Finally managed to start a GT4 career over the last couple of nights and have completed the first event (Dubai). I fully understand now what everyone means by the "alien" like Ginettas in that class around the corners. I was in the Aston Hybrid and came first in the practice sessions and on pole for both races. (AI @ 80%).
In the first race, both Ginettas had overtaken me by lap 6 and went on to win by nearly 30 seconds - I came 3rd.
Race 2 and I stretched a good lead and held off pitting until lap 18. Came out of the pits in............yep you guessed it, 3rd place behind the Ginettas.
Can see me coming 3rd in that championship unless I can craftily push both Ginettas into a wall.

Whilst I understand that 'the racing is the point' when it comes to the reason for doing the career, I have to confess that I personally need the lure of unlockables to kick my bum into doing it

For me, having all the cars and tracks available from day one pretty much means that all I need to do for my buzz is set up my own race weekends

Even more so, if the rumour of being able to set up custom championships at some point in the future comes to fruition

It's all good, whichever way you choose to enjoy pCARS epic racing feel

Am I the only one who thinks that Ginetta GT5 is much easier than Clio Cup?

No! I agree. It is much easier, unless I just got a lot better when I moved up from the Clios. I've had to increase my AI % so I wouldn't win too easily.

Could be that the FR platform is easier to drive or the fact that the same tracks were used, but I agree. The Ginetta was a very easy series. But it gets much more difficult from there on. Any series from that point on gets much more competitive.

Yeah those Ginettas are fast. At the first corner in Sakitto they'll just walk away.
As for practice and qualifying I read that in order to make it more competitive you can max out your fuel load in the tuning section prior to pulling out of your garage bay. Since this is how the AI is set up right now.

Is that right, guys? That's something I haven't fiddled with yet.

Gt4 euro. Imola. Ai at 70%, sort of unsure how well they race here so I was testing the waters to decide on whether 70% or 80%. Practice 1. I do a few laps, warm tires, get a 1:58.3 and think okay, its practice 1, I'll just skip to end of session to see how I stack up. Ai managed 1:53.2!!!!! I was amazed!! So then I go to practice 2, I push my hardest and manage 1:57.2. So then I'm like, the ai is only on 70, and they are 4 seconds a lap quicker? Can't be true, so instead of skipping to the end of session, I just speed up time to 15x and no other driver gets better than 1:58.

Is this a glitch? Where is the 4 seconds of difference coming from? Also, the first practice showed the ai had done 16 laps while on second practice, the only did about 9-10

In short, what is the difference between skipping to end of session and speeding up the time.

I experienced the same thing very early on in the game, so I never use 'Skip to end of session'.

I was running the LMP3 semi pro events earlier and picked the Caterham. It seems that I would walk away from the Radicals once I got over 145mph but in the corners they were quick and coming out of the corners had better acceleration than I did. I easliy beat them on the tracks I know well but struggled on the ones I don't still managed a podium finish but could not get a win on Zolder.

Yes

Did anyone completed the goal of defending champion yet? I'm going to try to do it with LMP2. I still got 5 seasons left to get the zero to hero goal done so mind as well try to do this now.:) I'm in season 5 btw.

I haven't tried for the defending champ yet. Just starting LMP2 and will probably go ahead and jump into LMP1 at the end of the season. I have a second career which started in TC and is now up to GT3.

Not sure which series I will want to run multiple seasons.

Anyone who's got a recommendation of which car to take in the LMP3 Semi-Pro series?

After winning both US and Euro Formula C championships, I've got two Formula B, and two LMP3 Semi-Pro offers.
As my intention is to move towards the endurance series, I'm going for the LMP3 Semi-Pro.
I have an offer for the Radical and one for the Caterham. Is there a substantial difference between both?

For lmp3, the palmer jag is really easy to drive, very tame, but the radical sr3 was much quicker later on in the season when they put both together. Althought, the radical is tougher to drive

Got my Thrustmaster T300 and Playseat challenge yesterday, wondering whether to start again now and where to start now I am using a wheel.

That's for the Rookie series though. The Semi-Pro series runs the Radical SR8 and Caterham SP300R.

Same here, searched on the official forums and there was no thread about this. You mind if i use the input of you guys and start one there?

You can also get still AI practice and qualification times if you speed up time by 60x.

Will have to try the lower levels as it annoys me at tracks I know well in practice.

I thought I saw post on SMS forum where devs acknowledged this glitch. I have experienced this glitch on few occasions. I no longer skip to the end of qualifying.

EDIT: Although pausing career mode until patch 1.4. Likely will start new career after next AI update (corner aggression?) after 1.4.

Thanks for the tip, i mostly noticed it in practice as those sessions last longer. In quali not so much although i don't recall if i skipped or just did the whole session as it's 15 minutes anyway.

Yeah thought that too, but no mention of it on the bug thread.

I found out that if you use 'Skip to end of session' in a race, it will put you on P1 most of the time... I accidentally won the Formula C Euro series yesterday after the AI catapulted me out and left me with a lot of damage.

Oh my god i am really starting to get frustrated. I'm doing these inventational events and it's the lotus class of 86 and I'm on race 4 of 7 and just restarted like 6 times. I made a few mistakes and then the AI will just run over you and throw you off the damn track and it's frustrating.

open wheeler AI improvement is certainly a priority IMO

Good luck with getting the hang of it. If you've never used a wheel before and have become adept at driving with a controller, the learning curve is fairly steep.

I'd never used a wheel before but when I used my T300 it was so natural . I found it a lot easier to be precise and consistent .

It took me a solid year of GT5 & GT6 to get accustomed to mine and be able to match and beat my Time Trial lap times.

Just the AI in general needs a improvement. Once again I'm done with career until that patch comes. I tried to go back to it and give it a chance but I just can't. And the inventational events was going good until this happen. I'll just stick to online only for now until then. Well I'll try to...

I'm about the same speed now, used to use a fanatec a couple of years back so it's not been so bad
