Starting 3rd season now. 2 season with fiestas, over all 3rd in first winner in second moved to GT5/ginettas. Skipped all invitational events because the cars in the were driving like **** and i can't care les for carts :D

Hello everyone,

Before I dig deeper into the career mode I have a some questions I hope can be answered or at least I can be steered into the right direction. I did scan the thread from posts made last week to current and didn't see anything relevant to my questions. I used a Spoiler Tag so the post doesn't take up a lot of space.

I’ve made my way to and completed my first kart championship (Dubai) in the month of March (Zero to Hero).

In general what factors, if any, effect the career mode positively, negatively or can change the direction I progress?

Some immediate example that stand out are:

*Affinity - (Win, Loss, Restarts and such).

*AI difficulty – Right now I’m on 50% since I’m not very comfortable or good with the DualShock 4 controller and as we are all aware the Logitech wheels are a no go. I have a Driving Force GT that is perfect for me and WISH would work. (Hint, hint) My last two races I won by 11+ seconds so I may bump it up. Does that change anything outside of a better AI?

*Number of laps – I have been doing 100% (10 lap Sprints and 15 lap Races for karts). Does 100% give you a real life number of laps or am I adding unnecessary number of laps?

*Restart on – What’s the benefits to turning it off? Better and more frequent offers since I’m showing confidence in my abilities? Seems like an odd option to have.

Also, I have offers from other teams 8+months down the road in my inbox. Does that mean I’ll be in the Tier 8 karting section at least till then? If so, how can I accept them now so I don't miss out on the
opportunity?

If it’s not clear, I’m not very familiar with how a racing season works (which I’m guessing is close to if not just like real life). I see that you must win the LMP1 series in 10 seasons. How can I tell I’m on track with completing that? I really don’t want to have to start all over because I missed the deadline by a race or two.

I completely understand if nobody wants to go step by step but could someone at least post a link so I can understand the scheduling better?

Is there anything I should know to make the career mode a smooth experience? I don’t have a problem earning my way (my Gran Turismo 6 Stats screen will show that). I just don’t want to miss something. Example being, when I first started the career I had to pick between two teams. Was there a benefit choosing one team over the other I missed in their letters or future offers?

Thanks for any assistance.

Many questions, but I think I can answer some.
From what I understand, yesterday I also received a proposal to run a special kart event to be held in November, but there was no button to accept, but I'm still in March, I believe that when November at the game schedule will open the option to be able to accept or decline the invitation.

Another thing about the contract deals, as early in the season, we have two options, I believe this is just to spruce up the game, but anyway we will have the same path.

What will influence on your next contract deals are linked only to the u current position in the league, if you go and get a good offer, but it goes wrong, you can only be offered to renew the contract for another season on the same team .

I'm playing at 80%, in the first year with karts, the reset button is very useful because before the races do not know the track, so I always give something close to 5 laps to know (a bit) the track, and then restart the race because running without knowing the track is very complicated in karts, more than in larger circuits.

Thanks for the response.👍

Think im going to start my career again. I didnt really know what i was doing when I first started project cars but now i have a better understanding. Start from tier 8 and work my way up to Formula A. For my second career Ill go the GT3 route and the. Do an LMP run. Wish I had more time to play this game.

has anyone successfully raced in rain??? example here: Career invitational Ford Fiesta race? (i think i have tried over 10x times with wheels and controller, and just gave up can not get passed 6th place.....? any suggestions or recommendations in regards to setup for this rain race?)
and surely will give also new career later another try to go GT3! (those Karts..............!!!)

I just enter my third season and got a contract to drive the supekarts:D Finally I don't have to drive those 125 karts:yuck: I don't like the handling of those karts. But anyway I enjoy driving the super karts. I bump up the AI difficulty to 90% because it seem like with super karts they are easy to beat. Now that I bump it up they been kinda a challenge now.

I skipped the karts, went straight into the Clio Cup. In the Ginetta event right now, had a great race at Oulton Park. Smashed into a barrier on lap one, recovered to pull out a lead by lap 11/12 and then had a brain fart and spun off again. Finished 7th. Most fun I've had in an offline race for a long time.

Did the first season in 125cc Kart, won the national championship three steps and then went to a higher league, five steps, I'm playing at 80% and won both championships.
I received 4 or 5 random invitations but did not get any contract proposal, I have to do now to race 3 hours Mclaren F1, and then other events for guests, but so far no contract for Super kart or something else.

Okay, I just discovered this last night and since the UI is hideously designed I figured other people might have missed it. When looking at your Driver Network Profile and hovering over the career tab you can actually see more information by alternating the R2 button. Here you can view your current accolades, Endorsements and what is required to get invites to the invitational events.

Took me 14 hours to find that existed!

So i won the Clio Cup season, Did not read the contract offers right...Thought i was joining Ginetta GT4 team instead i joined the Ford Mustang GT4 team and the car is disgusting to drive, Really struggling with it and not finding it much fun at all :scared:

Also im not really finding the road car invitational's much fun either as most cars seem horrible to drive especially the Ruf, R8 road car has so far only been the one thats fun to drive.
Where in the contract offers did you see what car they drive ? I had a choice of two ( torque and red something ) but their was no car info did i miss a tab or something ?

Read every word in the offer e-mail. For me it's always been there.

Still in the first season in the Clio Cup. Horribly not consistent, so after 3 rounds I'm sitting 5th with about 40 some odd points to catch up to 1st place. Finished 9th and 12th in Donington, 1st and 10th in Snetterton, and 4th and 4th in Silverstone.

Signed with a GT4 team in my 3rd season, first race is at the Dubai Autodrome, I finish the 12 lap sprint race, next up is the 24 lap main race, out of fuel on lap 21/24 haha. Did not touch the amount of fuel under tuning, thanks team, thanks a lot! Great math! Will rather manage it myself from now on.

What was really annoying was in Silverstone, I just came out of the pits in race 2, and lining up for a turn after coming out, I guess my car was still in "ghost" mode. One of the AI driver was able to drive through me, so his car was transposed into mine, causing me to not see anything in front and around me. Guess what, totally missed my braking point and went off track.

I finished season 1 in the clio cup with Rockford. I get 3 offers 2 for G40 with different teams and 1 with Rockford for another season of clio I pick G40 team and guess what team i'm racing against ? Rockford ,if they offered me a contract in G40 i might have taken it . Even though they screwed my pit stop up twice haha

Pitstops...I hate them. Ruined two of my pit stops too. Dropped from comfortable 1st to 15th both times.

For those that did the Clio Cup, at what point do you usually pit in? I have pitted in usually one lap after halfway point (100% length), but most of the times it has worked against me, and am tempted to try pitting in earlier

Does anyone know what to do or when in career to race in "wec"? Started off immediately in lmp1 but After now 2 or 3 Seasons it just stays the Same... I would reeeaaally Love to do the le mans 24 h race or has anyone ever done the 24 h race in career Mode and can Tell me sth about multiclass? Thx

I love this game, but the AI is so dumb! I get punted off almost every race!

Yeah experienced that a lot with formula b and Monte Carlo in general. Lmp1 on the Other hand and gt3 Seem to be okay but there are too Many examples where the ai is all over the Place as I Said ,Monaco is a Mess

Since you mentioned the AI, I also frequently get rammed of track by them, it sometimes seems like they don't recognize you on the road. Also pisses me of when in qualifying I just start my flying lap and the AI comes out of pits right in front of me and ruins my lap instead of letting me pass. Experienced the same thing today in a race when I lapped a couple of cars in a long race, blue flags do not exist for them, so frustrating.

Interesting, I do exactly the same.

I also had a ruined pitstop, actualy two of them in the Clio Cup. First time they had some problems with putting on my new wheels, well one of them, dropped to the back of the pack because of it, was in there for like 20 ekstra seconds haha, second time it was my fault, my teammate went in and I didn't get "the memo" until it was to late, we both went in the same lap but he was in front so I had a nice tour through the pit stop only to return again next lap. Other than that it was always smooth. But that first problem the mechanics had was kinda cool, it's realistic so I can't be pissed at the game, only at my mechanics hehe.

I just can't get race 2. Oulton Park, Clio Cup, started from pole. Great start, had a 2 second lead by lap 4. Weather was foggy. By end of lap 4 it started sprinkling. End of lap 5 car started to get squirrely. Decided to pit early and get the jump. Gambled on inters. Well, wheel nut stuck, AGAIN! And notified me that my gears might not work.

I got back out in 10th. By then it started raining quite hard. Inters worked ok for couple laps, in which I was able to pass people in the pits to get up to 6th. By that point my teammate was in 5th, and about 4 seconds ahead. I was able to gain on him, to about 2 seconds, when the inters didn't work so well and I went off at Fosters and Druids Hill, which the gap increased to 5 seconds. Kept at it, and rain died down a bit and inters worked decent again, but still slid everytime I hit the gas a bit in corners.

I noticed I was still lapping a bit faster than my teammate, so kept on it. With 5 laps I started eating into the gap, and lowered it to 2.5 to 3 secs with 3 laps to go, when my engineer told me to pit to change tires. I said eff that and continued. By last lap, with my tires giving out a bit every corner, I finally got to his bumper at Knickerbrock. He tried to pull a gap at Clay Hill and into Druids Corner. I was able to somehow get really close and pass him out of Lodge Corner and into Dear Leap...winning, well getting 5th by .2 secs!

tyre wear has not been an issue for me so I just pit after a string of hot laps. usually not before lap 8 or so unless it starts raining.

in Rd. 4 I pitted as soon as the rain started as I was approaching the start straight anyway, went for wets, changed the tyre pressures (made the mistake first time of only changing one tyre as I just saw the first 'wet' and thought it applied to all tyres lol. don't know why the pressures are all so low on the new sets so they needed changing too). the rain stopped and the track dried so I ran the last 4 or 5 laps on my wets and they still didn't degrade and I was probably only 1 second slower on wets in the dry than I was on slicks. bit odd.

There is a small overview on the right side of the e mail: team name, country and car.

I can't believe they actually implemented pit crew mistakes. What a stupid idea, maybe a novelty the first time, but it would just piss me off.
What's next, 'Mechanic says the engines not running right, you won't be racing today'
Could add to further 'immersion'.

That is absolutely something I want to see in the game. In fact, I also want to see backmarker teams with unreliable cars. If there's no open seat in a top team on the next step up the ladder, do you take a good ride in a lower series, or a lower-level team in the main game.

Obviously not everyone wants that, so make it an option, or maybe even career mode only, but yes, absolutely - features like that would add an immense increase in immersion and career dynamics.
