You can do 20 laps easy on the soft tires. 20 laps isn't much on this short course. But we have to use Hard tires for at least one lap? Where did I miss that in the regulations? bleh.

What is the penalty for not using Hards? 1 minute?
Yes exactly that.

Seems like no stop on the hards is the one (or was in my race), top three did that - I was the top stopper in 4th.
Fun race, it's a bit like brands hatch. Qualified 11th, did much better in the race & was helped by a couple of 1min penalties ahead!

1st (and technically last) in my area - woohoo!

Man i‘m pissed. All started well in Manufacturer Race 2. Qualified P4 an progressed in the race to P2.
Then I met a quite nice rammer, when I overtook him on the straight he gave me 3 warning hits while we were side by side.
When I did not get the hint he Pit-Maneuvered me when I was past. I completely lost my temper an my rythm and finished last.

In the second slot I qualified P2 of 4 after 5min BlackScreen. On lap 14 of the race the game crashed with a Screen-Freeze.
At that time I was on my way to a comfortable win…

PD can keep the rest of the slots today…

GT3 C/S Q P1 on RS switched to RH for the race and got punted by entire field who stayed on RS finished P7 adjusted to P3 for 30 points which elevated me to B/S. Wasn’t happy so went for the second slot, Q P3 on RS went out on RH lead 2 cars dropped me but I stayed ahead of the pack, one lead car crashed and a pack car over took me and caught the leader so no change, then 2 laps to go the crashed out car caught back up and after an aborted over take i conceded the position to avoid an incident. Now being new to the B rank I just assumed these guys were fast on RH tyres but we cross the line me in P4 and I’m immediately promoted to P1 for my first ever GT7 sport mode victory! Get in there Lewis!

So after missing last weekends season openers I'm jumping in here and I much prefer this weekends combinations anyway.

I do like and know the main road circuit for this track well so it's a little disappointing I couldn't find a better pace here, starting in 10th for the race after I just couldn't really put it together in qualy.

Jumped on a Nissan from the start and got down the inside going into turn 1 where he just turned in like there was nothing different about it, sometimes these moments have me feeling like I'm in that scene from Fargo where the cop lady can't get the automatic doors to open, am I really here? Can't you see me?

It was fairly harmless contact in the end and I moved ahead, afterwards just being quite surprised how many people were messing up this pretty straightforward track. I can understand heading into the final turn as you're uphill and off balance but most cars I passed were spinning out in the first sector.

I did find myself up in 3rd at one point after passing a WRX who was all over the place, quick but looked like he was hanging on for dear life on every turn, fair play he got back past me and went on to finish 2nd. Around lap 14 the cars who had slipped up earlier had got back on it and were catching me, though only a couple could get close enough to pass so I took home a decent 6th position that I'm happy with given the starting position and relative pace here.

Nice to see 3 championship races over 3 nights for the bank holiday, I'm sure it's a pain for some unfortunately but perfect for me as I'm off work and house bound in recovery still for a good while yet, gives me plenty to do, cheers GT!

Ops............I did it again ! 1st Place :gtpflag:

Amazing race (starting 7th), great 3 way battle for the victory against a frenchman and a swissman, as we survived the initial crashes in the first 2 laps; the spaniard who made pole tried the pitstop strategy, but fell short and finished 4th; My 155 did not dissapoint :D

(For your more specific information it was a A/S race, 211 points collected)

Well that was chaotic.

15 minutes of scenic views before Qualifying was allowed to happen - nine drivers quit (probably including the guy with the mince connection causing the delay), so only seven in Q.

One didn't even leave the pits, I managed third behind a WRX and an Evo.

Evo screwed up his T1 exit on lap two, managed a nice over-under pass into the next hard left...

... and then he drove into the side of me three times and crashed it into the wall 🤷‍♂️ I was literally as far left as I could be and he just... drove into me. Then again. Then again, and ate the wall on the right, assisted by the Scirocco behind.

Then 17 pretty solid laps of low-to-mid 57s as the tyres wandered away - the Scirocco could close up massively into the final corner but lost the same amount of time everywhere else, until he stacked it with two to go. Couldn't catch the WRX.

Unfortunately the WRX pitted on lap 19, as did I and the Scirocco, only for a no-stopper on hards to get between us somehow.

Finished about 10s behind in second...

... except the WRX screwed up his pitstop - either took more softs or (more likely) button-bashed "Do Not Change", got the minute penalty and literally gifted me the win.

I'll take it.

Edit: Apparently worth 122 points (GT2, B/S).

I had a similar encounter too with someone reluctant to let me by and was hit the side off me. They just can’t take it when they are beaten. In the end I lifted off and in then pressured them into a mistake and I just sailed by.

I had a decent race,
Quali was terrible for me. For the first 5 minutes I just couldn’t stick a lap in due to others blocking or me spinning. Last two minutes I managed to stick a banker lap in and then my last lap I made a few small mistakes that cost me about a second. P10.
Went for hards as my average lap time was a 57.5 on hards so I knew I had good race pace. Stayed out of trouble until I caught the car in P4. This is when they raced dirty and started to hit me when I was side by side. In the end I forced them into a mistake and waved them goodbye as I passed. Got my way up to P3 by lap 12 and then the car behind out of now where was closing in on lap 16. I assumed they was on softs as they were quick and I was too complacent and taking it easy not to spin. Last lap at T1 I didn’t really defend the corner as I assumed we would crash, and it turned out too they were on hards so I finished P4. Picked up 61 points in GT2 class and not rerun as it’s not worth the extra 2 points for 3rd.

Nations Cup tomorrow and I’m struggling for lap time. Love Gr2 cars but looks like it’s going to NSX for every car.

really happy with those late slot times! Had an evening shift but was well in time for the 23.00 hrs slot.

Qualified on pole as i had hoped and my strategy was to go on softs and try to get enough distance.
Start went okay, an English driver in a Lexus managed to stay close behind me the first few laps but I managed to slowly get more space. All went fine, only issue was with some of the lapped cars; they stayed on the racing line blocking my view of the braking points, which caused some delay.

Lap 19 I pitted for hard tyres, and so did the Lexus behind me. We had an sufficient gap to the others and we finished first and second. Most other drivers were starting on the hard tyres, but as i had hoped, they started battling each other causing a conciderable timeloss for them....

Raced last night 20 laps on hards. Only one person ran softs for 18 and hards for 2 - they came second. However the statistics are broken this morning when I tried to drill down by Manufacturer etc - nothing works.

last manufacturer’s race: game dropped 7 minutes into qualifying

this week: didn’t buy soft tires for the Free Car*, everyone else did, can’t set a fast qualifier time. If you qualify last, your first lap is 10-15 seconds slower than the fastest first lap, on top of the distance start lol

Ehh, was OK I guess. Q'd kind of lousy in 12th. Worked up to 7th by race end. Couple of positions gifted by people crashing off. I didn't notice anyone pitting, everyone did zero stop on hards.

Really fun combo to be honest. Picked Jaguar, first race I quali'd 9th, - climbed up to the top 5 but finished 10th as someone decided to go full missile into turn 1 and wiped about 3 people out.

Second time I quali'd 9th again with a 56.0, and climbed to 3rd by about half way through. 2nd then crashed, putting me up a place. Then 1st crashed in the same spot, putting me in the lead until about lap 18. Then I crashed. Also in the same spot. Finished 5th. Happy enough with that for an A+ lobby, 220 points.

Switched to my US alt with Hyundai, did a 56.3 - which now put me in pole. Race was just a stroll to the end, didn't fight a soul. Crashed out in the same spot as the last race (lol), did a 360, ended up in the wall, still won by 5 seconds.

Someone stormed past when I spun but they were on softs and finished around 7th after pitting.

Region differences are weird.

Could've won the race tonight, but I raced 18 laps on soft tires. Qualified P2 with the Corvette (0.044 off P1), lead the race until lap 18, and finished P2 with the fastest lap. Not a bad night I guess, but could've been better.

Both times this combo came up in GTS, it ended up being a race that didn't count towards my final score, so I was expecting a decent "banker" result, but nothing impressive.

Slot 1: I set a qualifying time of 56.082 which surprisngly was good enough for not only 5th place, but also best among the non-AWD cars. Pole was a GT-R, then 3 WRXs, then me, then a Supra. At the start, I immediately opened up over a 1s gap to the Supra behind thanks to its turbo lag, and the WRX directly ahead ran wide at T4, allowing me past into 4th, before he then got the final braking zone wrong and spun. The 3rd place WRX then had a few sloppy laps and held me up and allowed the Supra to close back in. The Supra then ran wide at T1 and allowed me some breathing room as it dropped back a few spots. Meanwhile the WRX that had been holding me up finally found some rhythm and slowly pulled away from me. And that was pretty much the end of the excitement in my race. From there I held on to 4th place despite the Supra behind me finally getting back up to 5th place and slowly reeling me in. That meant I also finished as best among the non-AWD cars, with the podium being the polesitting GT-R, then the 2 WRXs who also finished where they started. 267 points is definitely more than I was expecting, and definitely good enough to not bother with going again.

2022 GTWS Season 1 - Round 2
Sardegna C // Group 4 // Jaguar

Slot 1
- Had the pleasure of racing with @GTWolverine once again. This time he had the goods on me as I was only capable of a paultry 56.4xx qualifying. I got a case of the ips or something, just could not put a lap together to save my life. Qualified in 14th which meant starting on the wrong side of the chicane. Within the first two laps i picked up a couple spots. One came as the WRX in front went wide and one due to a mistake in the ToTF. As the race went on, I noticed I wasn't putting down the lap times that I had been in practice races. Frustrating. However, managed a few more Greddy Passes and managed a clean mistake free race to pull my finish up to a p8. 219 points. On to the next one.

1st race with the Aston Martin, I didnt know you could use softs so after quali I started from the back. After some crashes by others and a bunch that raced with softs and had to pit, I came up finished a lonely 6th.

2nd race. I bought some softs and qualified 4th. Only 1st and me were racing with the softs so I pass 2nd and 3rd on turn 1 lap 2/3. After lap 4, 1st made a few mistakes in a row and I took the lead. Then started to build a gap.
I knew I had to pit but didnt know how much of a gap was needed but was pretty consistent doing high 56s. Pitted lap 19 with a gap around 14+
Came out the pits right behind 2nd after turn 1 and finished 3rd. Still mostly a lonely race but ill take the 199 pts

I didn't want to run the META cars everyone is using, and I know the MR cars are currently a no-go, so I decided to sign again for Jaguar, as in my last FIA seasons in GTS. GTWS Manufacturers Cup debut for me. Gr4 F-type definitely seems to have lost some power compared to the GTS BoP, was struggling a bit in the straights without slipstream.

Americas Slot 1 was kind of a practice race for me, since I just signed for the manufacturer 20 mins before the race and hadn't driven the hard tyres at all beforehand. Qualifying was poor, not helped by a car with 1-bar connection who was warping all over the track during the whole qualy. He was appearing sideways in the middle of the track, making barrier crash sounds... it was incredibly distracting. Race pace was pretty good, could have finished in the top 5 if not for a mistake. Ended up 9th with 182 points, decided to go again.

Americas Slot 2 was one of the filthiest lobbies I had been part of. I was punted twice and pushed wide several times, losing positions to gaggle of cars... Race was so chaotic that despite losing loads of time, I ended up still making it back to 9th again at the finish. 184 points, decided to go again, definitely could do better.

Americas Slot 3, 279-point lobby. Qualified P8 on a 56.3. Got up to 6th as a few drivers made mistakes. On lap 5, I was then passed by a Brazilian who seemed to be on softs, down to 7th. That overtake caused me to lose the slipstream to the guys ahead.

Was managing the gap behind with no issues until lap 14, when the American ahead in a Corvette started making a couple of mistakes and then defending, which brought another Corvette, a Mexican, into the battle. On lap 17, this Mexican gave me a punt under braking for the tricky left-hander (turn 4?) and even though I initially managed to keep it on the track, he then continued to push me wide on the exit. The definition of push to pass. When I told him off for that at the end, he said he had been pushed into me by another car. But when I watched the replay, not only the car behind him was like 2 secs behind... but he went on the throttle after hitting me to push me wide deliberately. So, a dirty driver and a lier, great... :banghead: Luckily, I somehow managed to avoid losing control or hitting the barriers, so I didn't lose more positions.

Gained one from the Brazilian on softs pitting on the penultimate lap. Couldn't do anything about the Mexican as he had the slipstream of the American ahead, so they finished 5th and 6th, right ahead of me. P7 for me at the end, 209 points. Decided to call it a day.

Considering the Jag didn't seem too competitive here, have to take some positives from knowing I could have finished 5th, which would have been best of the Gr4.5 class (top 4 were 4WD), and scoring over 200 points. But still, frustrating to lose position that way...

So first (and penultimate due to real life getting in the way) race this series, I've picked Jag simply because the 1.15 update has DESTROYED some MR cars out of slow corners, and while I'm still struggling with the reduction in FFB since 1.16 I've had a week to try and get used to it

Entered the first slot, just didn't feel like I could hook it up in qualy, and qualified 9th. Race started though and it was clear straight away that race pace was there. Made up a couple of positions early on including a nice move having a run on a Supra and going around the outside of T4. Then on around L5 an Atenza runs wide in the final turn, I get a run but didn't have the speed to really go for a move, into the braking zone and a bit of lag led to a strange and almost clumsy collision where contact was slight but he seemed to go flying! An Evo decided it was the time to launch up the inside and sent me into the same gravel as the Atenza, recovered onto the track down in 11th. Started to ease away from the cars behind then a yellow flag out of T4, a recovering WRX... unghosted through the esses just as I was about to pass. This clearly wasn't a normal OP WRX driver though and I was all over the back of him for about five laps before a poor exit from the final corner gave me enough of a run to get half a car up the inside into T1 and I wasn't being out braked. A crashed Toyota and pitting Evo promoted me a couple more places and with clean air for the final few laps I was reeling in 6th place at a serious rate of knots but the gap was too big. 7th for 261pts

Good race pace and the fact I can't really do much this series anyway made me think I'd go for the final slot and see if I could gatecrash top split, which I did!

Better qualifying than the first race, drove a lot better but just enough for Q11. Race started, Kelicful in the sister Jag started 10th and pitted on L1 for a run on softs and I was able to maintain a gap of just over 1s to Pepi behind until he made a mistake early on, got overtaken and from there I had a pretty boring race! No carnage ahead, no mistakes from me, but while my pace was good I didn't quite have the pace to close up, so finished 9th for 259pts

Took the GTR into the Nations Cup. Oceania 2nd split I think. All A+ Except for 3 A.

I was half a second off my best in qualifying and started p6. Decided to start on softs and see what happens. Lap 1 was amazingly smooth and well behaved but it became clear quickly that the NSX in front was running mediums. Turn 1 lap 2 and p2,3 and 4 came together at the apex. P5, me and p6 all got by them in the run to turn 2. I then spent 2 laps trying to find a way past the medium shod NSX before he got a bad run out of the final turn and I was able to get him through turn 1. Now p2 and 8.5 seconds behind p1, I proceeded to pull away from p3 and by the end of lap 6 had a 3 second gap.

Tyre wear was noticeable but not brutal so I eased up a touch and went for a no stop. With 4 laps to go I was within 5 seconds of first and 5 seconds in front of 3rd.

Despite consistently taking chunks out of the lead I was just too far behind and crossed the line 2nd 2.5 seconds behind the winner.

244 points and one and done. Take that all you Honda sheep :D

Good combo, really enjoyable.
