I can't imagine the touring car drivers taking the chicane in reverse! Forget two-wheeling, we'd be seeing some pretty nice air!

Refreshingly blunt but that's why I like Tim, I agree with every word of that article. I'm not usually one to criticise other drivers but Neate's accident in race 2 was appalling, Morgan or Williamson could have easily been injured from that.

Roll on 2013 :D

I think theirs a lot of MG fans who never really believed in Andy Neate anyway. I didn't. I could have told Ian Harrison he was going to be a massive weak link back in April.

With any luck they can get shot of him and replace him with two good drivers that perhaps is a blend of quality and potential.

I knew that they were thinking of doing Knockhill in reverse. All I can say is that it would probably create better racing and a new challenge for them next year. The BTCC need to change the tracks they race at every so often. I would also reccomend that they race on the Silverstone South circuit as well.

888 never hired Neate for his ability but for his cash. Its been made pretty clear from the very start.
In fact, its been pretty clear ever since Neate turned up in the BTCC.

They're never going to replace him with someone else unless they bring more money.

Was going to say, he's only been at teams that need money.

WSR needed him for the lose of RAC for 2010, 2011 Arena needed him for money to develop the car and run it, and the same for 888 this year.

no they weren't

Yes they were. There was an article in Autosport a few weeks back saying that Knockhill has a license to hold reverse races and that they were talking to TOCA to decide whether to do it.

While its a cool idea, I would miss Knockhill forwards (or clockwise) and I can't see Knockhill getting 2 rounds like Brands Hatch because its so far out of the way - we already struggle with some smaller teams missing it out with just one race weekend!

Alan Gow has already stated this will not happen as its KMSC that hold the reverse license, So people like SMRC and BARC can't run reverse races.

I've said it before... O'Neil in a NGTC Cruze with Stockton...

Nothing confirmed yet, and I thought RML had only started on one NGTC Cruze?

And I thought they were planning to run a NGTC Cruze(Stockton) and than an S2000 Cruze with NGTC engine for another driver

Yeah but either way, O'Neil would fly in the car.

Yeah no doubt he would be quick in both cars, but from this year we have seen NGTC move forward from last year and they seem to just have that advantage over S2000 cars now.

It's O'Neill choice but considering BTCC is moving into NGTC I think he's looking for an NGTC car to drive, rather than an S2000

After Tony Hughes announced his retirement, I instantly guessed O'Neill at Speedworks.

That's my guess too, I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

Perhaps some clues for driver line-ups/team setups, with quite a few teams running some testing lately:

-Aron Smith tested Motorbase's NGTC Focus.
-Motorbase tested Jake Hill (Ginettas) and Tom Grainger (Metros) in their S2000 Focus.
-ES Racing are going to test Chris Knox (Minis/ASCC) in one of their S2000 Vectras.
-Team HARD are going to test Jack Goff (Clios) in their Insignia.

Its pleasing to see quite a few talents from junior series getting chances, I feel BTCC is having quite a good run lately with rookies or new drivers to the series.
Hopefully some if not all of these drivers are on the grid next season - the more, the merrier!

Less Neate and James, and we'll be getting there.

Edit: 5,000th!

I think Neate and James are balanced out by:
Frank Wrathall, James Nash, Rob Austin, Adam Morgan, Dan Welch, Dave Newsham, Lea Wood, Tony Gilham, Aron Smith, Nick Foster and Ollie Jackson.

:P

Haha, I'd just rather they weren't there at all.

Every Holmes needs his or her Moriarty, but Plato, Jackson and Neal do that job well enough.

Talking of James, they're mouthing off on the team's Twitter page again, this time aimed at Plato.

It's a pity that James is such a travelling wave amplifier tube, as Newsham is a talented bloke and deserves better than that team.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: James is just a fat chav with no place in the BTCC. There has to be some irony in there somewhere that he's driving a Vectra, of all cars.

Well sadly they pay the bills. At least Chris James has the courtesy not to get involved in taking out other drivers every race.

I don't think there is any reason to want Andy Neate around, even if he does pay 888's bills. Plato and Neate have probably caused 90% of the damage to the grid this year between them.

888 probably don't need Neate. They've had his funds to get the team up and running again, but it's possible that they've recouped back what they need to run the team. Plato coming 2nd must have brought in a few more Simoleans.

Either that, or get in a better pay driver.

I thought Plato came 3rd?

And I don't think Neate will be there next year, look at his BTCC record. He's been in a different team each year, guessing he gets kicked out of them or told to leave

Please check this out, its hilarious, might not have finished yet
