Stotty.
MP4-12 works with the DS3 too... tried it last night (1 lap) without SRF and ran a 6'57.xxx.

Main difference for me between DS3 and G27 is it's so much harder to place the car accurately with the DS3. Making clean passes where you need to just slip by at high speed with 2 wheels on the grass is much more difficult and typically results in enough contact to slow me down.

~~~
I only ever use the DS3, but it is a very quick car. Love this track and know it pretty well too, maybe one day there will be a race here where the MP4 is the best car and you'll post a even better tune. Cheers.
I thought you use a wheel Dalone, I use a G27 and it is very good to drive and the handling is very good.
The easiest front line-up I have seen so far is.....
  • McLaren Mercedes SLR '09
  • SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition '13
  • Mercedes SLS AMG '10
I think I got lucky when I was given those three after a failed attempt in the Aventador against a Ford GT due to some sloppiness.
I backed out and then re-entered for another go but was not expecting to get such a weak front three cars and I was able to take the lead shortly after the Karussell.
As long as there are no Zondas, ZZIIs, Ford GTs, Viper ACRs, or Corvette ZR1s in your line-up there should be no problem winning..haha. :lol:
For me, the rear is nailed, but I'd like a bit more rotation... which I could have got easily by simply adding more rake... but this would likely make the car harder to drive for less skilled drivers and DS3 users. In this case, I posted something that I thought would be usable by the majority, and those struggling with getting gold.
I'm pretty sure the MP12 would run close to a 7'3X with the right tune and the right line up (and the right driver!) :)
Stock MP4-12C is fun! Turned power down to 73.2%. No aids but abs 1. Nice drive.
That is my take on the line-ups! Any line-up with Tommy Kaira ZZ is the hard one. Don’t know about any others.
Try the MP4-12 tune I posted on the previous page... it's easy to drive and very fast 👍
Cheers I'll give that a go. I finally managed to get gold in the NSX with a 7:09.179 but I'll try try the MP4-12C to see if I can improve my time.
.
In this clip i was wondering "do you use brakes?" maybe a little, but i can't notice in a lot of corners.
As little brakes as possible, the fun in these seasonals for me is just trying to keep the speed up by either sliding through the corners or catching the curb with the inside of the tire to turn the car. Not worrying about a red lap in a TT and just going all out is really fun and I love the Ring.
When I added @Stotty and followed his blue line I could see that I would lose time under braking to him in a TT.
I downloaded a replay from @eclipsee and could see in the datalogger how much less the fastest drivers are on the brakes than I am.
Only real advice I can give anyone is use a loose but good handling car (like the Miura) to learn car control and trust that you don't need as much brake to make a corner as you think.
One more car from last night..Daihatsu storia x4 ABS 1 only.
Tune please :bowdown:
If I remember correctly it was based on a tune made by @GTP_CargoRatt for the Peugeot non racing car seasonal in April. Couldn't make the link used in the Peugeot seasonal thread work so here it is:
Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 '85
Suspension:
110/100
4.93/7.40
3/3
4/4
7/4
0.0/0.0
-0.20/-0.10
Brakes: 3/4
LSD:
30/40
21/50
9/5
Torque distr: 50/50
Downforce: 0/20
Buy all the tuning parts available for max power and weight loss. Then set transmission max speed to 300 km/h.
Also has Custom wing type C (mount E/wing C/winglet A/width +13) and wheels +1 inch.
TC1 and ABS1, nothing else.
In my opinion the car is insanely fast in corners. No competition from anything the AI drives. Max speed 300 is there only because I can't quite catch the rabbits before the long straight in the end. This speed allows me to draft them (or at least they won't get too far ahead) so I can pass them in the final corners.
Always been a fan of Cargo's tunes, they seem to suit my driving style quite well using DS3. Someone with more skill in tuning than me could easily make a much more faster 205 for this track, this was just my lucky try this time around with London settings.
Edit. Link not working, at least on my cell. Will fix it later.
Edit2. Link removed, stats listed.
You are correct you do not need that much brake to make the corner!!!
@Whoosie Keep those replays coming. Seriously entertaining to watch. Even a slow-mo pirouette to keep us interested in what happens next.
You're like the Tiff Needell of GTPlanet. A hooligan in a car.👍
How embarrassing :embarrassed::dunce::embarrassed::dunce::embarrassed::dunce::embarrassed::dunce::embarrassed:
An hour ago I went to try another car, and whilst checking traction control was off, I notice SRF was on... no idea how as I've not used it in any events, so assume it must be on as default? Obviously the lap I posted above is fake as SRF must have been on.
So firstly, apologies for the misleading post!
Given the embarrassment factor, I thought I'd have another go at it, this time without kiddie physics, but with a bit of tuning.
Rabbit was the Tommy Karia ZZ, but even with me trying to run the race as clean as possible (no ramming, no flying up the inside... well, maybe just once or twice), it stood no against the MP4... the car is just crazy fast and sticks to the track like glue :lol:
Lap time; 6'47.302, with a total elapsed time of 7'46.050.
Here's the tune (this is a quick and dirty - nowhere near optimised)
McLaren MP4-12C '10 (new car from dealers, no oil change, no chassis strengthening)
Ride 100 80
Spring 7.50 13.00
Bound 2 4
Rebound 3 5
ARB 5 7
Camber 0 0
Toe -0.10 0.00
Brakes (racing) 5 7
Gears (set max speed to min 1st)
1st 4.413
2nd 3.312
3rd 2.700
4th 2.249
5th 1.936
6th 1.676
7th 1.491
Final 2.237
Diff 5 30 5
Power limiter 77.8%
Custom rear wing @ 100
No weight reduction
Should be 467bhp, 1,350kg, 550ppts
Relieved I managed to beat the previous SRF lap ;)
Sorry, I am not familiar with tuning the gear ratio. I have set the max speed to minimum (as far left as it goes) then have tuned each gear as according to your tune. Do I leave the Max speed at the minimum even after tuning the gears? If I try to change the max speed it messes the gear ratio.
Completed this challenging event with a Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit. Lap time of 7:18.913 without use of driver aids (except ABS 1). I will say that the AI drivers blocking your path and slowing you down pose the biggest problem (as well as frustration), for this track. I'll be trying this event again with a few other cars to gain some more credits...
Thanks for this tune. Used it twice. Best I could do was 2nd only because I spun twice. Was 7 ticks behind first. The second race , the two AI cars were just waaaaay too far for some unknown reason. I'll try it again when I have the time.
Finally made it after numerous tries and cars with the BMW and @EmaNymton's tune . Messed up the gearbox tune a bit but still worked fine against the two rabbits ( SLR Mac Laren and Viper GTS ) . Passed them at Stefan-Bellof-S around Km 18 . Lap at 7.11 and 2.6 sec ahead .
Will now have a go with @Stotty's MP4-12 tune to see if I can beat my time .
I'll bet you will beat your time with the MP4, Guy.
No mate, bought a s/hand wheel a while ago (last year I think) but couldn't get it to drive in a straight line, I gave it away almost immediately although the boys persevered for a while with it. It's been back in it's box for a long time now.
I'm happy with the pure convenience of the DS3.
Managed to get 1st after a few tries with Stotty's Tune for the McLaren MP4-12C! Thanks buddy! Got the hardest race out of the way, the other 2 should be a breeze after that race lol :P
I said I was going to quit, but I came back for another 2 hours tonight. Still couldn't get it done, 2nd place @ 7:15 with Nissan VGT 2020. I think I need the slowest line-up to win this event, those ZIIs, Zondas, C6s, Vipers, Ford GTs are crazy fast.
I was in the same boat...it took a 7:08 for me to win...spent about 4 hrs with gtr BE.
