Figured out why I feel disconnected from Career mode. It's the Career Dashboard.

The Results tab should only list championships/events that I'm involved. Or have sub sections (All Championships and My Championships) that can be viewed with L2/R2 (on PS4).

The current Overview tab is pointless. Stats are great but should be stats from Career, not my entire pCARS profile. Instead of current Accolades/Invitationals bucket list, Career stats should be tracked historically by seasons. Example...
Season 1
Kart One champion
M1 Invitational 3rd place
McLaren F1 Invitational 8th place
Season 2
Etc.

The career mode really is barebones, they could have done so much more with stat-tracking, fan-chat and just making a bigger deal of your rise to fame in general.

There is definite opportunity to improve stat tracking. I was excited that SMS chose to mimic sports gaming career mode (vs car collection and events). Outside of the gameplay, stats are key part to successful sports games.

Totally agree, some sort of Race of Champions event that required a certain amount of victories in a season would have been a great incentive to enter invitationals every year too.

Yeah, the Formula 1000 season was fun but way too short.
For season 5 I've taken a LMP1 contract in the WEC.
This is going to be great!

Well, I discovered that Snetterton is not a track for me. I'm not sure I got any corner right consistently in the Clio there. I'd bumped the AI up to 100% after winning by 15s or so at Donington at 90%, I got caught out by a bit of rain in qualifying, but it made no difference. I think I just about got within a second of the fastest car at times.

Final corner was hell, could never settle the car, invariably running wide. Really bumpy going in to it. The Clio is fun, but I'm looking forward to something RWD.

Keep the throttle when starting to brake as close to the right as possible. Keep it at around 10 or 20%

This weeks Autosport has a corner by corner track guide for Snetterton, just what you need. :)

What does that mean?
That means that when approaching a braking zone where you have to brake while turning, to avoid the rear to get to loose, you should keep applying the throttle a bit to stabilize the car.

Try that and see how it helps you :)

In season 3....it seems like im going through endless invitationals, still waiting for the Ginetta Junior championship!

I may skip some next time as i want to get my teeth into proper series of races.

Same here, but the invitationals I keep getting are sooooo much fun.

Alternating between Racing a Grp 5 320 in Europe with a RuF CTR 4 in the US at the moment and the GT3 stuff can wait for now (the CTR 4 around Road America is utterly bonkers).

I can't race any of my invitationls yet they are all in November and i am still racing G40's in August. I thought i could jump ahead but i can't.

The fuel conservation needed for the Monza Track day in the Pagani is mad! Just finished the event in first on my 4th season with 1.6 units of fuel. It was very scary times indeed.

Gearing up for a Gt4 Bathurst race tonight driving a new species of whale called the 302R. I failed to qualify in the rain so the first race I'll be at the back. The final series of races and I'm in 3rd place, 9 points behind the leader. I've been thinking about this all damn day! Ha ha

What race distance are you running? I'm doing 100% race lengths and haven't yet seen the AI pit problems others have mentioned (compulsory pit on the last lap, etc), so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. 100% difficulty too.
To come back to this one, I attempted this race several times with many different results. Probably no less than 15 restarts just to find out the various possibilities.

In some instances, as many as 9 other cars would pit at the end of lap 1.
Sometimes it would only be two or three and others none would pit with a variety in between.

If none pit at the end of Lap 1, only 9 will pit when it begins to rain. The best possible finish would be 10th.
If nine pit at the end of Lap 1, as many as 9 more will pit when it begins to rain. The best possible finish would be 3rd. I had this scenario a couple of times.

There was once in which many pitted after Lap 1, a few more pitted after Lap 2 and the rest of the field pitted with me when it rained. I thought for sure that would be the race I would surely win since I was in the lead the entire race, pitted from the lead with a 8+ second lead. But, no. I had a jammed wheelnut. Came out 7th after the stop. Raced up to 5th and let it ride. At least the game didn't "cheat" me. Bad luck, sure. But not blatant cheating.

That was the G40 at Silverstone, right? Now that you mention it, I did have multiple AI opponents pit from the first lap that they were able to, which could match with what you're describing. I only ran it once, no restarts, so can't compare different results.

However I may have run into a different 'problem' in the GT4 class, regarding AI lap times. I practiced and qualified in the top ten for both races, including starting in 2nd for the main race, but in the race itself I'm about 1.5 seconds slower than the field.... Trulli Train all the way from me to last... not good.

Did anyone ever get a contract offer from a different team in the same series? I'm starting to get the feeling that SMS forgot to add that...

Man the rolling start for the sprint race for GT4 is bonkers. Driving V8 Vantage GT4 first race in the Asia GT4 cup in Dubai. Rolling start...second place takes first position right after the light turns green. I mean, if 2nd position will take 1st position before race starts, why the hell did I qualify for pole then??? :banghead::grumpy:

I hate that fan chat with a passion, reminds me of stupid teenage girls that sit on facebook/twitter every minute of the day.
Invitation events confuse the hell out of it as well.

I've had ones (mainly with the BMW 1M) in which I have topped practice, qualifying and lead the race from start to finish and they still give me abuse over it!!!

Yeah i've noticed that too, a lot of it is just random gibberish which makes it even worse.

Ah Snetterton. I had a lot of problems with Brundle and Nelson in the beginning, but once I got the hang of it I found it quite an enjoyable track. I got lucky with qualifying there. Ran a decent but not really fast lap at the start of the session right before it started to rain, securing me the pole. That was pretty cool.

I finally started the Ginetta GT5 cup last night on 80%....wow its tough! I qualified 19th out of 20 at Oulton...and made one place up in the race! It was enjoyable though..felt really realistic. My teammate was down there with me aswell....our prospects arnt looking good hehe!

I changed to the setup that is posted in the tuning forum, seemed to be good..but whats with the ginetta's gearing? I get a really slow getaway and youre in 2nd gear for about half a second?

I like how my teammates car is painted differently than mine, sort of. Design is pretty much the same, but mine is black and his is white, just a cool touch I thought.

Just completed the sprint race of the first round at Dubai Autodrome. Again, that rolling start had me in 2nd position even though I was pole, so had to outbrake him at the first corner to take it back. Was able to hold him off until the 4th lap (out of 12) he passed me, and started putting some distance to me. I swear it was like he was Marc Marquez except on four wheels. I was able to put consistent lap times around low 1:45s (my qualifying time for Quali 1 and 2 were 1:44.1 and 1:44.5 respectively, the 2nd fastest quali time was 1:44.9), but the one that passed me in his G55 GT4 was smoking it at the race, putting consistent times of low 1:44.2, even dipping to 1:43.8 for couple laps! After a while he was about 13 seconds ahead of me...it looked like I was actually leading the race due to how far ahead he was.

I had a hard time defending 2nd place. Pretty much every lap half the corners I had to defend from 3rd place trying to overtake. I think I roasted my tires by the 6th lap as I couldn't put the power down as I wanted, and it wasn't until I changed my driving style to account for the overheated tires (front left and rear left) that my laptimes became a bit more consistent.
