the rake, so needs smooth steering and brake inputs or it will over rotate. If the rear is too unstable on direction changes and/or turn in, reduce front ride height in 5mm increments until you find a balance you like :)

Gotta try one of these Ferrari's tonight - I finished 4th last night after making changes to the FD but I'm convinced it's me and not the car...that said, an FD with just an intake and the stage 3 turbo kit has a MUCH nicer power-band than a selection of other mods to hit the 550PP limit.

:)

You need to try that car 6,30's are easy with a real setup, that was first lap with it and just basic no camber or toe and dampers/bars at 333, really amazing car.

I think you asked for the bumper view a few days ago, this is the R8 first lap, messed up on the transmission and never used 6th but I think this is a good fast safe car.

Stotty made me want to try a GT-R. Stock GT-R Black edition '12 with oil and power at 97.7% is 550pp with 556 hp. Stotty has 478 hp.

More stable than Ferraris and easier to control. Indeed, a fast car.

I'll give it a go 👍

Sweet lap in the R8... clean as a whistle :)

I tested 3 cars so far with the DS3, automatic transmission and ABS 1 as only aid.

Lexus LFA '10: 6:50,7xx
TK ZZII: 6:48,8xx
Shelby Series One: 6:49,1xx

Ridiculous times with a DS3 and auto

Hello gt6 racers me new here, 1st post in the forum. I been missing with this race for 3 days off and on. I won this race with tommy zz-s '00 car. - I drafted on the long straight and was able to pass the Aston martin car one 77, tommy zz11 '00, and the srt viper srt10, Man I been through 12 cars in this race. Be for I took gold. I went on line to see if others had a hard time like me to, and found gtplanet today what a cool place.

@WhoosierGirl Thank you for posting that lap with the Audi in Bumper Cam view. Since that's the view I use when I'm driving, it really helps to see your lap in that view, so I can compare driving line/turn-in points, breaking points, etc. You guys blow my mind with your sub-7m laps. And the laps that are 6m45s'ish are just perplexing to me.

If anyone were able to provide a Bumper Cam view of an entire lap when doing a 6m45s'ish laptime, that would be fantastic. I just want to see how you're turning in and able to carry such speed through the bends & corners. When I drive, I feel like I'm pushing the car to the limit, quite often, but apparently I'm not even coming close based on my lap times versus your lap times...

Nice lap with the GT-R @Stotty !

Finaly got a new computer and fixed my HDPVR problem, heres my lap with the 458 (6:44.286), not that clean but ill try to run more this weekend if i find some time! :)

Easy on the auto! lol

Sorry to bother you oh wise whoosier but were these specifically tuned or was it just upgraded

I just bought them and added upgrades and removed camber and toe settings, changed the transmission and if they were 4wd I dropped the rear all the way downand front way up, 40/60 split and 5/30/5 lsd's. If it is a light RWD I drop the rear 10 less than front and make suspension all 3's and LSD 12/10/14, heavy RWD I use 3,4,6 for the suspension. I rarely touch the springs unless I am doing a TT then I change everything, :)

I downloaded the wrong replay but, it is still a 46 with a couple bad corners, hope it helps.

I tried this three times so far with three different cars and haven't got it yet.

1st Attempt: '84 Ferrari 288 GTO -- 3rd place.
2nd Attempt: '13 Chevrolet Corvette Gran Turismo Concept -- 5th place.
3rd Attempt: Audi R8 5.2 Quattro Chrome Line -- 2nd place.

Here is the tune that I used for my GT-R Black Edition.

...
Power Limiter: 82.5%
Intake Tuning

Weight Reduction: Stage 3
Carbon Hood
Window Weight Reduction

This should leave you at a weight of 1,386kg with a 52 : 48 weight distribution.
HP = 473hp
Torque = 495lb/ft
I have a GT-R Black, but mine (returned to stock) has more PP than it does in the dealership. Further, if I do the weight reduction above (which matches 1386kg) I have to drop the H.P. to 391 to make 550 PP. Even without reducing the weight my H.P. is 459 - 14 less than yours WITH weight reduction. Of course I'm like 45 seconds behind in 9th place with 391 H.P.

Anyone know what the heck is up with that?

You did an oil change at some point, it increases hp and pp.

To @WhoosierGirl and @mike_gt3, holy sh#t great laps

Okay nice driving, especially the drifting skills.

However, if I had a car that would accelerate as fast as yours (and go 175-190 on many short straights and 207 on the long back straight) I could easily win this, but nothing I try, including many tunes and cars suggested in this thread DO NOT achieve that kind of performance. Top speed at best is 185 and for that only on the back straight and it's painfully slow getting there! To get that kind of performance I'd need to have 650 PP on my version of the game.

Are you using ASM or Traction control? Both are top speed killers. I just used the HSC myself and it does go over 200mph on the long straight, admittedly I'm still 10+ seconds off her pace but she's a top 10 capable driver and I'm top 500 at best.

No aids except antilock on 3.

It's the lack of horsepower. I tried a GT-R Black tune and I have to drop to 391 H.P. to maintain 550 PP while the poster has 473 H.P. with his tune. Lacking 82 horsepower is my problem!
