Before I make a comment, be aware that I have not ever been to the movies or watched a movie for years, until i saw batman. I did not see Batman Begins, nor any previous Batman movies. All I can say is that I only saw Christian Bale in Equilibrium. and seeing him again in another movie, it makes sense to me that he is a good character for a hero.
I wouldn't expect Batman to drive anything-- besides the batmobile-- but a Murcielago (bat).
I honestly thought the Tumbler was a dumb idea. Although i seen a picture that outlines a resemblance of a bat, the swamper tires just killed it to me, that includes the bike he breaks from spontaneously sliding out around Joker.
A True Batmobile to me should look sleek, and quick, not fercious and indestrucible, like come on; what kind of vehicle of that mass can fly into a patking lot above ground level, and smash through concrete without at least a dent on at least one armor plate?
Before I saw the film, I watched the trailer where he drove a LP640 around, I thought that was the new batmobile (remember I said i didn't watch previous batman movies), I thought the tumbler was destroyed in the last movie or something. Out of all cars, why a murcielago? and why only like 10 minutes of it?
Personally, I think what would've made a better cruising car would've been the Reventon. Why? One it looks more hype, more fictional, looks more like a bat at the least. The cockpit is made to be like the cockpit of a jet; something that flies, like a bat.
I absolutely loved how the Joker felt like such a real character it was scary. He's probably the most realistic characters in the film.
Before I read all the reviews by you GTPer's, I too felt Joker dominated this film; in turn I felt Joker owned Batman.
I also feel like the Joker was a little bit too all-knowing and ingenious. He seemed to know what would happen every time every where, except for the scene where he's trying to get the people to blow up the ferry that's opposite them. It didn't feel fair that the Joker showed zero weakness. I understood that he was supposed to be the polar opposite of Batman while still being the same person, but Batman has his strengths and weaknesses. The Joker is just a crazy son of bitch. As i said before though, I loved how real he was.
Although you may be right about Joker getting the handicap here, Its that factor that made me love this film, I love movies where a thing/ or a being that is all knowing, controls a civilization (not through legal power, but by his/her own ways), has situations planned out from beginning to end as if they know that one will do this or that, even though I think it was made up on the spot. Like the part where the random firetruck on fire (a truck on fire, is called a firetuck
) forced the line of police cars to divert into that underground tunnel, and then Joker and his men were down there waiting for them. I saw it coming, I was thinking, why didn't they just drive onto the other side on of the road, they are the police afterall , they can do that. Plus there were no traffic on the otherside anyway.
Ledger was possibly one of the best actors i've seen in my life (again i was not a movie person at the time). His actions felt like what a real psycho would do, not something overly-exaggerated, something realistic, he spoke with a seemingly normal attitude; someone who kills but isn't angry about it, a true psycho.
Thanks to him, I've become a more movie person, I saw Eagle Eye on my birthday, felt that was sick too.
Batman survived the fall at the end, but Dent did not? I don't know if Batman's armor would really protect him from a fall. Seems a little far fetched
i agree that was unrealistic, Batman must been more tired out than Dent, Dent's body was in mint condition anyway (body, not face), he got up like he wasnt tired at all, falls off the building without a scream, armor never protects from impact, only projectiles and weapons.
So batman took all the blame for the havoc Dent has caused on his own, yes I know so the city's moral will not decline this way. But now, wouldn't Batman be considered a villian to the citizens of Gotham now?
