I think it fair to expect we get some updates next year as well,
It will for sure been slow down for 2026, a reveal for gt8 some time fall of 2025 would not suprice me at all.

😁
Man, this strategy really didn’t worked out so well for Mazda😬
It’s a pity they didn’t realize the actually interesting concepts:/
But now I’m in for the M2 1001 in GT7, as it represents this weird part of Mazdas brand history😀

Thanks👍
Interesting, never heard of M2 before, but I for myself wouldn’t mind if they don’t add it. Even though it’s cool, we already have the touring version in the game
I hope they do.

It's a variant, sure, but it's a cool variant with history behind it that not many people remember, and that's enough for me to say it's worth preserving in the Japanese car history video game in a way that, say, an NA MX-5 that's just a different trim level wouldn't be.

I went through the IP credits in the game tonight (GT Menu -> Options -> About this Game -> Notice of Intellectual Property), because I was both bored and curious what that's on here shows up in there, if anything.

Most car brands are just listed as "X cars licensed by SIE", but there's specific credits for the following cars not in the game:
  • "Autobacs" "ARTA" and "Garaiya" are all separately credited in the same line
  • RUF CTR Yellowbird
  • Lamborghini Reventon (also a Murcielago SV, and Diablo GT and Diablo GT2, but I assume those are for GT Auto modifications of the Murcielago and Diablo GT1)
Unsurprisingly the track IP credits reveal nothing. Though not every track in the game is listed there - Watkins Glen, Spa and Laguna Seca are all missing.

I'd assume that the IP has expired on these tracks.

What is interesting is they are real world tracks, with RA and Watkins coming to the game.

Based on this alone when if we get a new track I would say it's a fictional one again.

No reason other than licensing seems to be a thing PD don't do and if they do on their terms.

Especially since they’ve just let the players build replicas of many cars with parts and livery editor. No doubt it saves money, but now they really don’t need to bother adding the amount of real race cars from past games.
