A few things:
Do endorsements do anything? Like at all? Is there a point in getting accolades for the endorsements?

Gt4, is the m3 gt4 that much slower than the Aston and ginetta, or do I just suck? (Any tuning help would be app.)

Is it possible that it is a glitch that I have never had the "dropped a lug but" put chatter?

And finally, MY GOD SAKITTO IS SOOO BUMPY

(that was unbearable in the gt4 BMW)

Im driving the 302r in GT4 right now and the Ginettas are tough to beat. They are faster through the corners and can brake later. In the race at Dubai and Sakitto all the Ginettas finished at the top.

You got offer to drive M3? I only got invitation to drive the Mustang, Aston, and Ginetta, and I chose the Aston. And boy is Sakitto a tricky track to drive. Love it, but mess up all the time lol.

Yea the Ginettas seem the one to beat. I'm on the Aston and they lose out on speed on straights but seem to handle better and can take corners much faster. I couldn't keep up with them in the race in Dubai.

Did some research on the Sakitti GP circuit to see the respective times of the GT4 cars. This was with a 90 minute quali session with 45 cars.

Fastest : Ginetta - Pos 1-10 which was all the Ginettas in the session (all cars quicker than every other car)

2nd : V8 Vantage - Fastest Vantage 1.7 secs off pole - Pos 11-18

3rd/4th : Mustang + M3 - Fastest 2.6 secs off pole The Mustang and the M3 are very close - only a couple of tenths between all Mustang's and M3's - Pos 19-33

5th : Rapide - Fastest 3.1 secs off pole - Lacking speed, locking out the remaining positions.

There is a clear pecking order here, so getting the right car in career is crucial to success!

That's a pretty good test. While the Ginettas are the fastest, I doesn't feel completely unfair though. There were a few races that the Ginettas were running in that I came in first. They aren't impossible to beat, just difficult.

Last night in GT4 at Imola I had a big lead and decided to pit around lap 13/19. I was far enough ahead that I was able to get a change of tires and still left the pits in 1st place. By the first corner the 2nd place driver got around me and we exchanged positions several times over that lap. Im not sure which corner it is, it's a downhill right that turns into an uphill right (just before the chicane), but I'm always much faster than the AI through it. While in 2nd I take that corner faster than the AI; I try to avoid rear ending him by coming up on his right side. However, I backed out of the throttle and the rear end stepped out. I wasn't able to save it and embraced the wall head on. This drops me back to about 5th and as I'm driving, I'm checking my read-outs. My water and oil temps had jumped about 20-30 degrees from where they generally run. So I decide to pit with about 4 laps left for repairs to avoid blowing the engine. While, I'm pitting I decided I'd change to softs and go balls to the wall, maybe I'd steal a few points. During the pit stop the engineer comes over the radio "we've got a jammed wheel nut, relax."

Short story, I went from pole and a massive lead to last place over the course of two laps. It was as devastating as it was great.

Onto my 2nd season in the Ginetta GT5....and a much better result at the first race at Oulton...i came 6th and 2nd,taking me to the top of the table! - better than last season, where i came 17th twice! Not sure why im so much better this time around - maybe im just used to the car. Its probably the easiest to drive in the game imo. Qualifying is really important though.

I was surprised it was all new driver names for the 2nd season? Was expecting the same from last time.

The lighting in the 2nd race was stunning - coming down the hill in the sunset...beautiful.

Yes when I planned on gt4, I tested all the cars and decided I enjoyed the Aston and ginetta the most. M3 felt too heavy/shifts slow, and I cannot drive the mustang. Rapids also felt havy yo me.

When I went for the contracts (started a separate career for this), the only options were m3 and mustang which were my 2 last choices.

I actually enjoy the m3, but I have a sneaking feeling all the other cars are just quicker than me.

Every time I sign a new contract for a series I haven't raced in before, I get pleasantly surprised at the differences between the car I was driving in the previous series and the new series.

I keep thinking 'It doesn't get better than this!', but it does! I've now logged 200 hours on this game with no sign of letting up in the future. PCars just does it for me!

Just did quali 1 at Sakkito with the Aston. Had an awesome time at it. First timed lap did 1:08.5. Second lap did 1:08.3. Third lap did 1:07.9. Fourth lap did 1:07.8. Messed up next lap, then sixth lap did 1:07.592! Keep in mind in both practices I never dipped in the 1:07s...only did 1:08s, and struggled so. So I took a look at what second place was doing, with about a third of the time left, second place was almost a second off. Thinking I'm in the clear, I pitted and changed psi's a bit to test something, and also see how much fuel I use in a lap cause I forgot to monitor it in practice, I went back out and did some laps, but not exactly pushing 100%.

Well you can guess it...some focker in a Ginetta decided to post a 1:07.575 with 2 minutes to go to get first. I'm like :banghead:🤬:ouch::nervous: So I pushed. First lap went off course. Second and last lap, first sector was .3 seconds off, I'm like I'm toast. After a great second sector though brought it back to +.03, so very close. But alas I messed up in the last kink corner and missed out on 1st.

Overall the best quali I had, due to the clear progression each lap, which was very satisfying. Before all my quali's, I tend to put in a banker lap, then mess up lots in the middle, before putting one quick one at the end. This time I was able to string in good laps consistently.

Couple things I learned at the first race at Sakitto.

1. It was good starting at P2 with the damn rolling start. I was first before the lights turned green.

2. I lose so much damn time in the first turn to the Ginettas. They brake so much later and take that so much faster.

3. It is wasted effort to defend my 1st position here. By the 4th lap my tires are toast, and I have to start defending. Going into the last kink, the one with the tire wall, I defend perfectly, about to turn in, when the damn Ginneta comes straight on the grass to my right, and drills me to the wall while bouncing back and somehow ended up in 1st place. This was after leading the race for 7 laps with 2 laps remaining.

Needless to say, as much as I hate restarting, I did. New race, 1st lap, punted by the same Ginetta in turn 1, when i had the racing line.

Race 2 is 18 laps with pitstop...this is gonna be awesome.

Another funny thing I forgot to mention. The AI managed to hit every braking marker board within first two laps. I laughed when I saw it all gone lol

My issue is the last part of that. The scripted failures are just BS. I was racing lmp2, had a good 4 second lead ahead of the pit stops. Was stuck in the pits with electrical issues. I knew from previous races that it can be scripted so I restart and surprise surprise, it happened again!

I had a race in the Clio cup where I had a wheel nut issue , I re ran the same race and when I pitted I had no problems so I'm not convinced it is scripted .

I had a friend who actually re ran a clio race 3 times with the wheel nut issue. At the start of a career in the clios, breakdown does seem scripted :( same with my le mans 24. Got 40 minutes in and had a blown engine. I monitored all temps and pressures and they were fine. Went again and found the same issue. My car just gave up on the mulsanne with all temperatures normal and no unusual oil pressure

I didn't get that pit mistake in any of my Clio Cup races thankfully

I ran the Clio and Ginetta Jnr championships twice and didn't have the same issues with pit mistakes and/or mechanical issues at all (in fact I had no mechanical issues at all across the four seasons with these two).

Weather is scripted in career, I've personally seen no evidence that pit errors or mechanical damage is. I don't however run with restarts, so I don't know if it assigns them at the start of an event. That would make them consistent if you restarted, but not if you re-run the championship from the start.

Really? That had been the first time I ever had any kind problem in the pits in 3 seasons.

Yeah unfortunately I seem to get a pattern of failures. I ran the lmp2 at Laguna secs and was held in the pits as I had a loose wheel nut. Furious that yet again I had a failure, I restarted to see if it would happen again, this time I had electrical issues. Maybe I just have useless pit crews and cars? I won't restart if I crash or have an off, I'll come last if that's how the race is going, but I can't stand these failures constantly hitting me!

I think I finally found out what setting AI I like for career.

As long as I stick to the cars I am good at and ignore invitations in cars I am not then I think I can manage 100.

Apparently I am an alien then.

I finally got back to doing career after taking a break from it for like a week. Did race 2 of my LMP2 in the rain of course ran damn near last because of the god like AI in the rain and then to make things worse I had a mechanical failure:banghead: So yea that didn't go well. But I had a blast doing some of the inventational events today:)

I did Round 2 & 3 of the Ginetta GT5 cup last night at Donington & Silverstone...came 2nd & 1st at both venues!

I knew from last season that the rain comes at Silverstone,so i built up a big lead so when it came i had to defend heavily from the non-affected AI and i only lost one place! I know its a bug they are sorting but its quite satisfying getting tactics right as you are handicapped hehe.
