I say just on penalties for this particular race, otherwise it will get messy in the post race aftermath.

We all have an hour practice and qualifying for the track, so we should be able to learn where penalties kick in. However, I find it unsportmanly if people cut regularly (like in the FGT championships) and gain time when they should be penalised.

From my own experience with penalties on here, the entrance into the first and second chicanes are less penalised, the exit curbs are more penalised.

The entrance to Ascari, if all on green, gives a penalty, and the exit corner too.

I know it's unlikely I finish in the top 6 by the laptimes you all are putting in, but I want to know where I finish up in a fair fight - where everyone stays within the limits of the track and here is the worst track for that. At least with penalties on people know that if they cut, they have to lift off or brake or they will receive a penalty...

Imagine you're chasing someone and they cut the corner and just sped off with a 0.5 - 1 second advantage over you who drive cleanly in the second chicane...

I have see this video Rich its ok only not like this on the first corner thats to much cutting. Other corners we make same on the chicance you can use full cerb only not the green.

Third World Championship Race Monza 50 Laps
29.09.2013
19:00 UTC - Free Practice (optional)
20:00 UTC - Qualifying (if you miss the end of qualifying you can start from the back)
20:30 UTC - Actual Race

Intense start today, unfortunate about the poor connections.

I was hoping JB would get by immortal too and hold him off for a little while, I was much more aggressive at the start then last time at Monza but I ended up farther back at the finish than last time due to some errors.

I was hoping JB would get by immortal too and hold him off for a little while

Webber (JB) went gently down the straight into Parabolica... team orders or good old fashioned weakness, I can't decide!

I had an intense start too, starting in P9, I went easy into the first corner, came out behind Takumo Sato (Speedclub) and unfortunately he braked a little too early into the second chicane than I was expecting (even though I knew he had not practiced the track so would be liable to do that) and I clipped him and sent him into a spin... then into Ascari I was behind four cars, Maldonado went wide onto the sand, spun and hit someone, causing a pile up - I couldn't see because of the smoke and sand and I pushed Big and helped him through it and then slipstreamed him and got into fourth... then on lap two, Di Resta slipped passed me and as I chased him down out of the two Lesmos we both did well to avoid Eddie Irvine (Gazz) who went off track then came back on track right into the racing line! I lost a good 30 seconds with little off track adventures here and there, but that put me in a play fight with Di Resta for the 4th position and that was fun!

Well what can I say first lap I got my usual di resta start dropping back a few places after my engineer gave me the wrong start procedure which put me in the mix at the back so had to be a bit aggressive on the first two laps to get back up in the the fight with Hamilton (arty) and Perez (gazziboy) after I pass Perez I set out to hunt down Hamilton but his pace was equal to mine and was fighting for tenths back and forth untill he decided to pit I was on plan A but my team manager decided to talk about contract issues mid race and I missed my pit stop window after I told the manager to shut up and let me do my job is settled in for the long run of 26 laps on a set of tyres but pit crew confusion gave me 20 litres of fuel to much which ultimately cost me in tyre wear and pace in closing laps
Where arty had me like a sitting duck with fresh tyres thou I held on as long as I could like a fat kid in a sweet shop but kept it honest and clean.
Next in the line to take me was gazziboy he made a bold effort on exit of first chicane but I firmly closed the door and then again at ascari but he took me on the straight but I repayed him with a beauty in to the first chicane for him to repay me with intrest on entrance of second with a tap on me side pods and him going straight on over chicane (FIA are looking in to it ) 3 laps from the end I manage to hold on to 6 th and sutil my team mate holding on for 10th for those important constructors points after art mann DNF

Are we going to see 5 place grid penalties for people who blatantly disregarded the white line coming out of the pits? It would stop this reckless behaviour!

Did I do that arty ? Not sure if I cut it thou only made 1 pit stop with no one around me so made no difference to any one around me

I think everybody would get a penalty then as nobody knows about the white line as its never been used before here.

I saw movie Rush yesterday, good entertaining movie and very simplistically toned down for the average viewer. It has gotten excellent reviews but there's so many unclarities in it about the careers of the two protagonists... I didn't know Lauda started racing again the following years and won 2 more championships.

It's a great film but I don't think It told the whole story about that dramatic season of f1 the documentarie on the bbc about that season was highly detailed from Ferrari protests on mcclaren to over turned appeals the lauda crash and his injuries and him coming back so quickly.
But found it a great film really captured the essence of f1

On another note has anyone noticed since the last update the fgt handles differently in stock form was testing today with arty and seems the handling characteristics have changed abit

Suzuka Test Results

In the first test, a track exploration with tyrewear and fuel depletion off, Arty did a 1.27.940 around Suzuka. Under a second from Immortal's low fuel 1.27.041 lap record in the championship race there.

Note: Skyline, who completed that championship race with his fastest lap time in the mid-1.31s, came in 3 seconds faster in this test around the sunny Suzuka track to complete a great day of testing.

In the second test, a qualifying simulation with tyrewear and fuel depletion on, Arty did a 1.29.647 on his 4th lap out of 8 before trying out different compounds for the remaining four laps.

Thursday Official Practice Race Pre-Report

Team Bianchi has fitted new Brembo brakes on Arty's car that provide a more assured experience heading into the hairpin, spoon, and the final chicane.

After the shambles of the qualifying session at the Monza race, Arty means business and is aiming for a front row starting berth.

In the test I was consistently in the mid 29s thou was having issues with braking in to the hair pin ,spoon and final chicane thou arty was faster in first sector every time I managed to gain time back on him in middle and last sector if I could get the first part of the lap through the s curves I could maybe drop to high 27s thou tyre wear was very high on the fronts

Good job in practice arty, your right down there in lap time, just stay consistent and you'll have your best race ever. Going to watch Korea and root for Mercedes and Ferrari. I remember when I started following F1 in 2010, and was pulling for vettel because he was the under dog and Webber was the big bad favorite to beat Alonso to the title, then Webber crashed if I remember and Alonso looked to come through but failed in the very end because of Petrov, I think F1 has another one of those super close championships coming...next year, just have a feeling like last year when it was tight till the end.

Fourth World Championship Race Suzuka 45 Laps

Well I lost a good deal of my motivation after missing the chicane twice in the first 5 laps, after that I went into damage control mode and managed to get back up there.

Arty was very quick in practice but lacked race consistency, perhaps a red bull on a pit stop would help you arty?

That really is weird must be a glitch I swear my best was 1:30.467

I always seem to get 6's in my lap times, especially in open lobbies. like 1:43.686 at Spa or 1 26.66 at Suzuka. :sly: I think the game is programmed to mess with your head.
