Just the AI in general needs a improvement. Once again I'm done with career until that patch comes. I tried to go back to it and give it a chance but I just can't. And the inventational events was going good until this happen. I'll just stick to online only for now until then. Well I'll try to...
I'm currently tuning the Mclaren F1 for the 3hr Zolder race as that's as far as I've got through career. no rush though. I'm in the process of tuning a load of cars before committing to lots of MP as the stock set ups don't suit me that well and I want to at least give myself half a chance of competing with some of the guys out there

What i dont like about career is if you renew your contract in a certain series...its different drivers everytime?! Just as ive forged some rivalries between certain drivers, theyve been replaced by a totally new grid!

Im missing having battles between certain rivals i know, like in GRID Autosport. Anyone else feel the same?

I found out that if you use 'Skip to end of session' in a race, it will put you on P1 most of the time... I accidentally won the Formula C Euro series yesterday after the AI catapulted me out and left me with a lot of damage.
And now I will present you with a moral challenge.

You are 100% right that going straight for the 'Skip to end of session' will almost always give you a win; however if you first 'Retire to Pit Garage' and then take 'Skip to end of session' you will be placed last as a DNF.

So now which will you do? :odd:

I know always choose Retire before skipping. Although it will be tempting at some point to not cheat...

Man...finally got to the GT3 series, which I've been wanting to do forever and race the RUF. Well, I got contracts for pretty much all cars but the damn RUF!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead::mad:

Guess I'll choose the Z4 but damn what a bummer. I did do a practice run with the McLaren 12C GT3. That car is the 🤬, freaking beast of a car.

Well what an amazing 2 races at Spa , I'm in the RUF GT3 Supercup and managed a first in race one having had to fuel save for the last 5 laps as it was touch and go .
Race 2 i thought I'll add that bit extra so I can go all out , the race went like a dream pulling a gap of around 10 seconds before my compulsory pitstop , second place pitted behind so I maintained position and was home free until a massive moment through Blanchimont Saw me thump the wall and as a result I had to pit again due to suspension damage .
This saw me drop to 6th and with the track temp cooling I struggled with grip and couldn't gain any places .
This leaves me 3rd overall 6 points adrift of top spot going into Monza .

I drove the Mclaren 12c GT3 for one season in career and I agree. Such a beast. I wish I would of done the defending champion goal in that series. I kinda regret signing with LMP2 now. Especially that I'm struggling right now in that series.

I'm currently trying to decide whom I want to sign with in GT3. It's so hard to pick ha ha. I'm leaning towards the Audi. I drove all the cars I've received offers for and liked them but I seemed top be fastest in the Audi. But the noise from the Z4 is like a siren song. I can't choose! Ha ha. Thank Christ the Bentleys haven't been released yet, otherwise I never would choose.

Z4 or McLaren. Did you get contract offer with RUF? Z4 drives great and the noise is the amazing. McLaren drives like a beast though, I think even better than the Z4. I really wanted RUF but I didn't get an offer from them.

Just had my first race at Laguna with the Z4. 100% distance, 90 AI, so 28 laps. I dominated this race, lapping several people, and had a 17 sec advantage over 2nd place at one point. However only ended up winning by 6 seconds, because by the 26th lap noticed my fuel was running very low. So I slowed down for the penultimate lap, and actually pretty much coasted the last lap. My lead dwindled, but luckily didn't catch up. The backmarkers I passed at the last couple laps repassed me lol. The engine cut out at the front straight about 3 car lengths before crossing the finish line. It literally coasted past the finish line win.

No I didn't get an offer from Ruf. I got offers from everyone except Ruf and Mercedes. I chose the Audi last night, I drove all the cars around laguna and I was fastest in the Audi. Probably because I drove it last. I felt like I was trying to choose between super models ha ha.

You have to start in GT3 in your career to get the RUF contract.. Not sure why thou as the game preaches being able to do whatever you want, but not quite as you don't always get the car you would like to use..

I cannot remember how I did it as it was completely accidental, but there is a way to regenerate the "end of season" Career Offers depending on where your last save was.

I finished a Season, reviewed the Offers and exited. The next time I reloaded the Career, I had different Offers/options. I remember this specifically because the first time I had Formula Rookie offers and the second time I had Formula Gulf offers instead. Might be worth trying, at least.

That's kind of what I did too. I drove the Z4, McLaren, Aston Martin at Spa. Didn't try Audi cause I knew I didn't want to drive that one. Pretty much excluded the Aston even though it drives fairly well and has the nice Aston sound, but since I drove the Aston GT4 wanted something new. It was quite difficult choosing between McLaren and the Z4, but I did.

Like start straight from GT3? Well 🤬 I was hoping next season I'll get an offer from Ruf. Damn it.

I actually did that a dozen times. Same offers for me.

Race 2 was quite a bummer. 42 laps, it is quite tiring driving that long with the dualshock lol. Hands start cramping. Got off to another good start, even lapped quite a few people. Pitted in at lap 25, and was able to come out still 1st with about 4 seconds gap to second. Noticed though the 2nd and 3rd was lapping faster than I was, I just couldn't consistently put in the times that I could have in race 1.

I was able to pass some backmarkers that helped keep a buffer since it takes them quite a while to pass them. Still, after they passed them they would catch up, until lap 35 I hit the damn inside curb of the apex at turn 5 (Laguna), and spun the damn car out. Quickly dropped to 4th, and started lapping again. Noticed 5th and 6th catching up quick, but thought I can salvage 4th since there was only about 4 laps to go. Well, lap 39 he stuck his nose on the inside right before the corkscrew and spooked me. I should have kept my line, but I moved to the right a little, and boom spun out going down the corkscrew, leaving me 6th. I was leading for 2/3 of the race but ended up 6th!! That's racing for ya

I just saw on the PCARS forum that it has been acknowledged as a bug that we stumbled upon and an oversight in their testing. Will be fixed after patch 1.4. Apparently it pretty much only allows you to participate in the RUF Supercar (the one with the 918 hybrid lookalike) and several other invitationals if you started your first ever season in GT3 and picked the RUF GT3

And from now on all races at Snetterton get the auto WIN!

HA!

J/K

not really

This would "help" with the lower tier series which are automatic wins.

So will the DLC cars be integrated into the career?
I remember reading somewhere that they will. Hopefully that means for present championships such as the GT3 championship there will be AI with the Bentley (if that car is indeed coming to the game) as well.

Help! I'm stuck in an Invitational!

I don't like driving Karts or Formula cars. I started an Historical Formula car invitational just to run a few laps and confirm I don't want to do this. Confirmed.

Before I tried it, I had the option of skipping to the next race series, but now I can't?

So...now I have to go through all 7 race sessions to move on?

Help!

Yes, or you can go back and skip the whole season, or you can deleted that profile and start a new one.

Uggh. I was afraid that was the answer. I don't like any of those options. I guess I can fast forward through each session to speed up the misery, huh?

Thanks for the quick response, Scaff.

I'm in season 13 now and I still haven't done a season of GT3, LMP's other than LMP1, or any Formula yet.

I thought that my poor efforts in the GT4 Asia Pacific Series would've kept me from racing in GT3, but surprisingly I was offered a drive in an MP4-12C for the series, and I've taken it. Obviously. Great thing about the car is it's really easy to drive compared the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 so I should get some wins.

Phew, just won the gt5 trophy, with me on 225pts, 2nd place on 225, but with fewer race wins and 3rd place on 224! An absolute rush. The rain at Donnington in the last round almost fecked me over, but just managed to hang on! On to gt4. I had a gt3 offer but wanted to experience the climb to the top.

Is anyone else finding it difficult to he enthusiastic about the invitationals? The only one I've loved so far is m1 procar.

You're not alone buddy, most invitations gave me cars that I normally wouldn't drive and in some rare occasions, their default setup was terrible.
So far after 16 seasons, I loved the BMW M1 ProCar, Ford Mustang Cobra TransAm Invitations. Both cars were a joy to drive  👍

The BMW 320 Group 5 is also too. I completed the one where it is all 320, and now doing the one that also has the Ford one as well with the 320.

I wish they would allow you to try out the invitationals without being committed to finishing them. I'm curious enough to want to try the cars, but then if you hate them, you're stuck as I mentioned in an earlier post. They should allow the "skip to next" option at any time during the invitational.

You can go free practice before going into the invitationals...But then again I also think if you start the first session of the invitational, like free practice, and don't finish it, i.e. quit before the session is over, I think you can still skip it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think I did that before. And worse comes worse, retire to pits during the race.
