yes, good point, their hands are tied by certain issues like this. i wonder what will happen to career events when new tracks appear? will the new stuff have its own separate career events? they can't really put them into existing championships as not everyone will be able to download them thus being unfair.
This is always the question of DLC tracks. Unless they are implemented in a creative way they can be considered useless. Unless they are integrated into the Career Mode they will be practically meaningless to me.

Well, there are some "coming soon" placeholders in the career overview so it is very likely that DLC's will be integrated into the career. In pcars, the integration of additional content should be easy because of the design of the career itself.

the dlc i'm more interested in is the classic one with old monza, spa... and old cars. Off course is not that easy to integrate it into a modern career path going from kart to le mans.

I hope they integrate it in the career as invitational classic events.. you are a good driver, you are invited to this classic events cause i don't really like the stand alone logic of a classic championship.

For the other dlc tracks i hope there will be the option to select the tracks list for the championships in the career mode. For ex if they add Sepang i would like to be able to select it for my gt3 career instead of another track already present.

Does anyone know what the bottom level career path may be? It was shown as "coming soon" in the official career mode showcase, but I have no idea as to what it may exactly be. My best guess is a NASCAR path or maybe something to do with the supercars.
Picture:
sorry if already asked, but the movement in the career mode are only horizontal or also vertical during the year? fo ex i can start with karts and move from superkart to touring?

another quick question I don't remember seeing, are contract offers always upwards or sideways moves? Might it be the case that you are a bit terrible and only get offers from a lower tier?

I don't think you can go down, but you will stay with you current team, if you are terrible, and won't get any new offers.

Can you move to a lower tier intentionally? For example if I wanted to do LMP1 then Formula A could I?

That's kind of what I was getting at, so if you go through the tiers moving up each time once you get to LMP1 you can't drop down and switch to a different discipline?

If it's not possible just start another career at the bottom. Multiple driver careers can be saved.

I already saw in several videos that when the car is entering the pits appears the option (Driver Swap) what would that be? will it be possible for example in endurance us we switch between driving and riding IA for us? As a team?

Do you guys have an idea already for your career plans?

I'm still undecided at this moment. On one hand, I'd like to start out on the bottom with Karting, and work my way up. On the other hand I'm really looking forward to be racing in the various GT3 championships. As the game gives you the freedom of picking your starting point, it's gonna be hard not to start in GT3 immediately.

So I have a couple of options:
- Start out in Karting and see where it takes me
- Start out in Karting and try to direct my career path towards the GT3 and Endurance championships
- Start directly in GT3 and make a career in all championships these cars are involved in.
- The one above, combined with a second career slot where I start out in Karting and work my way up in either open wheel or prototypes.
- ...

So many possibilities :)

I will probably start aiming at zero to hero with career 1 and with a second path accomplish the other historic goals. My basic idea is to have a bit of variety in terms of disciplines avoiding the high end open wheeled part as f1 2015 will release in june. No bother to replay parts. No idea however how invitational events change in relation to the career path.
Career 1: i will in start in kart, superkart and than vertical move to touring, gt5, gt4, gt3 and again vertical to lmp2, lmp1 (objective: zero to hero and triple crown with gt3, lmp2, lmp1)
Career 2: start in gt3 (3 years in a row) and than endurance

just a quick question, as i undestood this game will have a season on every category we choose, what im wondering do we know if the championship will be point based and are the AI organised in a way that specific opponents will end up in the top 10 in nearly every race? For example in F1 some drivers will always come first second or third end stay competetive thoughout the season, will this also happen in Pcars? do we have any info about that? Im kinda worried it will be like GT where you race for the sake of racing (and collecting money which is irrelevant to this topic) and not to enjoy the competition against the A.I (im not an online gamer anymore so AI kinda matter to me)

yes i've wondered this as well. hopefully there'll be some rival drivers who always do well in their relevant disciplines, it would be too random if any old car wins. hope this in place already.

there was also a good question a little while ago where someone asked if you'd progress through your career whilst having competitors progressing with you, so some drivers you raced again in, say, Superkarts, would find themselves racing against you in Formula B, for example. this would be a great feature.

Ohhh yeay that would have been amazing but i kinda wonder cause if you dont start from the bottom there will be no continuity if you know what i mean. would be bad i would start from F1 for example and than jump to carts in the next season driving against my previous rival. quess this freedom of everything unlocked has also difficulties in keeping players interested in progress if everything is available. dont know will see how i experiance the game. im really hyped but also really critical about the game with many thoughts but i wanna try it cause its something new to me and there are no sim racers for ps4 right now :D

Keep your expectations in check guys and you'll be happy. pCARS 1 will have the bare-bones structure for the career, but the meat (fluff, bells&whistles, w/e you wanna call it) will only come in the next iterations. Think of how FIFA re-started their career mode work on next-gen, except simpler, because this is the first game in the (hopefully) series.

Well, they definitely have enough capability out of the PS4 and XBOX One.

If I'm not mistaken, PCARS 1 is more about the physics and the actual racing, while if they make a PCARS 2 it'll (hopefully) keep the same physics(and touch it up) but expand on the career, car/track licenses and other details like that.

im defo bying the game, but these are just random questions that cross my mind which will affect my experiance in the future. The good thing is im buying this game and f1 which will be released a month later (if they dont delay it) so if neccessary i will have F1 for carreer mode and project cars for competetive ai endurance racing and all over racing experiance through the many available options of race cars and leagues

Pretty much this, except I'm sure even the physics will improve a bit too.

I dont know the answer to the question about rivals, but I remember the same question being brought up at WMD by the members. So it is definitely on SMS' radar and it only makes sense to include it at some point, if it isnt in already.

The ultimate option here would be the option to edit the pool of driver names so you could race against your friends/family/favourite names in career mode

We are racing against ourselfs. The drivers are named after (some of the) wmd forum members. But renaming would also be a cool feature. Maybe something like: At the beginning of the career you are able to create 5-6 drivers who don't neccessary start in the same categorie but who you can drive against later when all of you are in higher tiers?

I'd want a pool of about 300 names. Former racing drivers, psn friends, footballers, cricketers, family, real life friends and more :)

Better make it 600.

Frankly... If you want to race your family and friends, thats what multiplayer is for. Editing the names of your opponents would be kinda lame imho, its not like real race drivers can determine who they want to race against. The current solution with names from WMD members is fine imho, I just hope they have a certain consistency over your career (becoming recognisable rivals etc).

Would be kind of cool if your rival will be yourself:dopey: even thought the chance is pretty small considering how many names are in the game. I didn't find myself yet :(
