Always wondered, whats up with the missing right headlight? Have seen some other cars with similar symptoms: (think better airflow to the intake?)
Since when is GT about circuit racing only? We have rally, NASCAR, drifting and karting is also hinted. GT has never been about only one form of automobile racing, except in the first game.Im not sure about putting too much drag content into GT5, GT has always been about circuit racing and while I'm a fan of drag racing I would rather have the time spent on GT's roots.

Also, as I've said a hundred times, drag racing has been hinted for every GT since GT2 without being fully implemented, so saying it doesn't fit in GT is just ridiculous in my opinion.
The more air you can force into an engine the better the combustion. This equals more power. It does work. Theres no experiment needed.
And a just plain nutty rx3. Have to represent the rotarys!

I'm more into NHRA and muscle cars, but I have to say those RX3's with rotary engines jaw dropping indeed!
I'm still keeping my fingers and toes crossed. If not, you know I'll have a ladder up for GT5 1/4 mile records like I have for the GT4 1/4 mile records so us drag racers won't be left out in the cold.Anyway, doesn't seem like we'll have drag racing in GT5.
That is very true. More air = more power. Some more pics:
Super bad pass pic btw:
lol, but yeah, i'd love to see drag racing in this, but, unless they plan to "suprise" us, i dont think it'll be in gt5, maybe gt6?
I think there is going to be a drag racing section. FM3 had it, and GT4 had it, they just scrapped the multiplayer for Las Vegas at the last minute. A drag strip has been photographed and documented, and the Top Gear Test Track is a perfect strip, on it's own.
Holy crap, I had no idea! Thanks for pointing it out! There's not much more info available other than a name on a list from a video screenshot of a Polyphony Digital PC monitor display where there were directories of reference material from tracks and locations of which the majority will most certainly appear in GT5.
That sounds contorted, doesn't it?
Have a look here, maybe it will be clearer: https://www.gtplanet.net/video-reveals-polyphony-digital-visitedstudied-spa-francorchamps/
Yeah, I've been thinking about that too.By the way, if there is drag racing in GT5, don't you think that PD should ditch the GT4 "Las Vegas" drag strip and use the real one from Las Vegas Motor Speedway instead? Of course in this way they could use the oval track for NASCAR too (which, by the way, has also got a karting track too. Killing two birds with a stone).
+1 👍Hopefully if it's done, its done right. Allowing the ability to red light, tire hookup issues. Half the fun in real life is getting your reaction times down, hitting the gas at the last amber light before the light turns green, hoping not to red light. Warming up the tires & then getting the rpms right off of launch as not to slip the tires, make all my shift points. Games tend to be sterile, hold the gas trigger, car launches when the game allows you, cross the line, game over.

Mate omg I just ****** my pants on this idea 👍Plus we could organise our own street races with eachother down a very long straight anyway if we got too antsy about it. We could race at say Fuji, or Le Sarthe or even Motegi's pit straight. 👍 Imagine 16 cars all parked at the end of the straight in an online race waiting for us to go off 2 at a time against eachother......would be a very amusing sight indeed. 💡
Yeah, I've been thinking about that too.
Well, if the Infineon and Bandimere drag strips are included, or just one of 'em, I'm more than satisfied! If we'll finally get a proper NHRA drag strip they better make the tree work properly as well.
What also have crossed my mind a couple of times is that, since Kaz has teased us with drag racing for so long (for the last three Gran Turismo titles as a matter of fact), perhaps the technology they have now is what they've waited for in order to fully implement it? But then again, why haven't they said anything about it yet if they have implemented it?
👍I am loving your new avatar. Chevy Nova my first car.👍
What get's me worried is that we haven't heard a single word about drag racing in GT5 so far, and if they have included it I think it would've been best to announce it at E3, but they didn't. I doubt they'll say anything about it at TGS, because I fear no one gives a crap about drag racing in Japan.
So.. are they simply keeping it a surprise for us to discover when we get the game, or have they left out drag racing once again? Since we are now pretty sure they have photographed both the Infineon and Bandimere drag strips which are both used by the NHRA, I see no reason why they should leave it out but with PD you never know I guess.
What do you guys think? Do you think we would've heard about it already if it was featured, or is there still hope?
👍
