does anyone regret buying the game?

It's the best GT yet, but of course it is.

I just don't feel as excited to play X and Y new racing game since GT5. The wanting to drive and collect and drive again simply isn't as intense as before. Experiencing the "sexier" FM4 sounds has definitely not helped in my enjoyment of GT6 so far. But maybe thats because my attention has shifted to more story-driven games like Remember Me, The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, BioShock Infinite, etc..
I completely agree about F4 audio and the difficulty to getting into GT 6 from a pure sound perspective. The game is great but I really never appreciated how immersive the audio was until you don't have it...

Audio, chase the rabbit, and rubber banding are my biggest gripes... And put them all together and it's not a small issue... Nor easy to look past.

Translation:
This game sucks because I can't buy a ford mustang gt500 '13 with racing softs and win every race!
fixed. really, that is why the PP and tire restrictions piss me off. because i cant use the gt500 (and other cars i actually want to drive) at it's max in any races and still have a hope in hell at winning. the only races it can even be entered in at full PP are the like the wind races, and it doesnt stand a chance in them!

i'm not thinking of selling is but i am thinking about putting it back in it's case and letting it collect dust for a few months while some updates accumulate. maybe by then they'll have released more, better paying races and change the PP/tire restrictions (preferably remove them entirely).
I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. I think the races in GT6 aren't as well paid as GT5 because people were complaining that you became financially independent too soon in the game, especially with the seasonals if I recall correctly where you can drift a car around a couple of corners for example and get 1,500,000 Cr. with your 200% login bonus.

Also, the PP/tyre restrictions do not need to be removed because it is really easy to beat the AI in GT6 with a car that is up to 120PP down from the max limit and a whole tyre grade down. For example, it's not unusual to beat 500PP AI on Sports hard with your 410PP car with Comfort Softs. Or even 600PP AI on Racing Hard with your car on 550PP and Sports Soft along with the benefit of not aquaplaning when/if it rains in a race (Sports tyres have grooves, but not as many as Comfort or Rain tyres)
No! I just went online for the first time, 425pp on the Ring. So much fun! Also, n2o was optional, so, out of the few cars I've got, I gave my stock S2000 some boost to match the pp range... Threw a tank in it, and man I must admit; The nitro was so much fun, started in 5th, ended up 1st. I wasnt alone with the n2o, and it lasted much more longer then I thought it would!
I have no idea why the nitrogen oxide in this game is priced at 100,000...!

Okay thanks for that clarification mister dog & Toronado. I understand if there are particular things you honestly thought were going to be different / better, and there's not.

I was mostly interested (no offense to your particular gripes), in those people who were interested in career mode & the AI (ie: single player), and who DID in fact purchase the game, and would be here declaring their regrets.

That's who I'm wondering about regarding... did you feel a bait & switch issue?

(It also goes without saying, if you decided not to buy the game you weren't baited & switched, and you have no expenditure to regret.)

Obviously I admit there are things I'm not 100% pleased about, as I mentioned before. Lack of shuffle being a big one.
But 1) it's not a deal breaker or the only reason I liked the game, and 2) I have at least a halfway reasonable possibility to expect shuffle to return.
I'm also, not happy about there not being a course creator yet, and the fact it may be many months before it's added is not to my satisfaction. But again, not a deal breaker.

I forgot about all the bad press this game have received on the first corner in the first race. The physics are just exquisite

I still hope sound and AI gets fixed ASAP but yeah - definitely enjoying the game.

Btw - a lot of cars sound pretty decent.....just don't rev them too high

I've been playing since the demo to GT1. Although there are flaws (like all games), I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Then again, I'm a self-admitted GT whore.

God, criyng laughing at this!

I've read plenty so far on this forum to have me second guessing a potential purchase of GT6, but I have to say I'm happy about most of the 'problems' the OP has posted. It should be made difficult to earn credits and get cars, and we should be challenged by PP and, especially, tire restrictions. Goodness knows we never will be by the AI. One can only hope that people getting used to having to use some lower spec tires might result in less online lobbies where everyone is running around on racing soft tires on road cars whilst boasting that they don't need any driving aids..........

The amount of "we listened to feedback" being thrown around for the past year would be a pretty big one (which seems to have amounted to... the new menu system and a somewhat better framerate. Certainly not much more than that from an actual problem fixing perspective). The big partnership announcements PD paraded everywhere would be another one, since all those seem to have lead to at this point is a few extra sponsor graphics occasionally dotted around the game.

So I can absolutely see why people would think of a bait and switch situation, even if not as blatant as the ones in GT5.

Then folks should not have pre-ordered the title.

They should have waited for it to hit the shelves and see what everyone else thought before buying it.

PD did not force anyone to buy the game sight unseen.

So now trusting in what PD says about their game isn't even PD's fault?

No, no it is not. You are free to buy or not buy what ever you want.

Pre-ordering anything is a risk.

If you don't have the balls to live with the possibility the product may suck, don't buy it until Consumer Reports or your favourite women's magazine has done a test of it.

Be a man for Christ's sake and take responsibility for your own purchase decisions.

And the point, which you've clearly missed in your rush to kick people who are feeling tricked because they put trust in the things that PD absolutely said, is that that risk unnecessarily increases when promised improvements (some of them specifically stated) don't actually occur; or are silently pushed off to some later date.

And since initial feedback is hardly always objective (for example, some people may go around and claim that rubber band AI that would make Mario Kart jealous is "better" than a balanced AI system like earlier games in the series had because it "fixes" some other aspect of the game that PD broke and refuses to fix; and then claim anyone who disagrees is just whining for the sake of doing so) and gaming reviews are rarely in depth enough to cover such specificities, how do you suggest people gauge for themselves how good the game is before buying it if PD is wholly and completely absolved from being taken on their word for things?

Only thing I can suggest is laying off the steroids. It should take care of both the anger issues you are showing because people dare have an issue with misleading developer interviews, and the need to prove how manly you are with the pointless jabs.

Though the fact that I was speaking hypothetically (since I never assumed PD would actually fix, as just one example, the issues with car padding that Kaz directly apologized about; and was aware well in advance that I would probably hate the game before I had to buy it anyway in order to continue helping with the official GTP Podcast) in response to a question someone else asked and you felt fit to escalate things personally anyway is quite amusing.

I spent a solid 10hrs on this yesterday. Really enjoyed it and first proper gaming session since another heart emergency admission last week.

Loving the physics on ds3, ain't well enough to use a wheel. Takes some tweaking with ABS etc.. off or tiny amounts of steering adj sensitivity to get it to feel right and for me if you don't do manual gears a brain fart. I'm glad cars feel at limit or pushed over and I know it's my fault.

So much praise and so much enjoyment...then I reliased how much is missing from 5. Ok maybe not vanilla 5 put maan why cut so much.

So decided to bench it for 6months....not happy bout it but will get more enjoyment out of the career later on.

I am getting sick of patching later and get it out now mentality. It seems to be we're PC gaming was 2004-2005 then everyone started saying if you do that we won't buy it.

I'm currently staring at Forza and BF4 on xbone same problem, and Im going back to GTA5 after benching that since release with its bugs.

It's a shame but being a avid gamer for all my 40yrs nearly I won't play half arsed games when I know patches will make em better later on. Learnt that from PC. Never used to be this way..state of easiness of net I guess. So off another one goes on the pile to join the likes of Skyrim ;)

See u all in 6months. Back to GT5 and my 3d on that! U took 3d out wtf!

Forgot to say as asked the AI is abborant and bouncey static line get out my way as usual. PGR and Forza this ain't. I never buy em for that tho. I like the feel, the collecting cars and how the game plays. For how it feels I think it's the best arcade sim out there, no sim GP Legends but best of the halfway house sims. If it gets a good following with meaty online and some good patches it could be very special later on :)

Quality and contents are 2 parameters. GT6 has both. I would love if they had more tracks, premium cars. But I honestly happy with pre-order of anniversary edition. Moreover course maker and other updates should be free. I am interested in track pack too. Inter lags circuit is pretty much given by intro :)

That was funny. Be a man?
Since when buying a bugged, incomplete, disegned for noobs product is a synonym of masculinity?
It makes completely no sense.
Pre-ordering GT6 after GT5 drama means only you are ok on purchasing a product full of gameplay issues.

Kind of regret the anniversary pack because I've never used the cars, but the steelbook is nice and goes nicely with my other GT collectibles.

It's the other way around, he means that the be a man thing is for knowing when to spend your money. And in this here case having the troll face because you saved 60 bucks not falling for a laughable scheme.

A bit like this:

But as usual, the Kindergarten cop mods of this site deleted the post. For the word Butt? Or Butt hurt? Who knows. It's funny how they can get smart and cocky with someone, but if we make a post that's "Slightly arrogant" It gets deleted.. GTplanet is like a dictatorship.. Something similar to those North Koreans. Chumps.

Be a man and accept RESPONSIBILITY for the purchase of the product.

Nobody FORCED the purchase you and everyone made the decision of their own free will.

If you suspect the product may not be up to scratch do NOT prepay and pre-order - WAIT for the reviews to come out.

If however you did make the pre-purchase and now you don't like it - suck it up - it was YOUR choice to spend the cash.

So, yes - be a man and quit whining like stuck pig.

Nope.

The game has problems but it's only been out a week. Ask this question again in 3-6 months when PD has either brought everything together as they promised or have failed miserably and still have microtransactions if you ever hope to achieve 20 million credits in any reasonable time frame and everybody has gone over to Forza leaving the GT series a deserted wasteland.

LOL What you are saying sound like "Take it like a man" which is different and eventually the opposite than "Be a man". If people can't report their feedback to the forum the whole point of this thread fall apart.

The interesting thing is, despite RC45's clear personal disgust with people who have regrets buying something, I don't recall anyone actually saying that they should be allowed their money back; which would at least somewhat justify his confusing need to act as if people are being disgraceful to whatever his "standards" are.

I regreat paying full price.

After having spent the weekend with it, I can definitely say that

-Its the same old stale formula
-Not enough new cars or tracks were truly added
-The racing formula (if you can call it that) has become a chase-the-rabbit situation. This isn't racing.....
-The AI is still terrible, I mean Codemasters had good AI for their racing games and that was on PS2
-This feels like GT5.5, not a whole new game.

Kaz seriously does not understand how to make a racing game at this point, but of course the GT fanboys will say he's not making a racing game, that its more

Nope

1) It's £35. Not a lot. It costs me £95 to fill up my tank in my car ($150)
2)It's better than GT5.
3) It's a brilliant game.
4) Flaws are being corrected with patches.
5) It's only a game. No need to get upset or angry about it.

I would've regretted it had I bothered to buy it, just like I did with GT5. Fool me once shame on PD, fool me twice shame on me. Bargain bin buy for me one year down the line when (hopefully) the game is "mostly" fixed.

Pretty much this, that is if I find it in my gamestore, not gonna bother searching for it like a madman.

To be honest I don't expect anything more than what we got with GT5, just minor big fixes, a few basic features added and that's it.

6)More to come people, just too early to make a solid case about it right now.

It's the holidays, let them have some time with their family's, etc so they can do some quality work. After January, and perhaps February...make judgments then. This will decide how well it fairs for 7 on the PS4 or whatever development happens with that.

Okay the reason that the gran turismo series of games are so popular (for me) are because they are by far the best simulated racing games for the ps3 they are console versions of iRacing or Rfactor on the pc.That said I was expecting gt6 to be even further along that development road than they are ( no pun excused) $60 is a nice chunck of change to put down for a game so I give it 7 out of 10 but still recommend it!!!
