Golded it with a wheel on my third clean lap..... which took about 25 laps to get  Other than that, it was under steer mid-corner on the right hand turn of the S.

Well, practice makes perfect, you know. But congrats on the gold lap.

And thanks to @alex1369 for understanding my point. The 2X is a demanding car, it won't be an easy drive. But it isn't a bad drive, as long as you recalibrate your driving to adapt to it.

45.9xx
DS3 stick user.
I mapped R1 for acceleration following the advice above - thanks:tup:
I used the continuous accelerator trick for the final turn and turn 2.

Here's what I did...
Turn 1 - take it flat with 2 or 3 little lifts to guide the nose into the apex.
Turn 2 - made loads of time here. Brake around 80-90m, tuck into the apex, accelerate out nudging the brake to straighten up and avoid the barrier. Do this in 1 move, without hesitation and its quick!

The Esses (no accelerator trick here - I couldn't do it anyway!)- I brake about 75-80m on the bridge pointing slightly right towards the apex but not too much. Then I let the car almost overshoot and as soon as I feel the gantry is about to appear, I floor it, taking a continuous shallow curved line to the second lefthand apex. Again I overshoot - and this takes a trial and error approach - at a certain point you can floor it and the car just makes the entrance of the tunnel at a very high speed. Floor it too soon and you hit the wall, too late and you lose a lot of time. I found this route to be the fastest compared to all the traces of my friends - at least 0.5secs - who were taking the conventional apex line.

Final turn - back on to R1, I bring the car as left as possible in the tunnel and blindly aim for the space after the sunshine lit barrier. This allowed me to get to the braking zone without lifting or braking. Then I heavy brake into the final turn coming off asap and then regulating the speed with tiny nudges on the brake. Pay attention to the tower shaped building on the right - as you pass it, do a final nudge of the brake to guide the nose towards the apex for a final accelerate out at the fastest possible speed.

I was 46.2xx without ASM
Sadly I couldn't gain any more time. Then I sold out like a tart and hit sub 46secs. You can't win them all!!!:)

Then I had to recalibrate my brain for the Infinity TT!!! It was shockingly bad!:dunce::lol:

DS3 users. I can confirm what @Giulietta73 said. Don't accelerate while braking on the S turns! I did 45.8xx (ASM on, ABS 10)
Turn 1 - full throttle, stick to the left side of the corner
Turn 2 - start braking (full throttle) just before the braking line
Turn 3 (S turn)- start braking on the red line (don't accelerate), then handle throttle with care. When you think you can do this - full throttle to the...
Turn 4 (S turn)- brake (don't accelerate) -> half throttle -> accelerate to the tunnel -> full throttle to the last corner where you can again do the accelerate/brake trick. The S turn is the key to gold. Hope this will help someone :)

If I can recall correctly, I ran a 43.6xx yesterday for about 300 somethingth at the time. Really demanding car, requires all of your focus to nail each turn. DFGT user.

I found this the most easy of the seasonals, only golded this and the 10 lap survival so far.

At first I found the car a nightmare to drive, but then noticed and remembered from the vgt video about the down force from the thrust... all clicked, and after a total of around 15 laps I got gold.

I managed a 45.028 - World Ranking: 3975th at time of posting.. Highest I've ever ranked! :D

Later when my wife had a go (I gave her the tips on taming the car), she managed a 45.6xx after only about 5 laps.. I'm usually much better than her with new cars, and in general. (she doesn't read GTP :sly:)

Thx @133tom and @Giulietta73 for the guide, really helped a lot, just got a 45.839, although I did just one thing differently. I braked with full throttle going into turn three, it gave me a better turn-in. Could be down to my driving style, nothing more.
Anyways, thanks.

I must admit if this car existed, I don't know if I'd have the balls to drive it. After getting a gold time, I exited the event and reflected upon what I had just done and how absolutely terrifying it would be in actuality. Once the car was moving, you could probably just shut down the laser propulsion system and power it by vectoring my screaming.

After looking at trl_immortal's replay, I dropped my time to 45.3 to 43.833. It took me a lot of practice to set that time. Slow in and fast out works perfectly in this car. I could've set a 42 but I keep messing up at the two slow corners and sometime the last one. My rank is 821st and I'm a dfgt user since gt5.

Tried and tried to get gold for 2 hours, best I could do was 46.116. Took a break, ate some popcorn and 2 laps after starting up again I got gold with a 45.809 (with a controller).
Edit: 45.566 after buttering the popcorn.

My best is 47.7, any suggestion?

Yes,, if you use the driving line - brake early,, get it set up, slip carefuly through the "S" and floor it EARLY!! Just a very slight speed check as you approach the BIG sweeping left before the S/F straight - a slight lift to scrub 25 or so mph - them mash it again. It will fly around the BIG sweeper under full throttle. If you feel you're about to lose it - hang on and keep it floored!!! Power will hold it in line,, honest! I'm well back from the leaders - sitting just under 500 with a 43 and mid change but the "thing" is fast, it's quick,, VERY quick and,, as you've no doubt discovered the steering reacts violently!! No, it will not be among my race cars,, I don't see myself ever using it again. HTH and Good luck!!

After realizing that no power is going to the wheels it started to make sense. It's a rocket dude. Was running high 44's then dropped into the 43's with a 43.728. Too many crashes after that run while loosing my line watching for blue laps!

Running in cockpit cam, no aids, ABS 0. Modded DFGT.

As an editorial aside: Sometimes you just get off your high horse and enjoy some stoopid gaming fun. Sure we all want more real life rides but weird and wacky rides like this 4 wheel piece of insanity break up the monotony for me. Dig it.

Edit: Cool, dropped a bit to 43.4xx. I think that's #380 now.
That's weird I'm really not that fast.

It wasn't hard to get gold, but I was really disappointed with the car.

I really expected more from it. For sure it will be a car that will be in the back of my garage without use.

I feel the same way because when I drove around other circuits. High speed ring is the only circuit that I feel the most comfortable at.

i'm a ds3 user and i am also having trouble getting gold. i'm within .8 seconds of gold using the driving options abs 3, tcs 3, active steering mild, and controller sensitivity +5. i think i'm going to turn off the active steering because it numbs the controller in the high speed corners. it is definitely possible with a ds3 but would be so much easier with a wheel.

one thing that i have noticed is that it handles a bit like the gt-r but on a much higher scale. it has understeer into the corners but if you can hit the entry speed right then you can really hit the throttle out of the corner as soon as you hit the apex and sling shot yourself out.

i don't feel guilty using the tcs and abs in this particular car because it is such a futuristic monstrosity that i can reasonably believe that those systems will be equipped on the car.

45.539 also with DS3 ;)

Probably the tacos I had
Warmed by lasers?
This seems a bit dumb that it is taking hours of effort for DS3 users to get 5 tenths above gold but players with wheels around the same skill level can get over a second above gold within a few laps.

That's life but we did it, so let's give the man the finger and scream 'ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low'
