How can this party claim to be the party of liberty and freedom when, for the past two years, they have stripped back even our most basic freedoms?

I know there is a lot more to unpack here than this bit, but these lazy, sweeping, obnoxiously hyperbolic statements really grind my gears. What is this even supposed to mean? What are the most basic freedoms and how have they been stripped back? It's like how a sixteen-year-old would write a term paper while watching Netflix, like she got bored of her own sentence halfway through and just didn't bother to expand on the idea.
