I'm in my 2nd season(Superkarts) after having done the 125cc karts in my 1st season. I've been doing all the invitational events I receive, and looking at my stats below, there is still a lot of racing to be had as I've done 243 races in 1.5 seasons! (Not counting the 2 online races :))

Just started my fifth season. Only doing occasional invitational events for now so focusing mainly on the main series I'm racing.

Started in Karts, one the UK nationals, just, then won Kart One with 1 race spare. Followed it up with the Glencairn Kart Club invitational what I won at a canter.

Went into superkarts for S2, utilising the Dubai Superkarts invitational to get a feel for them ahead of the nationals and the main event. Won both fairly easily. Finished the season with a UK based Caterham invitational made up of 4 races. Came 3rd overall.

Moved to tin tops for S3, Gridstorm Racings Clio. Won the opener, then failed to win again but raced consistently enough to win the championship in the main race at Brands Hatch right at the death.

S4, Not content with only one win I stuck with the Clios, taking 7 wins from 10. Struggling mainly at Snetterton and Oulton Park after a fumbled pit stop cost me dear in the latter and poor setup hindered the former. Also took 2nd place in the Monza Pagani invitational event.

Now into S5 and the journey through tin top and GT racing continues with the Ginetta G40 juniors.

Despite being turned right off when jumping into karts this morning, I've had plenty of time at work today to reflect. I'm going to keep a journal of sorts, tracking progress and all that jazz. Set-ups, results etc. keep it all on paper and immerse myself in it. First of all, I'm going to free practice those karts a lot.

Is it restricted to karts only, or can Glencairn be used for free practice by cars? Would probably be more fun in a Mark 1 Escort!

Well after my first season in the German RUF GT3 championship I managed 5th overall .
I only got one contract offer and that's to stay with my current team and do another season which I'm happy to do and hopefully with a little more consistency I can get a top 3 .

What difficulty you guys are using mainly? I'm just now starting in the karts and using 70% AI for right now until I get better. Might bump it up to 80% real soon.:)

On 80% i won every time, on 85% i don't so it makes the game a lot more fun. Hope the console people get to chose in between the 10's soon, as for example 90% would be a bit too hard for me.

I need 95%!!!
I think the problem lays with keyboard inputs being required. When i use the directional pad on my wheel i can only select tenfolds also, and i need the keyboard to select digits in between. They just copy pasted it from the PC and forgot that people on consoles don't use keyboards.

As I haven't had that much playing time so far I'm only coming up to the end of season one. Finished second in the UK Formula Rookie championship, 2nd in the European championship, and won the world championship. Have been playing on lower difficulty for the time being until I'm fully used to the game.

Now it's only September but I'm in formula gulf with the last round to go, nice touch that I don't have to start an entire new season for this. I would have liked to see formula rookie have a 7-8 round British championship before perhaps a euro and World Cup one off weekends (like the FFord festival) as that would have seemed more realistic than the 2 round UK championship.

Got lots of offers to race in GT5 next season, is it any good? Was planning on sticking to open wheel for now

So I just finished the last race of season 2 and won the superkart championship. The next race was a McLaren F1 one off race so I entered, practiced and qualified. When I started the race I looked to see how many laps it was and saw a counter counting down. Seems I'm in my 1st endurance race and I have a long race ahead of me!

I struggled with that race, after 10 or so laps my tires went to go and i couldn't keep it on the road anymore at a descent pace. But i was a bit silly as i didn't know that i could do more tuning to the car if i pressed the arrow on the top right in the tuning menu , thought i could only arrange tyre pressures on the F1.

Which part of career where classic formula one cars can be used? also McLaren P1, and other hypercars? and does career mode have stock car racing?

nice screen grab!

Just a quick question...whats the next level up in the Touring tier after the Clio Cup? And where would you have to finish in the clio championship to get the next offer?

I'm not starting a career until I'm comfortable with the basics (mainly FOV and FFB settings).
There is so much to get acquainted with. So far it feels like a first date. :)

I'm with you there, I've been free-practising my heart out, but loving it!

I'm a little lost with respect to strategies, how can I know how many liters of fuel I necessido to make a run? Fi a run yesterday and did not change anything in the fuel, I started with 37 liters and finished with 17 yet, that is, spent only 20 liters, so I could have started with only 21 liters. But how do you know?
Another thing, a cycle race where he started dry and it rained in the middle of the race, the strategy settings I selected tires according to the weather, the race started in the dry, but in two laps my tires were hot, red, seem to the car already came out with wet tires, but early in the race was dry yet.
Is there anywhere that I can see which tire is in the car during the race?
One more question, is there any place that shows the engine temperature? I burst two engines yesterday, I think I was abusing the rotations, but it would be nice if it had some warning before, something showing that the engine is at the limit.

how can i change gear ratios, driving mk1 escort and cant see an option for it in setup.........sorry for being a noob!!! BUT I NEED HELP???

ps.... I think i found it, so please ignore

1) Practice sessions allow you to see how much fuel you burn.
2) You can't see the tire you start on. Better to go slicks if dry at the start and set pit strategy to change to inters or wets.
3) Your Motec display allows you to keep an eye on oil and water temps. It's s good idea to map a button to cycle the display in the controller configure screen.

Well i just finished and won the Clio cup car racing and have now signed for 125cc shifters im going the formula A route to raech the World endurance Championship. Currently have my difficulty set at 50 ehile i get used to the game ill up it soon and am racing at 100% races so i have more time to woek my way through the field.

I created a spreadsheet using the data on the career dashboard to list the major championships in the game. If anyone is going to try and 'win it all' feel free to download it and use it to track your progress!

GT3 US Trophy, Sprint race at Watkins Glen with a McLaren 12C, both AI and race length at 100% (19 laps). Qualified 4th and after a few laps I've managed to overtake for 3rd place. Then I spent the following 11 or 12 laps trying to catch the duo in the lead, which was around 2,5 seconds ahead of me, but despite pushing really hard the gap never went under 2 seconds. Meanwhile I guess I've ruined my tires so it was time to defend the position, closing the inside line for 3 or 4 laps, until on lap 18 (penultimate lap) the fuel light turned on. Refueling isn't allowed on the sprint race, and there was no way to finish the race, even lifting off as much as possible. It has been a great race, really enjoyable: the AI pace was very realistic and it was great fun trying to gain a tenth here and there, because the pace was basically identical between me and my opponents. But on the other hand it was frustrating to end the race like that.
Only afterwards I've noticed that the default amount of fuel in the tank is only 60 liters. It's possible to increase it before starting the race and I already knew it, but I also thought the random amount of fuel the game puts in was enough to complete the race safely. I don't know if it's the car, my driving (I play with a DS4, all aids off apart from ABS)or something else, but from now on I'll always put some extra fuel on the tank before starting a sprint race. Maybe I'll be a bit slower but at least I'll finish the race.
